It's a 9, and the only reason I didn't give it a 10, it's not like the White Sox got blown out in any of the games. We'll be right back. But not like that, man. Not coming from the momentum of the wins over Atlanta, the wins over the Dodgers. I know you lost two out of three to the Yankees, but the final win of that series was nice. You're supposed to act accordingly, and that is to be a competitive potential playoff team. The White Sox did not comport themselves that way this weekend. Starting with what happened yesterday, man. If you're a good team, your bullpen's got to be a whole lot better than that. You had a real chance. You should have won the Tariq Skubal game. Junior Perez hitting a home run.
You've got to win the game where Junior Perez hits a home run. You've got to win the game where Marshall's guy Sam Antonacci hits a home run on Saturday, and it just wasn't to be. It's jarring that the White Sox were swept by Detroit. 9. Nine seems low. I'm going to go 9.8. Okay. I'm going to leave the point, too, because I don't think there were any major injuries. I'm too tired to fight you. But look, 9.8 because the difference in losing two out of three and being swept is so big when you look at the standings. It's like, okay, this team gained a game on us because we dropped two out of three. But when you get swept, the team gains three games on you. That's how big that one game makes a difference. And the fact that the White Sox couldn't hold on to the lead in either game, Saturday or Sunday, in which they had the lead late.
You got Davis Martin on the hill doing his job. And then your bullpen couldn't come through. It is highly disappointing that now the Tigers may believe that they've got a shot to come back. And what you don't need is a crowded field of teams thinking that they're still vying for the AL Central title. And unfortunately, the Tigers, because of the sweep, now just five games out of a playoff spot. And we're talking about Minnesota being hot, winning seven of their last ten and two in a row. Listen, Minnesota right there as well, and understanding that the whole goal was to make this a two-team race as quickly as possible. Guess who's one game out of a wild-card spot? the Minnesota Twins. That tells you where you are, and the White Sox better stay above .500 one, because as long as you're above .500 right now, you have a wild card spot in the American League.
