They touch on how they never felt like the San Francisco 49ers were going to win. Finally, they discuss what Braden Smith said about IU’s defense Saturday. (23:46-39:37) – Don Fischer, voice of Indiana basketball and football, joins the program for his weekly stop to access the blowout loss to the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, states that the game turned when Kel’el Ware went to the bench, weighs in on Braden Smith’s comment after the game pertaining to IU’s defense, tips his cap to the job Matt Painter has done coaching and developing his team, and dives into the inconsistency from game to game and half to half from Indiana basketball. (1:10:07-1:21:02) – For the first time since 1979, the Indiana State Sycamores are ranked as one of the top 25 teams in college basketball. Jake takes you through time of the basketball program and states that he would get an ISU tattoo if they upset Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament. (1:21:02-1:25:16) – The one o’clock hour concludes with Jake and Jimmy sifting through the college basketball rankings with a couple teams being ranked that they had no idea were having good seasons. (1:25:16-1:51:34) – Rob Blackman, play-by-play broadcaster of Purdue Basketball, tips off the final hour of the show by sharing his thoughts on Purdue’s second dominant win over Indiana, Zach Edey making his first career three-pointer, the efficiency in which Edey is playing with this season, Braden Smith’s comment about IU’s lack of defense, explains why Lance Jones gives him some confidence Purdue can play better in March compared to previous seasons, and if he’s concerned about being officiated differently come March. (1:51:34-2:03:42) – Earlier in the show Jimmy shared that his Chiefs fandom derives from his brother.
