I'm doing well. Thanks for having me on.
Great to talk to ya. I gotta tell you my favorite thing about your sermon. That sermon is and I've never heard this before. I've never heard someone start with the gospel. Every sermon I've ever heard, it it goes, does Bible verse, and then you go through it and then it ends with the gospel message. You started with the gospel message. Is that a normal practice of yours?
I mean my heart, Mike, is just like I think I started that message with like, listen, things are getting dark. So you just gotta get on Team Jesus. The last thing I want is just to spit a lot of information and it to go to the head, but not to connect to the heart. And so my heart really is just to see people come to know Christ in a personal way. And then as you enter into that relationship with Christ, then you know, the the the information follows. So my heart was just like, hey, get on Team Jesus now. And then let's get into the information side of things. So Um that's that's my heart. Um but yeah, I pr I appreciate uh appreciate the compliment.
No, if more sermons start with the gospel and end with the gospel, uh, you know, twice as good. Um one concern that you brought up is something that a friend of mine has has had to deal with, uh, and that is especially younger people, but not even not exclusively, who have this w unfounded trust in AI almost as not only a word of authority, but like of God.
Why does Austin start his sermon with the gospel instead of a Bible verse?
Uh where a friend of mine's family member typed into one of the AIs. What would God want me to do in this situation? What's the problem with that?
I mean, it's a huge problem because we're supposed to go to God's word. I mean, first and foremost. Uh the Bible says in Second Timothy three that God's word is sufficient for rebuking, teaching, correcting, training in righteousness to make the man or woman of God complete. And so having uh the the enemy this is exactly how the enemy works. What he wants to do is he wants to gain your trust and he will then yeah um Satan plays the long game. So Satan is super patient. So he will pull us in with some trust. And then he'll start to weave in just enough lie so that we start to compromise entirely. I think it was Charles Spurgeon who said that discernment is not knowing the difference between right versus wrong.
Discernment is knowing the difference between right versus almost right. And so there's gonna be a lot of things with Chat GPT, artificial intelligence, all of these bots. It's gonna sound right. There's gonna be a lot of right woven into it's message. And so you start asking AI Bible questions. It's going to start start right. It's going to sound biblical. It's going to develop that trust. And then they're starting to start uh going to weave in just a little bit of of some compromise, a little bit of lie. And then it's going to lead to a full on blown deception.
My experience with AI is it goes out of its way to tell you what you want to hear or what it thinks you want to hear. Which seems to me to be a like an itching ears situation. To the point where it'll tell me something, I'm like, and I know that's not right, and I'll say that's not right and it'll say, Oh yeah, you're right. Sorry. Here's what I meant to say. So you're like, Jeez, man, what are we doing here? Is that is that part of the devil's plan?
Oh, absolutely. So it's it's trying to kind of test you at first. The enemy the enemy tests us. I was just reading in Matthew chapter four. Satan tempts Jesus and Satan knows scripture. So Jesus says, It is written, it is written, it is written. Every single time Jesus responded to Satan, he was quoting from the book of Deuteronomy and Satan's like, Hey, I can play that game too.
