(00:00-22:18) – Query & Company opens on a Thursday with Jake Query, Jimmy Cook, and producer Eddie Garrison by briefly discussing the Pacers win over the Toronto Raptors last night. Additionally, they preview their upcoming conversation with former Pacers center Rik Smits and tomorrow’s conversation with Jermaine O’Neal! (22:18-45:01) – Former Pacers center Rik Smits joins the program to highlight what all he’s doing this weekend with the All-Star weekend, relive some of his favorite moments as a player against the New York Knicks, shares a story about getting in trouble one time for riding a dirt bike, accesses if he would be able to play in today’s NBA, and walks us through the process of when he was drafted second overall in the 1988 draft by the Indiana Pacers. (45:01-48:54) – Hour one concludes with Jake and Jimmy previewing Purdue’s game tonight against Minnesota. (48:54-1:15:59) – Tony East from Sports Illustrated, Locked on Pacers, WTHR, and Forbes Sports joins Jake Query & Jimmy Cook to provide some insight on the LED glass court that he was able to see today at Lucas Oil Stadium. Additionally, he praises Ben Sheppard for his performance in the second half last night, weighs in on Jimmy’s theory pertaining the Bennedict Mathurin’s status for this weekend in the Rising Stars Game and Skills Competition, and tries to predict what Doug McDermott’s sweet spot for minutes will be the rest of the season. (1:15:59-1:30:19) – Earlier in the shot Jake and Jimmy shared their thoughts on Purdue’s game against Minnesota. They continue that conversation following their conversation with Tony East with the focus on comparing Purdue’s resume to UConn’s for the first overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. (1:35:44-1:59:59) – IndyCar driver and NBA Celebrity All-Star Game participant, Conor Daly, starts the first hour of the show by sharing his giddiness with his partnership with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing for the Indianapolis 500. Additionally, he reveals how much time he’s put in leading up to tomorrow’s game, what all happens behind the scenes in the Amazing Race with he and Alexander Rossi being on it in 2018, and all the logistics that have gone into the game. (1:59:59-2:16:45) – Indiana Fever legend Tamika Catchings joins Query & Company ahead of the Rising Stars Game on Friday night to preview the night and teases that it could be the start of her coaching career depending on how it goes. Additionally, she reveals her excitement for the city this weekend, highlights the activities that will be going on around downtown, and if she’s more excited to see Kanon Catchings play for Purdue or Caitlin Clark play for the Indiana Fever.
