Because of course I was sitting next to Taylor in the camera well next to the Cubs dugout. I was only catching every second or third word of the conversation there as I'm looking at my own notes, and then I I I sort of got this sense, all of us that have worked in broadcasting, that I'm on TV and I'm not really sure that I should be right now. That was when I ducked out of the So I started waving and it was uh so credit to Boog and and J D in the booth for uh and of course for Taylor for being uh being so kind to me because I just wasn't quite sure How much I was on TV at that exact moment and I just waved and and uh I hope I just went with it.

And i is it crazy for Cubs fans to dream that they might have an MVP on their roster right now?
PCA is the MVP right now, as we speak today. Now, a lot can change. We've got a couple months of baseball left, not quite two months. But when you look at the way that he is accumulating value. I I'll I'll take the the macro level of of how I and I'm not full disclosure, I am not an NL MVP voter this year. I have voted on the MVP and the American League a number of times, and so I I'm used to looking at things through this lens. What I like to look at, especially when you get to the top, the very, very top, the year when I think I had the vo the vote when it was judge against Otani and it was in the American League when Otani was still with the Angels, I had to think about a lot of things. The way I look at this, this particular race, if you're looking at a head to head, PCA and Otani, obviously Otani has thrown 85 more innings than PCA has this year, right?
I mean that that that much is clear. I don't know that he'll be able to get above a hundred in terms of the accumulation of Shoei's value. So just based on the uncertainty surrounding his pitching ability, obviously even 85 innings while doing what he does offensively is extraordinary. No one is going to discount that. But what Winds of Buff replacement does offer us is a way of accumulating value and and stacking the the the good days, stacking the contributions on either side of the ledger. And right now that tally has two components. It's Shohei's bat and Shohei's arm. And then versus PCA's bat and PCA's defense and his base running. Show A, because of the knee, has not really been stealing bases this year.
