Yeah, thank you for doing this. You know, Max Scherzer... Credit him. He's 42. He went out there. He gave him two and two-thirds. He looked exhausted. He grinded. He got through it. Based on him doing that last night and what you saw of him last night, how would you project what the rest of his season looks like?
Yeah, I don't think it's pretty. I think that what I worry about is that the greater the workload gets or the intensity gets, the more challenging it is for his body and the more torque and pressure on the shoulder and elbow and the neck and the thumb. And so, you know, I think that anything more than three innings, maybe four innings, feels like it's asking a lot. And, you know, I don't know that you're going to do an opener with him and make him a bulk guy. You know, and I think that that I mean, it's unfortunate, but I think we're seeing the, you know, not the beginning of the end, but sort of the near end of the end for Scherzer on his 42nd birthday pitching yesterday. You know, it was a moment to wave to the crowd in D.C., but I think that, you know, it's winding down right now, and I think it's just going to come down to, you know, how much do they need innings?

Can you take us a bit inside that process and those conversations, how those actually happen in a front office before we all hear about the finalized deal?
Sure, sure. So, you know, it's not only GM to GM conversation. It's sometimes assistants reaching out to general managers, assistants reaching out to assistants. But you've got your group in your front office and a team that will make the calls and reach out.

And there's a lot of text messaging nowadays that goes on, just updating. You know, this year, with so many teams on the bubble trying to figure out whether they're buyers or sellers, You know, I think the conversations are such that that group of teams are saying, if we're buying, we're looking for this. We need a starting pitcher. We may need an outfield bat. We may need depth in the middle infield. If we're selling, we're going to trade this guy who's got an expiring contract, this guy with an expiring contract. And although this guy doesn't have an expiring contract, we would listen on him to potentially make a trade. And so, you know, teams are sort of laying out, you know, their identity and And within that identity, what sort of action they would consider end up taking.
And in the meantime, you're gathering all that information, and then you start juggling all the different balls. And you're still trying to figure out whether you're a buyer or seller. You know, we just heard reports that the San Diego Padres had scouts at every level of the Yankees farm system this past week and weekend, and that they're scouring that system. Because what you're doing is once you gather that information, you need to then make sure that you've got up, you know, about what they're considering. You need to update the information the scouting reports on the players that could change sides, whether it's major league players that you're buying to help the major league club for a playoff run, whether it's, you know, the players you're considering trading for that are going to help you for the long term, either at the major league level or minor league level, you want to have as up-to-date information as possible.
