Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
It's time for 5 On It. Rahimi Harris and Grody bring you five topics on their minds today. On 104.3 The Score. I got 5 On It. Number 1.
This is 5 On It. I'm Rahimi Harris and Grody. And it's brought to you by AlmostFreeTeeth.com. Save on dental implants today. Number 1. Cubs drop Game 2 to the A's 5-4 in 10 innings. On a scale from 1-10 on the worry meter, trademarked, how worried are you with the Cubs not stacking wins in this quote-unquote easy stretch?
I'm at like a seven and a half, maybe a 7.75. This worry meter is high because I know that the A's are better than their record indicates. Okay, first of all, don't pitch there. You're going to have almost a two ERA difference if you're Luis Severino. His ERA is almost two runs worse at home than it is on the road because it's open.
in center field and then it goes to a river and that's why the ball goes far so i know the a's are they're better than their record says because home field is not fun for them however i still thought the cubs would have more talent than the a's and were better than the a's and they should have taken two or three and that physically can't happen anymore so would i consider that plus the giants coming to town are the giants going to now use this opportunity to get right against the cubs when does the losing end
I'm not nearly as confident as I was last week when I declared the 10-game losing streak over, and then I realized that was even kind of crazy. So 7.75, if not an 8.

Chapter 2: What are the main concerns for the Cubs after their recent game?
I just can't be to an 8 yet.
7.75 is high.
Well, show me something, somebody.
What if I show you a pitcher who has a war of two already this season? That's JT Ginn. Hell State, by the way. Mississippi State product. That's who's on the mound against the Cubs as they try to avoid a sweep today.
That doesn't give me confidence.
Doesn't give you confidence. So on that old worry meter, I'm going to put it at 9.5. Wait, so you're like, oh, 7.7 is high level.
And then you just uno'd that to infinity.
Right.
No, and here's why. Because, again, I'm combing through this team's roster, specifically the pitching staff, and I'm wondering what's going to get better. Understanding that they're about to face, after today's game, whether they stop the sweep or not, the two teams with the worst records in all of baseball for 12 straight. Giants and Rockies.

Chapter 3: How do the Cubs compare to their upcoming opponents in the standings?
It's hard to remember that. It's hard to feel that. It's hard to put yourself back in the place when you were confident that the Cubs would come back from deficits because they always did. And then they would have...
pile on runs at the end of the game so that's the only thing that's keeping me from rising up a little higher but it is like adding on to the 32 and 30 factor of this cubs are and there are other ways to get into the playoffs we all know that the cubs won a series as a wild card last year uh
six and a half back right now it's getting ugly it's getting ugly in the division right now they have lost eight in a row at home and to your point too about getting right like are are these teams that are coming are the Giants going to get right Houston got right for a moment for a second against the Cubs at Wrigley Field wait a second what day did you say last year that the Cubs were going to win the division was it June 18th is that correct I
Do you guys know? Sounds like that was in June 18th. I think we ask this once a week and then forget the answer to it. No, no, no. Hold on.
Yeah. We need to know because you need to declare the Brewers the winner of the division on this day this year.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's a great idea. And thereby close. It was June 18th. All right.
So on June 18th, you need to close the portals.
Write that down, Butte.
Yeah, so then declare them the winner so that way the same fate will befall them.

Chapter 4: What are the implications of Micah Parsons' potential return for the Bears?
on Fox Sports 1. He is at Danny Parkins and he joins us on Twitch. Twitch.tv slash The Score Chicago from the Fox Sports offices. You're in the middle of Nick's fever. Are you not, Danny, being in New York? This is on 10 over there.
It is on 10. Thank you for having me. Am I in the mayor's time slot? Was he in on this time slot yesterday? Yes. Yes, you are. I promise you I will not say anything as intergalactically stupid as he did when he said that he left Bears Packers early. And he just volunteered this notion out of thin air. And Layla, Marshall, you guys are much, much, much, much, much, much, much,
more professional than i am because i would have seized on that opportunity interrupted him stopped talking about anything else and just been blown away by the lack of political instinct to admit such an idiotic thing he would have been better off saying you know what guys i came in here eating my hot dog with ketchup on it and i really came to the conclusion that new york skyline is better than chicago's and lebron james is better than michael jordan like what an
idiotic thing to admit unprompted i was at bears packers as you know and he's right the ingress egress as if that's a thing that people say is terrible but like you know what we did when we stayed till the end of the game and watched caleb williams beat the packers and have one of the greatest sports moments of our bears fan lives for anyone who's not old enough to remember the 85 bears as we were struggling with the ingress egress you know what we did
We celebrated and chanted Green Bay sucks, you loser. Like, what a stupid thing. You get a police escort. The game was on a Saturday. What did you have to do? Get an extra 15 minutes of beauty sleep so you could wake up at the crack of Kevin Warren and still lose the Bears? Like, what is the matter with that guy? Like, it is just, I couldn't, it is one of the most politically incompetent things.
Like, Mayor Daley sold the parking meters for a Bump sum payment of $1.1 billion. And he was like, that was a bad thing to say. Mayor Lori Lightfoot was like, that's not very likable. It was just a staggering admission by Brandon Johnson.

Chapter 5: What did Danny Parkins say about Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson's comments?
How do these people keep end up getting elected? What the hell is the matter with us? I could not believe that he offered that up voluntarily.
Yeah, the unsolicitedness of it was crazy. Because that's why I had to process what he was saying. I was like, wait a minute. I didn't even ask you about this. But he was like, I got a story to tell.
Egress, egress. Let me use a relatable example of why Soldier Field's a pain in the ass. I'm going to pick the best sporting event that that stadium's hosted in 20 years and tell you why I left early on a Saturday. what what is the matter with you like i can't trust you to do anything like i wouldn't trust you to dog sit omar like and i tried to trade him for deshaun watson like that is so stupid
It is no wonder, dude. No wonder. It's not what you guys were trying to get out of him. It's not why you asked him to come on. But it is one of the more revealing, insightful answers to anything, certainly in the history of this radio station and maybe in the history of Illinois politics.
Yeah.
Intergalactically stupid. I've been thinking about it. It's like a wormhole in my brain. And I'm just like, I can't stop thinking about it. I'm like, watching Karl-Anthony Towns go by Victor Wimpanyama. And I'm like, why did Brandon Johnson... left Bears Packers early. Like, it makes, like, Owen wakes up this morning, and he's like, do you want pancakes or scrambled eggs? I'm like, I don't know.
Brandon Johnson left Bears Packers early, and he decided to share that with people because he thought it would be a good idea to admit. Like, it's just, he may as well have come on and been like, you know, I really don't like that Barack Obama claims Chicago because technically he was born in Hawaii. Like, just like one of the most out of touch, insane admissions I have ever heard. And like,
Like, by the way, how has that not been revealed? You're the mayor of Chicago. How is there not cell phone footage or a security worker? I mean, the guy's approval rating is basically the ingress, egress of the stadium. How did we not know that he left Bears Packers early? Like, I couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe it. What's up?
Ingress!

Chapter 6: How does Parkins critique the mayor's decision to leave the Bears game early?
You know, just like him, Danny, we just wanted to let you cook. I mean, when somebody's on one, you've just got to let them go. So you were one of the one million people who watched Chris Emma's clip yesterday?
Yeah, and to be honest, you guys know how I feel about this story. I hate it. I have it, so I apologize. I haven't listened to the interview. I truly find the whole thing joyless. But I did see that clip, and I can't stop thinking about it. Hey, I know you.
Just go stupid. I know you're not Mr. Stadium. I've heard you poo-poo the topic right here on Rahimi Harrison Grody. Do you really not care where the Bears are? Are you one of those people that just show me where the stadium is going to be? I don't give a damn where it is.
I don't care at all. Listen, I think it's obviously hilarious how much Kevin Warren has clearly bungled it. Like, that is objectively funny to me because it's been a while since we've seen him, except he was in the statement for Caleb Williams being on Madden for some reason, as if he had anything to do with that.
So I do enjoy that piece of it because it's been a while since we've seen a photo of the inside of his Bible from some sort of, you know, have some media member in his back pocket to tell some sort of story
legendary story about how great he is shovels into ground 2025 by the way still waiting on it so like i do enjoy that level of schadenfreude to the whole thing but it's largely a story about whether or not the mccaskies are going to save money on property taxes like it it doesn't it No one has been able to explain to me why Bob and the 815 should care about it.
If you live close to Hammond, Indiana, it's more convenient for you. If you live close to Arlington Heights, it's more convenient for you. But I personally don't find it to be an entertaining story. And I try to turn to sports for entertainment. It's definitely a newsworthy story. It's definitely a big story. It's definitely a huge... huge story for the business of the Bears.
I get why the McCaskies care about it, but I just want to talk about Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams personally. I personally do not care.
But what have you just talked about for the last several minutes and it's been entertaining as hell?

Chapter 7: What are the latest updates on the Bears' stadium saga?
We'll have 10,000 runners come into Garfield Park. I couldn't tell you how pleased and how the support has been amazing from the community and just those three parks when we first looked at it, Humble Park, Douglas Park, and Garfield Park, and the boulevards, working with the city of Chicago that we run on. Amazing tour. It's just a beautiful, beautiful place.
And we start and finish in Garfield Park. And We are going to raise Sunday for the associated charities on the west side $500,000 as a result of this event. So the philanthropic piece of what we do, which is a pillar, obviously is apparent with this. And we're just getting started with 13.1. So nice compliment as we head toward the marathon in the fall.
I love that you raised that much money last year, the $339,000, and you're going even above and beyond. The growth is what's really impressive. And the fact that it's not just a race, but there's other stuff around the race that other people can be involved with.
Sure. It was important for our team to afford access. We have a walk where if people feel like they want to be part of the activity, we have a 1.31 mile.
walk around garfield park which is pretty cool uh we have a fitness fest where we have some vendors out there we'll have a shakeout run if you want to run uh two miles very easy to kind of warm up but also the peace runners are sponsoring that and they have a great club that's uh headquartered in garfield park that is um that has gotten people moving gotten people walking and running and we're seeing them the events across the chicago distance series so uh couldn't be happier
Yeah, that's the Westside Wellness Fest. We've talked about that on our station. And I do think there is something to just the encouragement of if you don't want to run a distance race, if you just want to get outside somehow and get moving, sometimes that's the hardest part. And this really encourages that type of idea.
Yeah. Absolutely. In the spring, when we kick off with Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle, we have a mile-run walk on Saturday where people can come down if they feel like they want to be part of it. It's very, very, very casual and enjoyable. And then a two-mile walk on Sunday with the 8K. So it's getting people moving.
You don't have to necessarily feel like you have to run the marathon, but if you're part of this group... There's such a network of running clubs and groups that are really promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. So we're so proud of that. That's one of the things that we're very, very happy with. Entry, free to get in, suggested donation, all part of it. Absolutely.
You come down, it's free and open to the public if you want to come down and walk. And if you want to make a donation, you can do that. So that's an alternative. But just going to look for a great weekend.
