The SCORSCO! This hour is brought to you by Menards.
Save big money at Menards. And the Bears and whatnot.
Yeah. It's time for five on it. Rahimi Harrison Rhodey bring you five topics on their minds today. On 1043. Number one
This is Five Onit. This is Raheemy Harris and Grody. This is 1043 the score. We're broadcasting live from the Kobe Bear today. Courtesy of our friends at Yingling ahead of the Crosstown Series finale. If you're going to the game, stop by and say hello. The place is packed. Come and say what's up. We'll be here until 1245, followed by Zach Zaman's pregame until first pitch. It's all brought to you by Yingling Flight, the next generation of Light Beard.
We got a Pope hat in the house. I was waiting for I was waiting for somebody to bring the first Pope hat. It is here. No,
I think that is the Pope. Somebody was taking a picture with them. I think they thought that that is the Pope. Pope, provost?
Brody, stop trying to get us struck by lightning.
Hey, Bob? No, I don't know. Maybe it's not him.
The Pope. This segment is brought to you by almostfree teeth.com. Save on dental implants today. Here's our first question. From the Cubs perspective, what was the best aspect of the 4-3 win over the White Sox?
I'm sorry, Alex Bregman. I think you did a tremendous job, especially with two-out hitting. Hits of consequence. Hits that win your ball games. But my award goes to Javier Aside. His three innings leaves after the strikeout of Andrew Benintendi swinging, pumps himself up as he goes back to the dugout. That poor guy has been shuffled back and forth between here and Iowa more than any. Any person should. And the last time he got shuffled so much he didn't even leave Chicago. I cannot imagine how difficult that is mentally to have to deal with. Javi Arasad did everything ask of him and more. Three innings of shutout baseball, only two hits. He had two strikeouts, but most importantly, he answered the call yet again.
So for me, all the flowers go to Javi Arasad, but also Alex Fregman, but for me it's Javi.
Yeah, shout out to the Cubs, only Mexican player, by the way. Your boy Your boy Ray Diaz appreciates it. Vamos
Javier.
See, see. Yeah, for me, I I am gonna go with Alex Bregman. He's now played 17 games in August. He's hitting over 300. His on base percentages 395. And he's slugging five eighty-two. And when it came down to the clutch, the man getting paid all the money, he delivered cash money in the bottom of the ninth on the walk-off. This is what they need Alex Bregman to be if they're going to achieve their season-long dreams of going to the World Series and I don't know, maybe even finding a way to win that thing. Alex Breck Alex Bragg
Alex Bregman went to LSU. I see the cash money reference there. I see what you did. Bling bling.
It's uh Alex Bregman for me too. I mean, he saved the day twice for the Cubs in that game yesterday. The in the seventh inning, the gaming, tying single off Grant Taylor, who was absolutely dealing yesterday. That was massive. And then he saves the day with that game when he hit in the ninth inning because it wasn't going well. Uh Carson Kelly had gotten a double to lead it off, and it felt like they were gonna waste it.
What was the best aspect of the Cubs’ 4‑3 win over the White Sox?
Michael Conforto with the strikeout. PC Thank you very much, Will Venable. Uh saves Suzuki then with that meager little pop out that Mutataki Murakami makes a really nice play on, and you're like, oh man, we're gonna be here all night because some of us stayed up. Um so not me, not me. So I mean
I did.
Rain Delay, I'll see y'all in the morning. So maybe that's why I'm actually giving Alex Bregman the flowers. Everybody got to go to home. Everybody got to go to bed. A sharp single up the middle. And man, this guy's gonna be here for five years. It's been a rough go getting started for him. It was just so important to see that when the stakes were high. It's Alex Bregman for me.
On
it. Number two.
From the White Sox perspective, what was the worst aspect of the 4-3 loss to the Cubs?
I think from the White Sox perspective, the worst aspect of the loss was the fact that you had to shuffle your pitching staff yet again.
