We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.

0

22.088 - 24.671 Will Friedle

Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it, but you know.

0

24.751 - 26.113 Unknown

On Humor Me with Robert Smigel and Friends, me and hilarious guests from Jim Gaffigan to Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guests, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an acapella band with their between songs banter. Who's the worst singer in the group? The worst?

56.545 - 77.575 Unknown

yeah me is there anything to the idea that because you're from harvard uh you only got in because your parents made a huge donation to the group the yard birds right that's the name the harvard yard but they're open do you have a name suggestion we're open since you guys are middle-aged uh one erection

Chapter 2: What memories does Jennie Garth share about her time on Beverly Hills 90210?

89.535 - 92.259 Unknown

I need some jokes to make me seem funny.

0

92.88 - 113.53 Jennie Garth

Winning on clay is an art. The rallies are relentless. And at the French Open, only the toughest survive. I'd know. I competed there for decades. Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs Tennis Podcast for no-nonsense breakdowns of the biggest matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define Roland Garros. Good to win. She's an outsider to win the French main. And she likes clay.

0

113.55 - 125.294 Jennie Garth

Listen, Lena Rybakina is arguably the best player in the world right now and actually can win on any surface. Listen to the Renee Stubbs Tennis Podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

0

125.314 - 129.162 Unknown

Presented by Capital One, founding partner of iHeart Women's Sports.

0

129.563 - 145.968 Jennie Garth

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.

146.529 - 152.138 Unknown

Within probably 10 days, I put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

152.959 - 188.771 Jennie Garth

Listen to Superhuman on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I grew up in a gaming family. It's board games all the time. Board games. Awesome. And it's one of those things that can be exhausting to other people who have to get invited to my house and have to play board games.

189.412 - 197.927 Jennie Garth

And it's also sometimes a little exhausting for me because my parents like to buy brand new board games all the time and spring them on us. And...

198.194 - 210.609 Jennie Garth

They try and find things that are either like, it's just hard to hit the sweet spot with a growing child because you're either getting a game that's too advanced and he doesn't want to play it or it's way too simple and you're like, Snakes and Ladders just sucks. Or Shoots and Ladders?

Chapter 3: How did Jennie Garth's experiences shape her views on high school expectations?

245.334 - 252.641 Jennie Garth

Ends up being the funnest game in the world. I'm going to play it with you guys. And here's why it's a dumb game. There's no losing in this game. There's no points.

0

253.521 - 253.762 Danielle Fishel

There's no.

0

253.782 - 260.888 Jennie Garth

So it's for the younger generation. Yes. Trophies for everyone. You just showed up. All it is, is quick, quick, quick.

0

260.868 - 284.378 Jennie Garth

the whole thing i set a timer and then i if like let's say it's will's turn i'm gonna set this timer i think the timer's for like 30 seconds maybe a minute okay and then i pull out these cards and i have to ask you to name three things each card is named three things so three things uh mice would be really good at

0

285.269 - 285.469 Danielle Fishel

Okay.

285.489 - 298.585 Jennie Garth

And you have to name three things that mice would be really good at. But like legitimately or? No wrong answers. Oh, okay. The only thing is to not have an answer and to take too long. So it's how many cards can you get through before the timer runs out?

299.566 - 299.746 Danielle Fishel

Okay.

299.766 - 300.387 Jennie Garth

You ready?

300.647 - 300.928 Danielle Fishel

Are you ready?

Chapter 4: What led Jennie Garth to write her book 'I Choose Me'?

357.359 - 380.024 Jennie Garth

One, two, three, four, five, six. I think like we max out around five. That's amazing. But I knew you would be amazing. All right, Danielle, you ready? So good. Okay, okay, I'm ready. Also, I am not late. Oh, don't think about it. Don't think about it. There's the only wrong answer is not answered. Three new ways to pronounce your name. Danielle Fischel, Danielle Fischel and Danny Fish.

0

380.044 - 415.548 Jennie Garth

Three things that make a party lame. People, drinks and snacks. Terrible. Three terrible materials to make a boat out of. Cotton, linen and DVDs. Three reasons a dog might bark. squirrels, firecrackers, and guns. Three things you would not want to be locked in a room with. Spiders, Will Friedle, and cats. Three physical traits an alien could have. Ears, long fingers, and green slime.

0

416.129 - 417.753 Jennie Garth

Three ways to impress a movie star.

0

419.636 - 420.238 Unknown

Yes!

0

420.478 - 439.002 Jennie Garth

Oh my God, I think you beat Will. One, two, three, four, five. Tied! Tied at six. Isn't it funny that the second you try and get clever, like the second you threw Wilfred L in, you said your brain stopped. Then I couldn't come up with anything else after. What was so funny is that you said three things a dog might bark at, and those three could have been the next one.

439.182 - 442.809 Jennie Garth

Because the next one was what you don't want to be locked in a room with. I was like, just say the same thing.

442.829 - 444.232 Unknown

Because there's like squirrels.

444.252 - 451.322 Jennie Garth

That's right. Wow. So who won when you guys were playing? I usually did, or me or Indy.

451.763 - 451.884 Unknown

Okay.

Chapter 5: How does Jennie Garth emphasize the importance of self-care in her life?

493.012 - 507.043 Jennie Garth

Three things you can do with a light bulb. And then you get caught and you're like, that's, I can't just keep doing that. Well, it's called quick. Yeah. Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick. Dumbest game ever. I love it so much. It's the greatest party game.

0

507.023 - 533.824 Jennie Garth

it's like just how much can you turn your brain off you know and just go with it and like it's genuinely hard for me like it's robin williams would be would have been amazing at this game amazing his wit would have been like yeah but it's also it goes through a curve like it starts off everybody's pretty slow you guys started off really fast usually people start off only able to get like three or four then they get good up to like five ish and then you start overthinking it and go back to like two because your brain's like well now i've i've run out it's so fun to play

0

533.804 - 550.581 Jennie Garth

That's funny. That is good. I know there were a couple of times that like, I would say something like when I said green slime, then as you were reading the next question, my thought was, that's not a, that's not a, that's not a, like, there's no wrong answer. You just keep talking. Yes. By the way. Yes. You're not late.

0

550.561 - 569.56 Jennie Garth

normally, which is good, but also being locked in a room with me would be awesome. I know, that is true. I just wanted to get back at you because you said I was late. And that's why it took you, it screwed you up a little bit because you were thinking about it. It's like, how do I, what am I, I'm going to say something mean about you. Say something mean to me, I say something mean to you.

0

569.62 - 573.144 Jennie Garth

Fatty McFatty Fatty. Yeah, everyone be in a room with you.

573.745 - 576.247 Unknown

Even though we spend all our time together.

576.267 - 597.173 Jennie Garth

We're in a buffet all the time. We're constantly together. Well, that was really fun, Ryder. I enjoyed that game. Thank you for sharing it with us. Quick, quick, quick. We'll do it again. Welcome to Pod Meets World. I'm Danielle Fishel. I'm Ryder Strong. And I'm Will Friedle, Ron Stoppable, Eric Matthews. You left out Batman. My God. You left out Batman.

602.84 - 620.639 Will Friedle

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, Nick? Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Yeah, a pretty wide range of podcasts. We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special.

Chapter 6: What insights does Jennie Garth provide about navigating fame?

621.04 - 636.257 Unknown

So how did we actually come up with the name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it, and... Well, we were thinking of originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.

0

637.779 - 640.022 Will Friedle

This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes.

0

640.042 - 641.083 Jennie Garth

I have a very different memory of this.

0

641.484 - 661.112 Will Friedle

We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, hey, Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.

708.038 - 720.681 Unknown

Listen to Humor Me with Robert Smigel and friends on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Humor Me. I need some jokes to make me seem funny.

720.965 - 746.001 Jennie Garth

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis, and I know firsthand because I competed there myself. I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis Podcast, I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garros. Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on clay. I mean, she went down in three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider to win the French, right?

746.221 - 765.784 Jennie Garth

And she likes clay. Listen, Lena Rabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I actually can win on any surface because if she's serving well, good luck. Consider this your courtside seat to the French Open. Listen to the Renee Stubbs Tennis Podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Chapter 7: How does Jennie Garth discuss the impact of public scrutiny on her life?

906.337 - 926.48 Jennie Garth

Her newest memoir slash self-help manifesto invites the reader into her real story of growing up on TV and facing Hollywood's impossible beauty standards, all while facing loss, heartbreak, and the challenge of motherhood. She's seen it all, and now in her 50s, she's aging with confidence and just learning to put herself first. Sounds familiar, right?

0

927.02 - 952.753 Jennie Garth

Well, let's commiserate now with our guest this week, a TV legend, Jenny Garth. Hello, Ryder. Hi. Hi, Danielle. Good to see you. Hi. Good to see you. Thank you so much for coming on our podcast. Our conversations, you and I, are usually confined to me telling you how cute your coat is at an iHeart party. That's usually the extent of the conversation. It's a passing. I'm like, you're so cute.

0

952.813 - 955.737 Jennie Garth

I love you.

0

955.758 - 956.138

See you later. Bye.

0

957.383 - 972.008 Jennie Garth

So we wanted to start by talking about your book, I Choose Me, Chasing Joy, Finding Purpose, and Embracing Reinvention. What was it about turning 50 that made you want to look back on your journey with a new perspective?

972.789 - 997.853 Ryder Strong

Well, I don't know if I wanted to. I kind of felt like I was forced to. You kind of reach an age where You got to make assessments and figure things out. You got to look back and you got to think, what do I want next? You know, I mean, we can't... Otherwise, I was just in a place of like wandering around lost with really no direction and no kind of like passion for much. I was just...

997.833 - 1015.489 Ryder Strong

really searching. So at 50, I kind of thought, you know, I have from 50 to 60, like, like, let's see what I can do. Let's like dig in and find all the places of things that I've always wanted to do, but never pushed myself or never, you know, really was brave enough to try.

1015.509 - 1031.505 Ryder Strong

And so that's kind of what was the catalyst for doing the I Choose Me podcast, doing the clothing brand, and then the book and the Women's Summit, like it's all sort of like under this This beautiful umbrella of choosing yourself.

1031.685 - 1048.95 Ryder Strong

And I'm, you know, just loving that everything's kind of connected back to the one thing that feels aligned for me and feels purpose driven and feels like I'm making a difference in people's lives, maybe one by two or one by one or whatever it is, but like, it feels more, more important.

Chapter 8: What lessons does Jennie Garth share about parenting and personal growth?

1263.642 - 1265.283 Jennie Garth

And did you have a nervous breakdown?

0

1265.323 - 1287.343 Ryder Strong

I think it was amazing. Last year we did it. We had an incredible slew of guests last year, one of them being Naomi Watts. And then this year we had Bozema St. John all the way to Valsh Markovsky, Tyler Merritt, just some really. And then, of course, my beautiful friend, Dr. Daniel Amen, who is a neuroscientist about brain health.

0

1287.323 - 1308.43 Ryder Strong

He came and just really kind of dropped the mic and gave everybody in the room some really serious things to start thinking about as far as longevity and taking care of our brain. So I loved having him there. But it is this weird, like, I build for it all year. And then all of a sudden, it's a week away and everybody's panicking. And we don't have the cups. And where's the backdrop?

0

1308.47 - 1313.196 Ryder Strong

And who's going to get the flowers? Like, it's all hands on deck for a good, solid project.

0

1313.176 - 1339.673 Ryder Strong

two weeks probably yeah but it went off without a hitch an incredible like i heart uh helps me produce it on the ground so it goes off like you know jingle ball or some like miraculous i don't know what happens but um and i feel like the women in the room it was a very like um we all felt like we were absorbing good things positive messages and i feel like everybody who was there

1340.716 - 1364.175 Ryder Strong

was there till the last minute like listening and just taking it in and enjoying that the camaraderie between the women everybody kind of like-minded looking for something what's next or how do i you know prioritize myself so it's just a great day of really important messages and people sharing their stories like you you know when we share our stories i've certainly found like when i share my story

1364.155 - 1381.944 Ryder Strong

whether it was talking about the book or things in the book or whatever. I've always been very sharing. Well, not always, but recently. But that's the thing. When we share our stories, we kind of have that moment of like, oh, that's how I'm feeling too. And now I feel a little less alone. Maybe I should talk a little bit more openly about it.

1382.004 - 1401.486 Ryder Strong

So it really is just about my goal with doing the whole thing. I don't need to make one single dollar. I just like helping people out. And that's the event that I feel like has a lot of impact because we're together in the room and it's all like planned for that, for you to leave with something tangible that you can take into your life.

1401.837 - 1404.621 Jennie Garth

Is there anything you can share with us from your doctor friend?
