Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
This hour is brought to you by Chicago Golf Show.
Chapter 2: What are the latest developments in the Bears' stadium situation?
Have you learned anything new today about the Bears' effort to build a new stadium?
You know what? No. Like, okay, maybe Cam Buckner, right? But not from the meeting and all of that. Also, because it's been going on during our show, and there's only so much we can keep track of. And I would like to also keep track of real football stuff. And by real football stuff, I mean fake hypothetical trades. Because that's what the NFL Combine is all about for me right now.
You got all that? I do not. I have no idea what I just said.
CHGO's Adam Hogue joined us at 1125 and he was watching it. Did you glean anything from what he had to say or are we still in the same state?
Yes, I learned that the city of Chicago entered the chat was like, you know what? You guys are competing with us and we disagree with this. And I was like, wait a second. What was all that diplomacy talk? But I get it in the spirit of shoot or shoot. I guess it is true that the Arlington Heights move would take money away from the city of Chicago where Soldier Field is. So it's not wrong.
It's just there. I guess they had to have somebody say it on the record.
The Bears continuing to play in Chicago has become a pipe dream. But I learned today that there are people who represent the city of Chicago that want to make it more than a pipe dream or at least get something out of it for the city of Chicago.
You know, I learned hyphy rap music because I didn't know that term and how it associated with E-40.
Yes, I learned that, but that's not stadium-related, unless E40's coming to play at the new stadium.

Chapter 3: What trade interests are the Bears exploring for DJ Moore and Tyson Bagent?
But you're right. There's a lot of people who don't listen to us and don't care and don't want to know. But it's like you're going to have to know at some point because it's going to affect your bottom line.
Number two. This question goes out to all my Maxinistas out there. According to a friend of the show and Pro Football Talk creator and editor-in-chief, Mike Florio, the Raiders would be looking for two first-round picks and a player if they were to trade star pass rusher Max Crosby.
Now that we have a specific idea of the type of compensation Las Vegas is seeking, do you think the Bears should enter the Max Crosby sweepstakes? That's the sweepstakes spell.
Yeah, but I'm going to need somebody real tricky and smart and slick to help me figure out the salary cap then. Because Max Crosby is due $35.79 million. Would you like to hear the rest of the Raiders who are highly paid? By the way, it's a pretty compelling list. Like it was one where Marshall and I were both going, wait, what? The highest paid Raider is Max Crosby at 7.91%.
The second highest paid Raider is Geno Smith at 26.5%. The third is their left tackle. Remember what we said about the left tackle store? Colton Miller makes 22.54%. Jeremy Chen, the safety, is at 9.55. Ashton Gentry is their fifth highest paid player at 8.15.
Wait, wait, give me that Max Crosby number again because I know what you said is not the reality because you said 7.91.
35.791. There we go.
Yeah, the 35. Yeah. Listen, should they enter the Max Crosby sweepstakes? Sure. I think they should actually just go out and win the Max Crosby sweepstakes. Pay the picks, send them DJ Moore, and call it a day. That's my proposal. If the Raiders are amenable to those terms, the Bears should go get Max Crosby and do what you have to do to figure out the cap. Restructure, cut Tremaine Edmonds.
If DeAndre Swift has to be cut... So be it.

Chapter 4: How does Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker view the Bears' stadium proposal?
But what was everybody saying? All of a sudden, losses looked like wins and that they were a considerable Super Bowl contender, a legit Super Bowl contender. Max Crosby on the Bears? After nearly making it to the title game? What would you call that?
Oh, the Bears should be Super Bowl contenders. That's the point. Go win the Super Bowl on Caleb's rookie contract. Go do it.
What can you build then, huh? What kind of capital would you have from everybody then?
Number three. This is Five On It with Rahimi Harris and Grody, Layla and Marshall. On MLB Network yesterday, Jake Peavy and Sierra Santos made these season predictions for two Cubs players.
And a bold prediction for you. I think their closer is going to play a huge part in this. They're going to do a lot of winning. Daniel Palencia is ready. I watched him in the playoffs last year and down the stretch. Bonafide closer. He's going to lead the National League in saves.
Okay, I've got... A bolder one.
All right.

Chapter 5: What insights does NFL insider Jordan Schultz provide about Bears players?
All right. You ready? You ready for it? I'll lay it on you. Okay. DSP Swanson. 30-30 season. I love it. Okay. Here's why. Hear me out. Hear me out. Career highs and stole the bases last season. He also had 24 home runs. All right. That's the most he's had since he left the Braves. And he's got the X Factor. Dad strength. It's a real thing, right?
Jake Peavy predicts Daniel Palencia will lead the NL in saves, and Sierra Santos predicts Dansby Swanson will have a 30 home run, 30 stolen base season. So, I ask the question, on a scale from 1 to 10 on the confidence meter, trademarked, do you see either of these two stats happening?
Okay, so I just want to offer this. Robert Suarez led the National League in saves last year for the San Diego Padres, a team notoriously known for having a ballpark that resulted in two-to-one ballgames for infinity. a.k.a. save situations aplenty with the Marine layer just dragging hits down.
They move the fences in, but there's still a lot of opportunities for saves on the West Coast, whether it be AT&T Park, Dodger Stadium, somewhat the Big A, but not as much because it's more inland, and San Diego that's right on the water. He had 40 saves. So I don't think Daniel Palencia touches 40.
As much as I would like to, as much as I think that would be cool, that bullpen, as we know, was lights blanking out. That was one of the best bullpens I'd seen in years. So I don't necessarily know that Daniel Palencia could do that. That's high praise from former Padre Jake Peavy, but I'm not sure. However, it might be more likely than the concept of Dansby Swanson hitting 30 home runs.
That's a number that I can't wrap my head around. He was good for 24, though, last year. But there's something about getting to that extra mark, the 30 mark, that can be so elusive for people. Did I like that Dansby Swanson hit lower in the order? You know, he hit a lot more home runs than he did the year before. 2024, he only hit 16. That also just requires a lot of effort on the stolen bases.
He had 20. It's the extra mark that makes it so much harder for me and so much more elusive. You can get to that range, the 24 and 20, but to get to 30 and 30 is a real challenge.
Yeah, Sierra Santos cited dad strength.
Which we talked about with his home runs. And I do think it matters. But I just don't know if it's going to be enough. So perhaps Palencia has a closer chance to touching Suarez than Dansby has to 30-30.

Chapter 6: What are the implications of the NFL Combine for the Bears' roster decisions?
To steal bases, you got to get on base. He doesn't get on bases a high enough rate to get to 30 steals. He will not be a 30-30 guy. He'll be lucky to be a 20-20 guy next year since last year was the first time he's ever stolen 20 bases. Number four.
I forgot how many saves Andres Munoz has for Seattle. Last year he had 38. Jeez.
I mean, I'd take 20 stolen bases from Dansby again, you know? So would Dansby.
I'd take 24 and 20, sure. More hits overall, but yeah.
Hey, question number four, moving to the other side of town. Do you think White Sox infielder, Lenin Sosa, can surpass the 22 home run benchmark that he reached last season?
I did not expect a Lenin Sosa question today.
You're welcome. But you're going to enjoy it, aren't you?
You know, I wanted justice for Lenine Sosa back in the Tony La Russa days. I just didn't think he got a fair shot in his rookie season. I see you nodding. Tell me what you think first.
Of course he has a chance. He's going to be in a freaking Maulers lineup. Are you kidding me?

Chapter 7: How does the Bears' trade strategy affect their future draft picks?
I don't know why he can't. I think it's just a matter of finding a regular role for Lanine. So I know he played at third base too. So I feel like this is... Why not? Why not Leneen?
Do you want me to name all the guys who are going to hit 20 home runs next year for the White Sox?
Sure.
Leneen Sosa.
One.
It's going to be Miguel Vargas. Two. It's going to be Andrew Benintendi. I'm sorry. Did you say something? The guy who hit 20 home runs in 116 games last year? Playing every day out there in left field?
Wasn't that high for him?
Mune. And Colson Montgomery. All those guys are going to hit 20 bombs. The White Sox are going to get more home runs than the Cubs. Write that down.
No, I'm not writing it down because I don't believe it. Okay. Who are you betting with on this?

Chapter 8: What are the challenges facing the Bears in negotiations for a new stadium?
Because it's sad. You just see me like loafing to the end. Do you know there are those people who make it look like it's really athletic, but they're still slow? Like they're doing the real-time chariots of fire? That might be me on the 40. But the drill I would like to do... is I wish I had hops, man. Like, I wish I had a vertical.
I would love to do just the one where, you know, they measure your vertical, even though it's not really a drill. Or the gauntlet, where, you know, you can catch a ball through any, like, the receiver drill where you're weaving, and you can catch on either side, and you use your torso a lot to, like, twist in your hand-eye coordination. That's the one that I would like to do.
But the one I know I could complete is the 40. I think I might fall down if I did the gauntlet. Like, you think you've got the coordination. You do. But I guarantee you there's a higher rate of falling down than you might think.
You know what? Take me straight to the freaking Wunderlich and turn me loose. That's what I want. I want the Wunderlich. Give it to me. That's the drill.
I've taken the Wunderlich. That's not a drill. It's a test.
Yeah.
That doesn't measure my athletic ability, thank God.
But it's the Wonder League. Is that not something that everybody does when they go? Yeah, I mean, it does. It's true.
They don't value it as much though now, do they?
