What was your biggest takeaway from the Bears preseason opener against the Browns?
Vinny Rotino 0:20
Uh uh I think my biggest takeaway was Tyson I my headline in my Google Doc is Tyson Bajent rollout king. There was a lot there was a lot of that going on. We saw a lot of play action. Uh I agree with Ben Johnson. You know, we didn't see a lot of the run game, but we saw enough to give you some encouragement. So You know, Savan Ahmed, I feel like, had a great day. Um I I think we mentioned other other like, for example, on the defensive line, Neville Gallimore stood out. You know, there were there were some nice performances for sure in a 34-10 win. But for me, I think we're all still trying to figure out what's going on at left tackle. I didn't get any more answers based on Karan Amagaji. I thought he looked better based on what we had seen.
Vinny Rotino 1:05
out of him for himself if you're comparing him to him. But Jedrick Wills Jr., I I don't know that he's fully, fully, fully healthy. So I think that was probably showing. And Roshan Johnson made an appearance, friends. So how are they going to use Roshan Johnson? The number three running back discussion may be one of my biggest takeaways from from watching that game. Also we forgot to mention him. Shout out to Beanie Bishop who got two interceptions in the game.
Marshall Harris 1:30
Dose. Dose for him. Meanwhile I was uh fascinated with the play of Malik Mohammed. He's what stood out to me because I was worried about Malik Mohammed because everything indicated like, oh, it's really hard to adjust. And then if you want to play on the inside, that's just a whole nother level that a rookie shouldn't have to do. But we're looking at a situation if Kyler Gordon remains out If other guys remain out, then maybe he has to play on the inside and the outside and do all the things as a rookie. And you know what? He looked like he could do the job. Now, he had a couple of you know, gave of reception, I think a penalty on him as well. But but overall, he looked like he belonged. And I think at this stage, knowing you've got another couple of preseason games and plenty more training camp to get through
Marshall Harris 2:17
I don't feel as worried about him as a starter as I did A few days ago before I saw him in the preseason game, I get it. It's only preseason. Things are very vanilla. But If you wanna throw some sprinkles on top, he looks like a guy that is at least can do the vanilla stuff well right now.

I loved his that that's a great answer, man. I mean his uh his ability to tackle, his physicality was terrific. And you're right, he was imperfect. But I'm gonna go my biggest takeaway is a position group, and it was the linebackers. And I loved seeing Devin Bush out there. Good old number twelve. Um Does he
Vinny Rotino 2:57
get the Michael Bush treatment in the Dustin Rhodes Michael Bush treatment? Oh yeah, yeah.
Mark Grote 3:02
Devin Bush. That's up to Dustin Rhodes. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna step on old Rhodesy at this point, but he had a great stop early in the game. Like you you like to see that from a linebacker or defensive lineman where you kind of set that tempo early on a the third and two stop. Um DeMarco Jackson I thought looked really good too, right from the beginning. I think he did the first tackle of the game, four tackles in all. And And you know, he's gonna he played a big role last year where he had two massive weeks. He had the Pittsburgh week where he had the 12 tackles. He had the Cleveland game where he had the sack and the pick. Like this is an ascending player. So it was just nice to see it out there.
Mark Grote 3:43
Ruben Hippolyte looked good. I grew up Reuben Hippolyte had seven tackles in the game. And there was Jack Sanborn just being Jack Sanborn. with five tackles as well. So I enjoyed the if I had my one takeaway would be uh amongst a lot of things that went on in the game, but my takeaway is I enjoyed watching the linebackers play.
