Chapter 1: What is the atmosphere like at the Bell Center during important games?
here he is from the nhl on tnt maple leaf alumni one of our favorites right before the kentucky derby some pucks and ponies here's eddie olchuk how we doing eddie hey what's up guys nice to be with you hope you're doing well we're doing great uh the bell center on a friday night with a chance to clinch what do you expect the vibe like to be in montreal this evening
I like to say everybody's going to be lathered up and ready to go and knowing how obviously important of a game it is. I agree with you. Vassie's got to step up here. He's given up a couple of unlike Vassie goals, if there's a way to describe that, and he's got to be better.
So I think it's got to be one of those type of games where he gives himself, his team, an opportunity to take that next step and give themselves a chance to get back to Tampa. So, I mean, it's going to be off the charts. There's no doubt about it. And as the boys know, there's got to be great energy and emotion, but you've got to have discipline, too.
And at times in the series, just watching from afar ā
Chapter 2: How do players maintain discipline in high-pressure playoff games?
guys have crossed the line and put their teams and taken selfish penalties. There's no other way to say it. Let's call it what it is. And I don't think you want to do that against either team because both teams have the ability to make you look silly on the penalty kill. So I would give Tampa. I heard the old dog there talking about it. I give Tampa.
I give Tampa every opportunity, and there's pressure on both, but maybe even more so there's more pressure on Montreal at home. But we saw what Anaheim was able to do against Edmonton. That's a little bit of a different story with all the injuries on the Oilers' side.
Chapter 3: What unique sensations do fans experience at the Kentucky Derby?
It's a long-winded, should be one hell of a game, and I'm sure everybody's feeling good already and looking forward to that big, huge game six tonight.
So, Eddie, if you had to pick one smell, like when you walk into the Bell Center, the sights and smells of the hockey arena, the ice. What? Yeah, but there's also the Kentucky Derby, Eddie, like the grass, the people, like the booze. What kind of sensations give you the most excitement? Yeah.
That's a good question. I wasn't expecting that from you, old dog, to be honest with you. Journalism. Yeah, journalism 101. I would look at it as the feel and the vibe of a lot of people that this is the first time coming to the racetracks, a lot of people wandering around, and everybody dressed to the nines, everybody smelling good, feeling good, and enjoying these great equine athletes.
So I would just say the... I would just say the ambiance of all the different types of people, every demographic you can imagine, and if you enjoy people, this is the place to be.
Sorry, was that equine athletes? Is that what you said? Is that how we're describing the horses? I like that. All right, well, let's get to it here because we know you're busy and we know you're prepping for the Derby. Give us, who are we looking at here? Who do we like?

Chapter 4: Who are the top contenders for the Kentucky Derby this year?
Renegade is up there. Chief Wallaby's another one. I like that handle, Commandment. What are we thinking going into the Derby tomorrow?
Well, we haven't had a winner from post position number one since 1986 when Willie Shoemaker and Ferdinand won the Kentucky Derby back in 1986. I think the one is the most talented. I think he is the... the horse to beat, but is he going to be able to navigate and stick handle his way through 18 other competitors and get off the rail there?
He's going to be able to save ground, but he's got a great turn of foot. He's going to come running at the end.
Chapter 5: What factors influence a horse's performance in the Derby?
If he wasn't in post position number one, I would pick him, and right now he's in that 4-1 range. But I'm going to go with number 15, Emerging Market for Chad Brown and Flavien Pratt. Only run two times in his career. He's two for two. It's a big ask. It's a big step up. But I believe they would not put this horse in this type of situation going a mile and a quarter in front of 160,000 fans.
And if the horse wasn't competitive enough or the horse wasn't doing very well, So they could easily skip the Derby and gone right to the Preakness in a couple of weeks. But they chose to come to the Derby.
Chapter 6: How does post position affect a horse's chances in the Derby?
So I'm going to take a shot. Last odds I saw was 11-1. So I'm going to be using the 15 emerging market and number one renegade up and down all my tickets. I love it.
We will be doing the same thing up here. We know you're busy. Thanks for squeezing us in, Eddie. We appreciate it. Okay, guys. Talk to you soon.
