Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
It's time for Five On It.
Rahimi Harrison-Roney.
Bring you five topics on their minds today.
On 104.3 The Score. I got five on it.
Number one.
We are coming to you live today from Sluggers in Wrigleyville for our ultimate home opener broadcast. Zach Zaidman will also be here for the official pregame show coming up at 1245. It's all brought to you by our friends at Circus Sports. Sports, betting the way it should be. Now here's question number one.
How many games will the Cubs win this season, and where will they finish in the NL Central?
Marshall is staring me down. So, Pocota says 90 and a half.
You and your Pocota.

Chapter 2: How many games will the Cubs win this season?
I think it's good enough to win the NL Central. And I know, I know. We say this, and it's almost become a tradition where we're like, oh, what devil magic did the Brewers partake in this time around? And I know that was traditionally a Cardinals term. referring to one of their whiz-bang prospects that suddenly became something amazing.
I do not think the Cardinals have that kind of magic this year. And I think because of the fact that the Brewers finally had to get rid of some big pieces, a.k.a. Freddy Peralta, for example, Caleb Durbin, I still think the Cubs have a better roster. And if the Brewers don't outperform expectations... They do that every year.
Which is hard to count out.
Typically, teams do the opposite, where they underperform.
I am calling for it right now.
No, I'm just kidding. No, do it.
No, don't.
Please don't. Okay, so that's my judgment. But then again, I also said Yankees and Dodgers yesterday, but that was just because I didn't want to say Blue Jays, but I really feel like the Blue Jays might win the American League.
All right, here's the rub, Layla. Here's the rub.

Chapter 3: What factors influence the Cubs' chances in the NL Central?
So you got even tighter than I have it.
I do. Can I just throw this out there? What would even give you reason for pause this time around? Like, that's what I'm getting at.
Because you just, I mean, like, we joke about it.
Outside of a 21-game win streak.
We joke about the Brewers and their stars that are always rising and things that we don't think about during the season, like, I was so confident in May last year that I put the Brewers away and I don't think there was a lot of pushback at the time. Now as time went on that prediction was really bad but you just can't count out the Brewers and what they do so I'm giving them a little respect.
I am picking the Cubs, but the Brewers right on their tails two games back by the time this season ends. Also, what gives me pause is Jacob Mizorowski's existence and the idea that he could be a frontrunner for Cy Young award winner and he might win 20 games. I don't know.
I don't know because Shohei Otani is pitching again.
Brewers have a really good bullpen too, kids. They have a good bullpen. Great bullpen. That's kind of scary.
So nothing's scary. Awesome.

Chapter 4: How will the White Sox perform this season?
With Moises Ballesteros, who was a close second on this, there's a lot of other talented rookies that might get... better opportunities because of the roles they're going to play on their clubs as opposed to Ballesteros not having to be a top flight guy on his. Well, if you won't do it, then I will. I think Moises Ballesteros has the best chance of picking up hardware for the Cubs.
The Cubs simply don't have MVP candidates on this team unless somebody really overperforms. The Cubs have a roster of really good players that can win a lot, but there's not one I guess the wild card is PCA because none of us really knows what to expect out of him. If he could do something similar to what he did in the first half for the entire season, then maybe we're cooking with something.
But keeping it realistic, yeah, I don't think the Cubs or the Sox have a chance at Cy Young, so rookie of the year would be the only one. And now we go to Moises Ballesteros.
Yeah, I was surprised to see the five votes for Murakami. I thought that that was pretty impressive.
The guy was a tremendous power hitter, and I can confirm, hit 56 home runs in 2022. So I get it. That's what it's all about, projecting players, projecting what rookies might do. But I'm also, at the same time, I'm a little worried about Murataka Murakami just because is he major league ready? Can he actually be that power hitter at this level that he was in Japan?
can you turn on something over 93 miles an hour?
Yeah, and his swing and miss was one of his issues, as is obviously normal with power hitters, but that is a concern about him coming into this year.
Are you saying he should also stop swinging at garbage? Stop swinging at garbage, Peter! Now we're impersonating the guy impersonating Willis.
If he just goes deep off of Mizorowski, of course, all this changes.

Chapter 5: What are the predictions for the White Sox's win total?
I'm still waiting for the big Wagler game too. So my confidence is at an 8. A little surprise party down in Houston tonight for the Illini.
It's a game we all want to watch. It's going to be exciting.
