Who is Adam Amin and why is he on the Raheemi & Grody show?

Unknown 0:01
Rahimi and Grody. Hey, pay attention! Middays, 10 a.m. to two on the score. Sam Raush on the rollout from Keenham. He's got it. He's able to tip throw through multiple Cincinnati tacklers. Just a rugged tight end. He reminds me a lot of Tucker Kraft for the Packers. Just big, strong, burly, kind of a throwback what he was for the Stanford Cardinal. And you see there, nice soft hands and able to rumble, and takes more than one tackler to bring him down. I'll take that comp. Tucker Kraft.
Mark Grote 0:31
Pretty good product for the Packers. As we welcome it back into Rahemi and Grody on 1043, the scorer. You heard Jim Miller on the end of that on Fox 32, but the man performing the play-by-play is in studio with us, Adam Amin of Fox 32. And also he is your Bulls broadcaster on CHSN, does Major League Baseball on Fox as well, and we get him for the hour here on Raheemi and Grody. I gotta ask you, Adam, like the building up to the start of that game. I imagine you guys had pretty much assumed, like I did and many of the beat reporters, that we probably wouldn't see Caleb Williams in the first string offense. What was that like for you guys building up to that? I get it, it's preseason, but kinda, kinda nice.
Mark Grote 1:15
A nice little bounce that Caleb Williams and the first stringers played, even on defense.
Adam Amin 1:19
It's always a nice surprise, uh to at least be able to discuss it. It's an easier lun launch point to be able to talk about Caleb because that's obviously a big draw uh for a lot of people who are excited about what the Bears might do this year.

Why were the Bears starters’ preseason appearances a surprise?

Adam Amin 1:33
Uh I still feel like it's I don't know what the next couple of years are gonna look like preseason game wise, like what reps are gonna look like. I I know the goal seemingly is to eventually cut down a two preseason games and go to 18 regular season games. I I'm always wary of that. Like I I get the joint practices are probably better reps, which is fine as long as you're getting the reps. That's the most important thing. These are controlled reps. But to be able to at least watch guys try to perform and execute on the field and what is the closest thing you're going to get to a game situation until the regular season starts, it's nice. It it it does provide a little bounce to the step. You do get to at least discuss
Adam Amin 2:10
uh some of the key players that you expect good things from. And, you know, the hardest part is trying to balance the bottom of the roster with what's going on with the top guys, 'cause the top guys you know are going to be there. And as you guys were saying, in a few weeks, this thing's going to happen for real against Carolina. Like these are the guys that are going to be on the field more often than not.
Vinny Rotino 2:27
Well, and I I think Ben Johnson did we laughed a little bit 'cause Ben Johnson's press conference after the game was shorter than it's normally both in timing and in answer length. But additionally, he did talk about say for Roshan Johnson in an evaluation period, the concept of stringing good performances together. That probably is the most valuable part of this time of the year. Among Roshan Johnson, who else do you think probably helped their stock this weekend?
Adam Amin 2:53
I still feel like Savon Ahmed is doing a lot of good things in multiple phases. Uh, I think he's been good in special teams and he's been able to grasp the offense relatively quickly. Again, this is just a guy that's had a lot of injuries. The hip drop tackle got him last year. He had a bad foot and ankle ish injury a few years ago when he was with Miami. Like I I called some of his games before he he got hurt and I was like, Yeah, the he was a capable backup running back, number two, number three guy, uh that can

What did the coaches say about Caleb Williams’ first‑string role in preseason?

Adam Amin 3:18
spell your starter. I know DeAndre Swift has a lot of expectation on him this year and he's going into walk here anyway. Those two and thr or that number three spot. And you know, I I it was like a Freudian slip. I said the two spot just because the concern about Manongay's knee has gotten a little greater in the last week. So depending on where he is in that regard, that number two slot becomes that much more important.
