Speaking of that, Sean, real quick, before we move on, how did the relationship get so fractured? What happened? Because I'm not in you guys' weight class, so I don't know exactly what happened. But how did it get so fractured to where you can't even stand being in the room with this guy?
Oh, man, that's a great question. I think it was first time I saw his face and I was like, God, I fucking hate that guy. I think that was probably the first time. Just I don't know what it is about him. I don't know if it's the fucking. Oh, I don't know. Can't stand the dude. Cannot stand the dude. He just rubbed me the wrong way. I know it's your guy. You might even have to edit that out because that's not nice to say. But the truth hurts.
So have you guys actually ever been in a room and actually had a conversation with one another? like an actual real conversation?

How did Sean O’Malley’s beef with Henry Cejudo start and escalate?
The very first time I ever saw him, it was 2000, probably 2015, 2000, something like that. Uh, he, he was training. He wasn't in the UFC at the time. Um, And we were in Flagstaff. Benson, we had a bunch of guys at the MMA lab that were fighting in New Mexico. So we were in Flagstaff training, you know, a little altitude. And I remember seeing him for the first time. And they were like, oh, he's an Olympic gold medalist. I was like, oh, cool. You know, some kicking pad stuff. Didn't have any interactions with him. That was the first time I ever seen him. And then the next time, fast forward a few years later, he brings in Alexander Pantoja into the lab when we were sparring. And, you know, you do your rounds and everything.
I fucking finished Pantoja with a little liver kick in the first round, and I'm supposed to go out the next round, but Henry's over there, standing on his tippy toes, yelling, we want him for round two! Pantoja just came off the Ultimate Fighter, and, you know, just won, and I'm a young, young pro, and... Yeah, so he's freaking out, saying, oh, he's going too hard. And then, yeah, that one didn't sit well with me either. And then round two goes by. Now round three, he's still freaking out. We want Sean for round three. So I'm this young pro going to a full fight off a guy who's coming off the Ultimate Fighter win. And Henry's just freaking out, blabbing his lips. And it was just a whole thing.
Oh, so this is like been years of just kind of little bitty situations and instances. Oh, I thought it was just obviously because you guys were just in the same weight class. And it's just that competitiveness of we might have to actually compete against each other. I didn't know this was all built up over time. And who knows?
Henry's retired now. He is retired in the old fighting world, but I might have to take him down. Put the old singlet on and take him down just for fucking shits and giggles. And RAF, huh? I mean, never said ever. He's supposed to wrestle Merab in Georgia or something. He was supposed to wrestle him a couple months ago. Pulled out day of. I mean, I'm not going to say anything about that. Then he watched Merab wrestle Frankie. And to be honest, I watched that match too. And I was like... It wasn't what I was expecting. Merab didn't look like this crazy high-level wrestler. It's fighting. It's a completely different game. Him fighting, his wrestling and fighting is so high-level. In just the wrestling, the pure wrestling.
Frankie looked good. Henry grew a pair. He's like, okay, you know what? Actually, I think I could compete against him. So he booked that. We'll see if he pulls out again. But it's definitely possible we see me and Henry wrestle someday.
You think obviously the Marat and Frankie performance, you think that's what motivated Henry to potentially now say, yes, I will go again?
