Chapter 1: What was the flight from hell like for Chanler?
Well, well, well, we are back for another edition of Pop Apologist. Chandler, welcome. So good to see you. Welcome to you. You look bronze and glowy. I'm serious. You look like sun kissed and beach refreshed. I did land from... St. Bartholomew this morning, about two hours ago, I landed and I am getting on another plane in about three hours. So I'm flying to Utah today.
So it's a very hectic day for me. Um, but thank you. This town is primarily artificial, but I appreciate the compliment nonetheless. Well, um, I can't outdo you with that schedule, but I did, you know, I landed about 36 hours ago from a hellish day of traveling back from California and I'm wait, And I'm leaving again in one hour, basically two hours, I guess. Tell me about that flight.
I saw a little bit on Instagram, but then I was, you know, busy. So I didn't, or I don't know if you filled everyone else in. Did you, did you finish the tale? Oh my gosh, Lauren. Oh my gosh, Lauren. This journey day, this travel day, this hell day. Okay. Well, let's begin. We have to, you know, we book a flight from Orange County airport to Newark and
And that was, that was kind of ideal because I hate doing LAX. The other option is San Diego. And it's just the, both of those airports are very far. So we booked a local airport flight all the way nonstop back to New York. We paid a premium for this. All right. After the wedding. Cause SNA airport is not LAX. So it's a little, it's more expensive to fly out of there. Correct. Correct. Lauren.
Well, When we get on the flight, Ben says, oh, we're row 34. And I think, okay, towards the back, we're in the back. Once I pass row 27, I realize the rows are running out. So you could be the final row on this vessel. Exactly. We could be the final row. It dawns on me. I don't say anything.
And Ben kind of turns, I think he said, like, these were the only seats next to each other, which is, which is sweet. Cause I definitely don't like to sit apart for sure, but I wasn't really given the option. I didn't, I didn't know that this was, you know, what was in store for me. So I see that we're in the very last row and I'm like, okay, it's fine. I can do this.
You know, it's a nonstop five hour flight, you know, five and five hours, 30 minutes. Yeah. We sit down. I have no leg room. There's definitely no reclining, and I have no leg room at all. It kind of started to make me panic, just sensory-wise, panic, because I felt like a prisoner. I'm in almost like the chokie, where it's like I have no space, and I also couldn't move.
I had no space, and I knew I had to sit in this seat for the next five hours. Ben is a very chivalrous, and he always takes the middle seat. And I always take the window.
Okay.

Chapter 2: What did the sisters discuss about their Juicy Scoop appearance?
And so sometimes I'll be like, oh, do you want me to take the middle kind of halfheartedly? No, he doesn't take me up on it. But anyway, you know, I think he knew that I was like, I was not doing well. And he had booked these seats, this flight. So we go, we sit down, you know, I'm starting to talk myself off a ledge because I'm like, am I going to have my first panic attack?
Chapter 3: What exciting updates are there about Chanler's new Brooklyn apartment?
You guys, I, I fly economy all the time. I, I've flown first class like less than four times my whole life. I am not, and I'm not too good for economy. I just, the last row of seats, I think also on United is so grim. It's bearish. It's, it's bearish and it's, it's prisoner. Like it's, you know, it's like Guantanamo and definitely, um, a lot of people would say that a lot of people have said that.
Anyway, the next guy who's sitting on the aisle, okay, he's got to be 6'4". And he's a bigger guy. He's, like, just, like, tall and, like... And Ben is also not, you know, small of stature. And so Ben is a broad man. So you are really, like, caged in, suffocated by humans.
No, and this is when I started to feel like, am I going to have a nervous breakdown panic attack for the first time in my life? Like, am I going to need to, like, find a Xanax on this flight? Because I... Like it's the type of thing where you can't really bend down, bend over at all because there's not enough room for your body to extend.
So obviously like by the time we get to our seats, it's like the plane is locked in. Like, you know, we should be ready to go soon. Well, 20 minutes go by, the pilot comes on and he says, you know, we have, this flight is very full and we are overweight. And so we are going to hear back from the, you know, dispatch or whatever about what we should do.
Chapter 4: What are the latest developments in the Karen Read trial?
So we're trying to wait to hear what our plan of action is. Okay. Who here ate too much at lunch? I was like, I know I've just been at a wedding for a couple of days, but this feels pretty rude. But I guess I think it's actually mostly due to luggage because the flight was completely full. So... Oh, man. Lordy, lordy. Give me the strength to tell the rest of the story.
We then, you know, I won't drag this out, but what was supposed to be, you know, a 45-minute delay turns into two and a half hours. And the plane is so hot. Sitting on the tarmac. Sitting on the tarmac in row 34. Because the planes are so hot when they're on the tarmac because they can't, for whatever reason, the AC can't come on until they're taxiing.
Honestly, whoever is in charge of Boeing, Airbus, Lufthansa, like, can we figure this out? Because I was wearing a tight long-sleeve shirt and a bralette, okay? And I was like, I have to take off my shirt right now because I, thank God I was wearing a bra. I took off my shirt. I was so hot.
You took off?
Stop. You can kind of tell on the photo I posted. You were only wearing a bralette. Yes, Lauren. You could have been arrested for indecency. No. Was it lace bralette? Or was it like? No, it was a very frumpy bralette. So I don't think anybody was looking twice. And once again, you now with your new chest, you would get arrested. Me, not getting arrested.

Chapter 5: What happened with the Pantrygate scandal on The Valley?
OK, well, thank you so much for outing me, Chandler. Well, I've discussed this on the premium episodes, everyone. And you can hear more details about that there. Yes. Honestly, that's insane. I cannot believe that. You must have been, felt suffocated. Well, so then, yeah, I absolutely felt suffocated. I really was having to, like, take deep breaths to try not to start crying.
At one point, like, Ben kind of is starting to hit a wall. Thank God the flight attendant comes up to us at, you know, right as they're like, okay, you know what, we're going to actually take some fuel off the plane and then we're going to have to make a stop now in... Cleveland and refuel because we can't basically fly with a full tank of gas because it's too much weight.
So then we add, we get added, you know, we, we add a stopover and, but then thank God. So they're like, okay, we're going to get, we're finally going to get off the ground. It's been two and a half hours. They tell the guy next to us, there's a seat up in the middle of the plane. If you want to move. So then they move the guy. And he moves. So then Ben and I have the last row to ourselves.
And that was my saving grace. Did you and Ben continue to sit next to each other? No, of course not. No, we both like, I put my feet up on the middle seat for the whole plane ride. If that happened the case, I would have not wanted you to share it because that would be very unlikable. I was trying not to pick a fight over what he'd done because I just needed to vent.
I needed to release the emotion that I was feeling, but I knew it wasn't his fault that we were stuck there. You buried the lead. What had he done? Booked us these seats. Oh, oh, gotcha, gotcha. Okay, that was his error. That was his sin. Grave error. Wow. Okay, well, I'm so happy you made it back. You finalized some space and you're all good.
The worst part about traveling, in my opinion, is trying to feed yourself on these flights, you know? So we're in the very last row. It's been, you know, an hour of them trying to do snack service. And, you know, they give us our one bag of pretzels and a little ginger ale. And I'm like, I'm now starving. Because this whole day has been evaporated by our delay and then this flight.
And then you just feel like a rat because you're like, okay, I'll take all three of the snack boxes. But all three of the snack boxes have the most measly quantities of all the food. So it's like I'm scraping the bottom of the hummus container for 60 calories worth of hummus. It's awful, Lauren. It's food for ants, the portion sizes. It's for small children.
And you feel both corpulent and still hungry as you're eating like so many of them, but you're still not satisfied and you feel disgusting. No, exactly that. And if you have a broken brain like most women, you're then going to also shame yourself for the amount of food you've eaten, even though you've probably had max 400 calories. Right. You're like, I can't control myself.

Chapter 6: What insights were shared about Blake Lively's legal situation?
I'm being judged by everyone around me. There's trash everywhere. I'm a filthy animal. I've just spent $30 on snack boxes, and everybody knows it. Anyway. Chandler. It was grim. It's grim, and you're hopping back on a flight. What are you flying to Utah? United again. United. But I did book myself row seven, so I will be flying. I will be towards the front of the plane, thank God.
And it's just me. Thank God. I am flying American and I do feel like I'm risking the biscuit flying American because I have a connection. I'm flying from Puerto Rico to Utah today after this recording. And I feel like American is just kind of unreliable. Is the sentiment, do you agree? What airline? I don't even know about American. I know, I know. I just never fly it.
I don't even think I have an account with American Airlines. That's how desolate things must be for you to have booked American. It was the only flight I could get that would work with this schedule and recording a stunning episode for our listeners. We just want to say, first of all, everyone, thank you for being here. Thank you for listening to this show.
Thank you for potentially listening to our episode on Juicy Scoop, which was so fun. So fun. I literally, I don't know. I'm just so proud of us. It was like such a dream come true moment. I'm proud of us too. I'm pretty sure I gave mostly incoherent answers because I was quite nervous and you know, stumble over my words, but I'm so happy we did it. And it was a major bucket list experience.
So Heather was amazing. She was so sweet. Lauren, you did a great job. Also, I think that we always kind of have amnesia after we get done with one of these guest recordings where we like blackout and we're like, what did I even say? Was it good? I've listened to the episode. You sounded- Oh, you listened? Of course I did. Oh, thank goodness. First thing this morning.
Okay, I love that you listened. I love that you are not so sick of our voices that you can still listen back. Because for me, I've heard us speak so much in my times on this show that I tend to avoid it if I can. Let me be clear. You have to QA all of our episodes before they go live. So you are listening to twice, if not three times the amount of, you know, us content than I am. That's true.
I have a little more trauma than you. Should we move on to the celebrity topics? Well, I kind of want to share another update in my life. Oh, wait. Are you sharing your update? Why wouldn't I share? Why wouldn't I share, everybody? I don't know what update you're about to share. I feel like a lot is moving for Chandler right now. I'm just so excited that you're finally sharing something.
There are moving parts happening within my body, within my life, within my lodgings. Everyone, we have signed a lease and we are moving to Brooklyn at the end of this month. Chandler got a beautiful apartment. It is so stunning. It is a two bedroom, so you're gonna have much more space. It's a total upgrade in a lot of ways. It's, it's, it's definitely an upgrade.
There are obviously downsides, you know, anytime you move to a new spot, you know, you're not going to have the exact same, you know, perfect everything, um, as the place that you're used to, but it's a total upgrade. Like we will have two bedrooms now. Um, we are gaining about 300 square feet. Okay. So just everyone lock into that. Just imagine that in your mind's eye, 300 more square feet for me.

Let's get into the first one, which is, well, actually, I want to talk a little Karen Reid, can we? I mean, please. So did you see the police officer that Alan Jackson subpoenaed and called to the stand? I don't know if I caught this. After I left the Southern California Karen Reid headquarters, you know, i.e.
our mother's house, where she just has the trial, you know, playing out loud all day long. Yeah, I didn't catch the latest. Okay, well, I'm here to keep you abreast. So there's this police officer that apparently gave statements to the FBI that indicated that she believed that there was foul play on the part of the police, that there was some, like, colluding, okay?

Chapter 8: Who is Ubah Hassan's new fiancé?
Just so everyone knows, the FBI opened up a separate case... I should say a separate investigation into the police department to look into the gross misconduct and, you know, potential, yeah, I mean, foul play, whatever you want to call it. And so that's been happening in the background of both of these trials. But that case is not supposed to play a role in this trial.
It's supposed to be like kept totally separate and it's not supposed to be a factor in it. Which I find to be kind of insane because I feel like it's pretty material information if I'm on the jury that the FBI is investigating this police investigation. That to me seems like relevant information. I don't know. I don't know why it can't be included.
I agree with you, but I also think that because the investigation hasn't concluded and there's no concrete findings as far as I know, that it's not like they can, you know, look to that as hard evidence or truth.
And the other thing is that I'm sure if they were to find her guilty and then the FBI investigation were to come back and, you know, find the police department guilty of some gross misconduct or something, I'm sure that that would be, you know, just a very smooth road to an appeal for Karen Reid. Good point. That is a good point.
There are many ways of the justice system that I'm not privy to as just a lay person and non-officer of the court. So I will defer to the people who make the laws of the land. But the thing I will say is Is that this police officer who gave these statements to the FBI. So Alan Jackson called her as a witness and she was very hostile to Alan Jackson.
And basically like she is walking back those statements and And it seems like she has been basically, like, turned by the rest of the officers. That is how Alan Jackson is kind of painting it. And it's pretty convincing. So... This case just continues to confound.
I wish that we had the time and the bandwidth to do, like, a trial, you know, series on this because I am so gripped by it and there's not enough people, I think, honestly, doing trial recaps about it. And, like, I'm struggling to get all the information that I want. This may be a missed opportunity, truly, because they are televising it, too. I know, I know.
What I want to say about that, though, Lauren, is I just think that any person who wants to come out in defense of Karen Reed, who's a part of that community, will have to move. There is no way that someone in that community who wants to come out against the police department, I think, can stay in there. I just think it's too much like the mob or something. It's a mob with a lot of amnesia, OK?
Because this mob can remember nothing. When Alan Jackson is questioning her, she all of a sudden can't remember anything she said before. Maybe there's something in the water there, because also Colin Albert has true memory issues for a man his age. I think that the collective amnesia happening in Canton should be studied, truly. Something is going on there.
