Who is Herb Howard and why is he joining the Bears camp discussion?
Bears beat reporter for the bigs. Herb Howard is joining us.
Herb Howard is here from the bigs. Herb joins us in studio right now. And, and Marshall, he smells great. And that to me, that is bonus points.
Herb immediately showed he was going to be somebody asking meaningful questions. He's going to ask a question that everyone else in the room is going to want to know the answers. What then happens that they can't get out and get snapped before? It's a, it's a great question. Well, thank you so much for joining us. This has been a lot of fun.
It's always fun with you guys. You are absolutely amazing. I listen to you guys when you don't invite me, so it's really, really cool.
We'll see you in here tomorrow, buddy. Yeah, in here live in studio. Can't wait.
I'm looking forward to it.
Brody can talk about how good you smell. That's what he's obsessed with.
I'll make sure I'm ready for you, Brody.
What personal stories does Herb share before diving into camp analysis?
With Rahimi Harrison Brody. Get a toke of this guy. He smells great. I'm telling you. On 104.3 The Score.
I don't know, funny or cringy every single time? Both.
Both things can be true.
Yes, that is the answer. It's Rahimi Harrison-Grody. Yes, Herb Howard of The Bigs, Bears reporter for The Bigs Media is here. You can follow him on X. If you don't, here's your opportunity to follow him right now at HerbHoward411. You can follow at The Bigs Media on YouTube for the latest from Herb. I do have to give an update on my own personal sweet smells here. and my daily routine. I did make a purchase yesterday. I did buy a two-for-one situation, a two-for-one, two-in-one Dove product in the bottle. Here's the problem. I couldn't find the three-in-one. I'm a three-in-one guy. It's got the soap. It's got the conditioner.
How do the Bears’ offensive numbers this year compare to last season?
It's got the shampoo. I couldn't find the three-in-one. Are we lost three-in-one as a society? That's my lifestyle.
You know, if they don't do three-in-one, they can make more money off of you by having you buy several products. So I'm surprised that it's gone this long, to be honest.
Shouldn't the shampoo and conditioner be good enough as soap as well, right? I mean, that's a scam, right? It's got to be. Herb, you're the expert, man. You're the man with the sweet smells. We're going left here. We are going... No, no, no. We're not going left.
We went wide left. We missed the mark. We went away.
It's not even a doink? No, no. Listen, I'm trying to stick around here a little while. All right. I just got on the team for a while.
What makes Caleb Williams’ early‑camp play “elite‑level”?
I'm trying to hang out. Don't put me in that spot.
Let me bail you out because it's a day off today for the Chicago Bears.
Yeah.
So I asked Fishbane this question. It's like a nice time to take a deep breath and look back on camp so far. How would you summarize... the this camp and maybe a theme of this camp maybe even relative to what we saw last year so ben johnson training camp 2.0 now that you have a chance to sit down here in studio take a deep breath how are you looking at things so far for this version of the chicago bears
I think I would say on schedule, offensively, because they are so far ahead of where they were at this time last year. And that's to be expected, sure, but it also feels good and it looks good. The way they started camp that first week, they were dominating out there on the practice field day in and day out, consistently creating explosive plays. In the passing game, you saw Caleb Williams at the very top of his game delivering the ball with great anticipation, accuracy, timing with his receivers. That's what you were looking for. You were talking about all these runner's balls where they can catch it in stride, create big plays after the catch. You saw a lot of that. And then you got some surprises from some guys.
Khalif Raymond is a much better football player than I knew him to be. Obviously, I've never watched him up close and personal every day. But getting to do that, you see a greater skill set than you thought him. He's a kick returner. He's a gadget guy. You can use him here and there on offense.
Which emerging Bears players are exceeding expectations in camp?
He can be an absolute weapon for you on offense. He makes a lot of plays in the passing game.
