What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Rahimi Harris and Grody. Middays 10 to 2. On 104.3 The Score.
Bears beat reporter for the Bigs.
Who is Herb Howard and why is he on the show?
Herb Howard is joining us. Herb Howard is here from the Bigs.
Herb joins us in studio right now. And, and Marshall, he smells great. And that to me, that is bonus points.
Herb immediately showed he was going to be somebody asking meaningful questions. He's going to ask a question that everyone else in the room is going to want to know the answers.
What then happens that they can't get out and get snapped? It's a great question. Tell him I shower, girl. Tell him. Okay, well, yeah.
Get a toke of this guy. He smells great. I'm telling you.
Well, thank you so much, Herb, for joining us. This has been a lot of fun.
It's always fun with you guys. You are absolutely amazing. I listen to you guys when you don't invite me, so it's really, really cool.
He's the goods, man. He is Herb Howard. You're right, he asked a good question. He was 70%ing Caleb Williams yesterday, man. Not the goods, the bigs. He is of the bigs. He's a Bears reporter for Bigs Media. You can find him right now if you would like. On Twitter, at HerbHoward411. He's also on Zoom, so you can see Herb's smiling face out at Hallis Hall. Look at that hat.
You see that hat he's got on, Gertie?
I don't have my thing up here right now.
Let me just tell you, it's a team in town, and it's not the one from the north side. How about that?
Oh, Southside Herb. What's going on, Herb Howard?
How you doing, man? I'm excellent. Definitely Southside Herb. Shout out to the Sox, but it's Go Cubs Go all day, Marshall, all day.
See, I'm mad at that. See, that's the okey-doke, right? That's the ultimate okey-doke. All right, I have a very important question to start us off here, Herb. Is Caleb Williams in the offense that good, or can the Bears just not cover anyone? Tell me what happened at practice today.
Yeah, the Bears' offense definitely got the better of the defense today. I mean, they were spreading the ball around. They were hitting guys in space. You saw some of those runners' balls we've been talking about from Caleb hitting those guys in stride. And when you hit guys like Luther Burton, Kalief Raymond in stride, they're going to catch it and go a long way. And so you saw a lot of that out there for the offense today. I don't know that it's some huge indictment on the defense or some declaration about them going forward. That's just a day where the offense won. I'm sure there'll be days – where the defense wins. But today, it was definitely about the offense.
Tell me about the 50-yard play. Clay Harbor mentioned it, but I don't think he really described it. What did you see out there?
From Khalif? Yeah. Yes. Yeah, no, just down the sideline. It's a tough matchup. You had him one-on-one with Tyreek Stevenson. For all of the skills that Tyreek does have, straight line speed isn't necessarily, you know, what comes to mind when you think about his skill set. And so you put him one-on-one with a guy like Khalif Raymond, he's going to be at a disadvantage. And Khalif just ran right by him. deep down the field. It kind of ended up closer to the middle than the left, but it was too deep for Kobe to kind of get back there and get under it. Kobe was trying to, but Khalid just had a step or two on Tyreek and Caleb threw a great ball.
Going through just a little bit of housekeeping on all of that, as we're going to do day-to-day, I assume still Braxton Jones at left tackle, Garrett Bradbury playing center, no funny stuff, still sort of like we saw the first day?
No, no, no news like that. They had the same group of guys going, you know, with the with the ones and the twos. But I think we'll start to maybe find a little about find out a little about excuse me, find a little bit more about that as they get into pads. And maybe you'll start to see Logan Jones get a couple of reps here and there, see what he can do. Or maybe you'll see some switching at that left tackle spot. But so far, Braxton still getting the first first team rest as is Gary Bradbury.
Herb Howard, the Biggs Media, joining us from Hallis Hall where he is out there each and every day.
