Duthie on the Masters Tournament, McIlroy's elite performance and the Augusta experience

Chapter 1: What insights does James Duthie share from Augusta National?
Let's head down to Augusta now. I can't wait to see the shirt he's got on. What's he got today? Show us the pipe. Show us the pipe. Get that right bicep in there, Duffy. Come on. Yeah. Yes, yes, yes. I love it. Phenomenal. How are you feeling down there? How are things going this afternoon?
Fred Ridley, if he saw that, I'd be out of here in a heartbeat probably. So I better take these things back down. It's going well, General. How are you guys?
Yeah, we're doing well.
Are those matching hoodies? I missed this segment of the show. What's going on over there?
It's Greg Norman choking his guts out, falling down in the green with a straw hat on. All right. That's our favorite hoodie. Noodles and I wear it every year. I put mine in the wash one time and the whole thing peeled off. You guys must not wash those things. Never. Talk them away. Wear them once a year. That's it. Just hang it right back up. That's it. Exactly.
You know, Dillette told me a story yesterday that Bryson, you know, both Dillette and Bryson were Puma guys, right? And they always, because their names were always had the lockers next to each other at tournaments, so the Puma gear would arrive. But Bryson would always have tons of boxes of it. Like tons upon... Every day there'd be new boxes of Puma gear.
And so GD asked the Puma rep girl, he said, what's going on with Bryson? And she said, oh, he doesn't do laundry. So he just wears his clothes once and then puts on new ones. That's... This guy, this was like early in Bryson's career. He was just like, wear the Puba shirt once, toss it, and then wear a new one the next day.
I don't know if he's still doing that his entire career, but it wouldn't surprise me with him.
No, it seems almost fitting and almost completely understandable. What does that even mean, though, guy? Like, doesn't do laundry? Doesn't he get a maid or something? New year. That's what the uber-rich do all the time. Guys will be like, I'm wearing this one time, and it's gone. Everything, socks, underwear, it's one dance, and it's in the garbage. J.D., what about McElroy?

Chapter 2: How is Rory McIlroy performing in the Masters Tournament?
it's baffling to me how a guy with that much talent and on a week-to-week basis playing really well just comes and can't do anything here. I think there's still a pretty good chance in one of the four majors this year that he'll find a way into the hunt and figure this stuff out, but right now it's been a kind of two-year abyss.
With James Duthie live from Augusta National in the Masters. Day 2 continues on TSN. Roy's just dropped another shot, so he's at 6-under. He's still out there. Reed's at 6-under. The two of them in the lead still out there. Justin Rose in the clubhouse at 5-under for the tournament, 3-under today. Rose versus McIlroy again on Sunday would be kind of fun. It is pretty amazing, isn't it?
After what happened last year.
Isn't that the nature of this place? Hatton was good last year, and Kapka's playing pretty well, and Lowry seems to play pretty well there. There's something about Augusta where you can't discount what's happened in the past when trying to predict what's going to happen this year.
i think we fascinating if somehow look reads probably a factor he's playing great golf is one place in dp world tour is always awesome here he was third last year under the radar uh... but if it was somehow rose and rory on sunday i wonder if the sentiment would lead lean towards rose Where, you know, last year it was all Rory. Everybody's been cheering for Rory for the last decade.
But now Rose has three kind of heartbreaking second place finishes in here. I think he's won a lot of fans the last few years. I mean, the guy's in his 40s and he's ridiculously good still. And ridiculously good at Augusta National. I think that would be really fascinating just to hear the galleries out here. And probably be split halfway.
But I think there would be a lot of people cheering for Justin Rose if he was in the hunt on Sunday.
Jimmy, I'm sure you're glad that there's no rain showers. I think you've had your fill of those at Augusta National. But as far as the players, everybody's probably thinking like gorgeous weather, it's probably a lot easier. Is it like it's playing more difficult when it's kind of fast and firm?
I think so, and I think it will be Saturday and Sunday. The one thing about perfect weather is Augusta has full control over the golf course, and they're not like the USGAO where we've seen those US Opens on Sunday where it's gotten dried up and burnt out and gets a bit out of hand. I don't think they'll ever let that happen here.

Chapter 3: How does the leaderboard look as the tournament progresses?
And we're going to have like a kissing booth where you pay Fred Ridley a hundred bucks. You could smell it. That is the most disgusting thing.
Look, I will state for the record, because I think it needs to be said, that Bob Weeks has somewhere between 20 and 30 egg salad sandwiches every time I come here. I've been here with him for 15 years. And I have yet to smell gas from that man's backside.
Seriously? What a legend. That's impressive.
Oh, literally you in studio ten times worse.
Thanks for the plug, I guess. Thanks for the plug, I guess. There's no ventilation system in the studio. Right, you're outdoors there.
Semi-outdoors. We'll be hanging your chair there, so Renny will be hanging your chair from the Raptors someday there as well, for sure.
The last Leaf game, it's up in the Raptors right now.
Yeah, I got a nice text this morning from my colleague that said, best panel of the year. Just felt more natural and relaxed without you and Puffy and Renny around. Thanks for the support.
Without you and Puff and Renny, everybody felt like they could be themselves. They weren't...
