But how many times do you go out of his way to talk about Connor McDavid and Leon Dreissel and those players who were told point blank, look, if I'm coming on, you've got to make sure you understand what my level of expectation is, right?

the thing that's fascinating with that is he's going to do his thing. They signed up for the full Mike Babcock experience, for better or worse, and now someone like Mark Messier says that. I wonder how the players in the dressing room feel about that. You guys are

It has to carry some weight. I don't know how you felt, but anytime we were at a morning skate and Daryl Sittler or Wendell were around and you got to talk to these guys and you got to hear their opinions, it mattered to me.
