Chapter 1: What is discussed at the start of this section?
This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed human.
Hey guys, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it, but you know. Tired and sick. Tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
I am the Therapy Gecko. I am an unlicensed lizard therapist who takes phone calls from real anonymous humans about their problems, such as this. Sometimes I'll have my girlfriend pre-chew spicy food and kind of baby bird it into my mouth. Is that weird?
This week on Therapy Gecko, we're hearing all real, authentic human stories about anything from relationships to family drama to serendipitous encounters with unexpected people and things. If real people pique your interest, this is the podcast for you. Listen to Therapy Gecko on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, everyone. This is Tati Mellencamp.
And Tamara Judge from Two Teas in a Pod. There's been one scandal that's consumed our lives these last couple of months. We're recapping the three-part Summer House reunion. And as always, we're being brutally honest. We're dissecting timelines, receipts, blind items, and previous episodes. Amanda and Wes, watch out. We're not going to be easy on you.
Listen to Two Teas in a Pod on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
June is Black Music Month, and on the Drink Champs podcast, we're speaking with the hottest names in the culture, like Swae Lee. Do you realize how legendary you are? I appreciate that. I be seeing it, but I'm like, man, I still got like so much more to do. Like Prince, he dropped like 30 albums. We dropped like five right now. That's the rate we got to be going.

Chapter 2: What unique themes are explored in the reality show?
It just makes me uncomfortable. Somebody needs to throw a pie or drop. I just but I just think also like human maturity, you know, by the time I hit my like mid 30s and like. settled down into like my identity. And I like the idea of talking this much crap about other people, like makes me very uncomfortable. Like, you know, I just, I tend to avoid drama, right? I minimize drama in my life.
It's like, that's the goal is like, Oh, if somebody is one of those people that calls attention to themselves or whatever, you don't hang out with that person that often. If there's always a fight at some get together, you don't invite those people again.
Yeah.
And that's obviously why they're doing it. But the other thing I realized as I was watching it is if you took every single one of these people, and de-age them to 13, the conversations would be exactly the same. Yeah. Yeah, it's very middle school. Minus the alcohol. I mean, it would be exactly the same. And again, it's not that I don't like this show.
I think I'm going to have a problem with the whole genre just because it just makes me very uncomfortable. And again, there's people I like and people I don't like. You've got to give in, man. You've just got to give in to that gossipy part of your brain. Just a sign.
I'm trying. I'm trying.
Try this on. You love Lindsay. Just, just try it on. Cause like, I've actually come to enjoy Lindsay.
I'm like, you know what? I actually do.
Like I've actually, you know what? Like throw some bombs. You know who I love? You know who I love? Who I've now seen for a grand total of three minutes, but I'm in is Ciara. Really? Oh, I loved her. I thought she was. She came in, and she was not only a breath of fresh air, but it was like, she was kind of like saying things like, well, then you're totally naive.

Chapter 3: How do the hosts feel about conflict in reality TV?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, you guys. Exactly what he was doing.
No, please.
You know what? What I was watching with the three of them. Look, I'm not team Amanda or I'm not saying any of that. I'm just saying I was struck by how the three of them very much just seemed like three good friends having lunch. And I was like, actually. Yeah, he definitely seemed like that. That's the whole point. If you seem like the guy. You know, feelings change, man. Feelings grow.
I was going to say. I was going to say, Ryder, you see the best in people. And it's nice. It's gorgeous.
So you think he's low-key sitting there going like, now I can move my way in on Amanda. Oh, yeah.
Well, I think I don't even know if it was that necessarily. I think he thought Kyle is being horrible to Amanda. Everyone's going to love Amanda. I want everyone to love me. So I'm going to be there for Amanda. And I'm going to hug her. He is diabolical, guys. He is. I swear to God, he is.
You just described a decent Prince Charming.
Just like Bond level villainy. Are you kidding?
Oh, it's Bond level villainy. Come on. I think, so you think he's thinking, now here's my question. I honestly, I honestly don't think he's thinking it through. I don't think I, and they, you know, we'll get to it in a second, but when they cut to her, they interview her in May. Yeah. For her confessional. What is she going to say? Well, yes, of course I had a crush on him.

Chapter 4: What are the implications of the characters' relationships?
Question for you. This is the first time we're seeing this guy. What are your first impressions of this dude? Of West? Yeah. I don't mind him. That's what I mean.
Like, I'm... I was like... Like, the way that the three of them, like, hold hands and they're, like, supportive and, like, the things that he's, like, asking about Kyle's feelings, considering Kyle's feelings, like, it seemed like a really... Like, it's actually one of the healthier conversations I've seen. Like, between the three of them, there's actually a lack of conflict in this scene.
So, here's my question, then, because I don't disagree with you. Now, Maddie, if... If we had watched Summer House for the 10 years or however long this guy's been on, would we have a different feeling of this guy? Or is he is this West?
This is West. OK, so he is insanely likable. He's great. He's putting on that persona on purpose because he knows what people want to see. And that is what kind of broke down in part two of the summer house reunion. Even Lindsay said she was like, you know how to reel people in. You know how to like turn on the switch.
and you do it perfectly so it's like everyone did love him until this so it's really i get what you're saying writer and will he's very likable so it's tough
I think the biggest, most unlikable part of this entire scene is the amount of Parmesan cheese that they put on their pizza. Don't get me started. What the hell is she doing?
I don't know.
It's like sitting there, pour, pour, pour, pour. I don't know. And I was like, Sierra, this is like a bit where somebody keeps pouring sugar in their coffee until it like overflows. I was like, this is a comedy bit, right? I was disgusted. I was like, it was also like one of 14 pizzas they eat in this episode. What's going on? This is a pizza episode. Yeah, crazy.
I don't trust her for that reason. I don't trust her. I don't trust her. I trust West, but he's not the one putting that much Parmesan. You tell him, like, he's kind of looking down at her while she's doing it. Like, what? That's probably why they broke up. All right. Ciara says that they are rooting for, we're rooting for you, Amanda. We are always rooting for you.

Chapter 5: What logistical challenges arise with moving and storage?
I'll take care of the cost for the storage unit. We're going to go through the boxes that you need that are absolutely essential. Then we're going to store some stuff until we figure out what's next. You can't just have 40 boxes delivered to your apartment. It's like, come on. What are we supposed to do with all this stuff? Well, it's interesting because none of it's furniture, right?
So she just moved her stuff. She just moved her clothing, essentially. It seems like it's mostly clothing. And makeup. Clothing, makeup, shoes. And wooden balls. And wooden balls.
And a lot of knickknacks.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, but Kenny can't say shit because he collects crystals. When he got on his crystal thing, I was like... I felt the same way. You know. I felt the same way. Like, he's got good style. Like, his place looks amazing. Oh, it's gorgeous. So, like, I understand.
Chapter 6: What emotional moments occur during the box sorting?
But I'm anti-stuff. Like, I don't want a lot of things. I don't like, you know, like, my wife is fine with stuff everywhere. And I'm always like, just throw it away. Get rid of it. I love stuff. But Kenny, you know, I don't think he has a leg to stand on because he collects crystals and seems to have a lot of stuff himself. Again, guesses on how much that apartment is a month.
You think that one's only eight, the size of that apartment? I figured that's like a $12,000 to $15,000 apartment. Wow. Yeah, that place looks huge. It's two bedrooms, right? They said they have a guest bedroom. They have a huge kitchen and all that.
Chapter 7: How do the characters navigate their relationships and conflicts?
That's a big-ass place in Manhattan. right.
Yeah.
I wonder where it is in Manhattan. They probably say, I just didn't. Yeah. Yeah. That's well, no ho is not, is that what they said? I think, but that's, yeah, he's obviously done very well for himself. So it's, I mean, that guy's got a lot. And also as a man who was lived the bachelor life for like 10 years.
And when I, especially when I was going through my anxiety, it was like, I didn't date around. I was just by myself for seven of those years to then have my wife move into me, move in with me. It's a big, it's a big move because you're like, All the stuff that I'm used to. And you got to make concessions where it's just like, okay, no, you got it. Yeah. You got to put your thing here. I get that.
You got to, it can't just be my house that now you live in.

Chapter 8: What insights are shared about the dynamics of the group?
It's got to be our home. So I get it. That's overwhelming. And that, but I mean, that is kind of what the scene becomes. They're going through all the boxes. He kind of, teasing her about her things, and she starts to cry. He hugs her. She asks him to be nicer, saying, you don't have to like all my stuff, but you can be nicer about it, which is fair.
But I also hope they cut some stuff out, because he said everything tongue-in-cheek, and the stuff he said wasn't cry-worthy. Well, she actually cries when he made the thing about how she needs friends to help her. So it seems like that's more of the thing that makes her cry.
She doesn't have friends and that seems to be a big thrust of the episode and the series so far is that she's made this move. I know nothing of this man. Nothing of this man other than what the audience knows and it seems like a big risk to move your whole life for this dude.
Really?
Yeah, really. This just seems like he seems like we talk about the boy and the party animal. And it's like that. It just seems. Yeah. And again, I hope he proves me wrong, but it's there's something shifty about this dude. I don't know. I mean, that's the cliffhanger of this episode. Yeah. But I actually I I don't. Yeah, I don't I don't get bad vibes. I'm like, OK, maybe I'm just too.
I see the good in too many people like I see good. I see good people. Yeah, like, I don't think, I mean, Frank is, Frank, is that his name? Yeah, oh, Frank's the best. He's the, I don't think he's a bad person.
No, I don't either.
I would probably dislike the most in real life. Oh, see, I think he's the best. You just, he's the guy who walks down the street no matter what's going on around him. His mental thing is just da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da. Like, oh my God, he's the best. I would say Gavin strikes me as slightly shady.
Gavin's probably the guy that I would get along with, but be a little like, I don't know if I would trust this guy. It's so funny. I just feel like I get the vibe of both Kyle and what's his name? The new guy. Both Kyle and Kenny strike me as the, well, and I could be totally wrong, 100% wrong. But well, now where I am in my life and in my business and everything, I need a wife.
