I gotta admit, I am officially now on defensive watch and defensive alert. So I was curious to hear two Well, yeah, was the defense not bad in week one? If we're gonna give all the offense all this like legitimate love, what we're not gonna be critical of the defense?

So I'm already thinking about how the defense can be better, what was good, what was bad. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna start with something good that Ben Johnson talked about as it pertains to the defense. And I don't think I did a very good job of praising Dylan Thieneman. First game of the season yesterday, and I will do it now. The man had 10 tackles in the game, so he was properly praised. Pat Manley did too. Made some mistakes.

We all saw a missed tackle by him early in the game, and there were some other spots throughout it, but a terrific game for a guy that you are depending on without Kobe Bryant in that safety area. Dylan Thieneman, very good game. He also mentioned Ben Johnson. Cam Lewis, and shout out to him because it was before the game that Xavier Woods, they were they were trying to get him ready. The hope was that he would play, couldn't go. Cam Lewis finds out that he is going to play in the game, played pretty sound, also praising Malik Mohammed. I do think we did a pretty good job of talking about Malik's game yesterday, which was very good. As for the two guys that stood out as having some issues yesterday,
He did talk about Jalen Johnson and Tyreek Stevenson as well. And basically Ben Johnson said said it right that both of them know that they can be better, and said that both did have good camps, to which I can attest in the times that I was at camp. And we saw it in the preseason as well.

They did look good. And it is heartening to hear as well, Layla, now from two sources from Patrick Maniley and Ann Heron that it doesn't appear to be a physical thing with Jalen Johnson, which I think is fair to worry about considering the injuries last year.

When you're when you're thinking about anticipating a router, anticipating how your receiver is gonna move, especially if you're say traveling, because I do think that minimizing Tetaro and McMillan's targets was a focus for them. And that it it's especially worked, I think, through three quarters. Now we didn't work with Coker. Yeah, I was gonna say it didn't it didn't stop Bryce Young and it didn't stop the offense. Office. Ultimately, but that did seem to be a point of focus. But it was nice to hear because did you lose a step because you're thinking, or did you lose a step because you've lost a step physically? That's something we're gonna have to track.
