Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
This hour is brought to you by Cars for Kids.
Number one.
You're listening to a Plumbers 9-1-1 Football Monday presented by Bucy Bank. Here's question number one. Which bear had the best game and which bear had the most disappointing game in the season-ending loss to the Rams yesterday?
It was the best of times. It was the blurst of times. I don't know why that came into my head. Just a lot of Simpsons references yesterday. Okay, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm just going to send it. I think the bear that had the best game outside of Caleb Williams, because Caleb Williams is number one for me.
Are we not doing Caleb Williams as part of this?
We are, but I just want to give him a mention as well.
Oh, okay.
Jaquan Brisker. Jaquan Brisker studied the film. He, you could tell, was not phased by a bunch of the banana in the tailpipe tricks the Rams were running. As you mentioned, I feel like he ended a single drive on his own. Like, single-handedly. He was like, oh, I'm going to be pass rushing on this down, and then I'm going to have a nice pass breakup, and then now your drive is over.
So, I just can't get enough of what Jaquan Brisker did yesterday defensively. I thought he was such a key cog, and that is not to take anything away from the rest of the defense, but...

Chapter 2: What were the standout performances in the Bears' loss to the Rams?
When you see a player rise to the occasion like that, and Kayla Williams did, I'm not omitting Kayla Williams. I'm just adding Jaquan. This is not a takeaway thing. This is a plus thing. So I feel like because of that, Jaquan Brisker just had, when you can change a drive, you are a game changer. That is how that works.
And there are some players that I feel like we haven't even tapped into the potential yet on the Bears for guys who can rise to the occasion in the playoffs. We haven't been to the playoffs enough to know what that roster looks like on this team, who those guys are who rise to the occasion. You know about guys like Joe Tooney? Because frankly, they've got the playoff experience.
So to see that, for me, it was... Jaquan Brisker, at least deserving the honorable, mentioned what we saw out of Caleb Williams. Which bear had the most disappointing game? This is where it gets tough. DJ Moore caught the touchdown pass, so can you say it's DJ because of that final play? I don't think I can. Was it Colston Loveland because he had more drops than expected?
I hate to say it, but it might be on the rookie for me. Just because I thought he was going to be more of a factor, unfortunately, than he ended up being in the game.
Okay. I hear you. I understand the Jaquan Brisker pick. Guy led the team in tackles and was a force beyond. I'm going to say, though, I expect Jaquan Brisker to do big things because he's been here all year. I did not expect Kyler Gordon to give me what Kyler Gordon gave me based on missing so much time and also the fact that he looked a little rusty even last week.
So for him to come up with the sack, the tackle for loss and quarterback hit, like for him to do the things that he did in this game and to be kind of a factor in the run game as well. And I don't know why Sean McVay didn't lean on the 13 personnel more than he did, because that's kind of how he, you know, separated himself. But if you're looking at reasons why they held the top position.
Scoring offense, the top total yardage offense is just 340 and a 20 points. I think Kyler Gordon's got to get a touch there, so I'm going to say he had the best game given the circumstances. Worst game, you're talking about rookies. What about guys who've been here for a minute? Looking at Roma Dunze. Two catches on six targets.
I know he had the big catch on the sideline, but he had the drop of the touchdown pass, another drop. Two catches for 44 yards in a game of this magnitude. And you look how far down he is even in targets. And I know he's hurt. But Luther Burton had seven targets. Cole Komet caught all three of his targets. Kyle Menunga out of the backfield caught all four of his. You mentioned Loveland.
He only caught four of ten targets because he had drops.

Chapter 3: Who was the most disappointing player in the Bears' game against the Rams?
Williams to Mnangai for a catch and run for 16 yards, which was beautiful. Swift had a nine-yard run. Along comes the fourth and one, and this is where they started to get predictable. Kyle Mnangai was not looking good in those short yardage scenarios, and he got shot back right there. The Bulls, Bulls, Bulls. The Bears. Bulls. We'll talk Bulls.
This is Marshall's time to shine, ladies and gentlemen. But that was just a bad moment for the Bears, I thought.
Number three, this is 500 on 670 to score with Layla Rahimi, Marshall Harris and Mark Grody. And here is question number three. How surprised were you by the defensive showing by the Bears?
I was very surprised. I'm going to be honest, because the numbers told us and the tape told us and the stats told us that Matt Stafford against the Blitz is the best in the league. and the Bears on a slick surface at Soldier Field.
The Rams were on it too, but still, that's going to mean that you lose a step when it's that cold, and it is that unforgiving of a surface that you're standing and playing on. So add to that the fact that the guys who usually help you on your blitzes are in the secondary, like Kyler Gordon playing in his second game coming off of
injured reserve, or for example, Jaquan Brisker, who I don't know that you could necessarily afford to lose with the safety help up top. And for them to still be able to blitz with Kyler Gordon the way they did and add pressure and try to fool Matt Stafford, I was...
pleasantly surprised to say the absolute least I think Dennis Allen deserves all of the credit for sticking to a game plan that he knew his team could execute and it's it's one of the brightest spots for me and it's frankly the reason I am sad that that performance didn't end up with him in the NFC championship game today
I think that's a fair response, the sadness knowing, man, this could have been a contender. And, like, understanding if you can win this game, you got a good chance of winning the next game if you did this game. Except for the whole having to go on the road to face Seattle and that defense, which is scary.
Yeah, what was all that Niners are a threat talk?

Chapter 4: What were the critical fourth down decisions made by the Bears' coach?
Here I am now, as Kurt Cobain would say, entertain me. I'm going to lay on my couch. Dave the Cat's going to be kicking it, walking around. Sitting in front of the TV. He'll probably be sitting in front of the TV. You're going to treat it like a Bulls game is what I heard. I'm going to treat it like a Bulls game.
All right, so I'm stressed again. We'll see what the heart rate is. No, artery ball.
Layla, call me if you need to. Dave and I will set up a very relaxed atmosphere for you or either of you guys. You want to call me? You want to stop by?
I got you guys. You know what I'm going to do since Mitch and Ryan and maybe the Take the North podcast, I don't know, got us pizza today? DTN. It's like setback sweetener, but it's pizza. DTN. I'm going to watch the game on the treadmill. I got to put this energy somewhere. And watching sports on the treadmill does make me run faster.
Will you listen to System of a Down?
No, I'm going to watch the game. But like, seriously, my heart rate was at 100. It's artery ball. I'm not even watching football. I'm up.
That's like the shocker that when you do the little heart thing, when the clear, what do you call it? The paddles, the little paddles. That's what I feel like when he does the wake up.
Wake up.
It's like an adrenaline shot.

Chapter 5: How did the Bears' defense perform in the game?
We're still trying to figure that out. But, yeah, he had some bad moments to go along with the good moments. But, again, it's vintage Caleb in terms of, yeah, he's going to make you crazy, but he's also going to make the bigger, more important plays outweigh the bad with Caleb Williams.
I think the main thing with Caleb right now is I'm trying to figure out how much of this is Caleb and how much of this is Ben Johnson not having one of his better games.
Yeah, that too. Big time. Coming up next here on Rahimi Harrison-Grody, we want to continue with the calls. We're still in taking interviews from Hallis Hall, but we feel like we can maintain our plan. So if you've got some calls that you want to get to us, if we haven't gotten to you yet, call us back. 312-644-6767 because this is a Plumbers 911 Football Monday presented by Bucy Bank.
The Rahimi Harrison Grody Show, middays 10 to 2 on Chicago Sports Radio 670 The Score.
Every time, every time I think of the Dan Reederer open, we are expecting him at 1 o'clock. This is Rahimi Harrison-Grody on 670. The score as we take your calls, 312-644-6767. On this Plumbers 911 Football Monday presented by Busey Bank. As we go to the phones, we start with Paul in St. Charles. Hi, Paul.
Hi, how are you?
We're good. What's going on?
So, a lifelong Bear fan, season ticket holder for 18 years. I've been to all these games. I love my Bears, but I have to say, listening to some people just assume we are going to make the playoffs next year. This morning, someone says it's about what seed we're going to be next year. I mean, people have to realize that is not guaranteed.
The Detroit Lions are not going to roll over and not get better. The Packers... are coming out gunning for the Bears. This was an opportunity we just missed, unfortunately. I hate to say it. I just want to know your thoughts on that and maybe some realism when it comes to if we will be in the playoffs next year.
