The talent that's here and the talent that is continuing to develop here.
We obviously have some mainstay guys like Ian Happ.
in half Cubs all-star outfielder and I've seen a lot of guys play the outfield but but he's I think he's the best left fielder that we've ever seen in a Cub uniform and I've been here 31 years when all is said and done he's gonna be one of those guys that Cub fans are gonna look back and say man he was he was a really good player good solid big league player gold glove award winner Marlowe deals swings hits a high fly ball deep right center field way out of here and gone
Ian Happ with a monster home run to right.

Chapter 2: How did Ian Happ reflect on his 1,000th career hit?
He's had a scorching hot season.
couple of weeks and right now he's sitting with a really good year like he's in the middle of another really good year and it just takes a couple weeks of really good baseball to get you back to that point that is one of the beauties of this game and it's one of the beauties of still being a few hundred at bats into the season is numbers can move like that and I think that's for a number of the guys in our group um
They're going to get hot, and when they do, it's going to look exactly like it has throughout their careers, and that's coming.
I know as we talked with Ian Happ. who is the gold glove left fielder for the Chicago Cubs as they get ready to take on the Colorado Rockies starting a six-game road trip that there's probably no better place. Well, maybe Cincinnati for you personally, but for everybody else. Yeah, Colorado is where you've also excelled, and everybody seems to hit well there. You said it's time to get going.
Is there a better setup than having three games in Colorado?
Yeah.
Yeah, I think that's part of what Colorado gives you is this big outfield. And people talk about how the ball flies here, and there's definitely some homers out there. But it's more that there's a bunch of hits out there because the outfield is so big and you can't cover the whole thing. So I do think for our group, Wrigley, opposite.
Small field, wind blowing in, hard to hit a homer, hard to get balls to get down because there's not a lot of outfields. And so when you get to a place where there's a lot of grass in front of you and we're going to have really nice weather the next few days. So just being in that environment where we have a chance to have some hits fall and see that happen makes it a little bit easier.
I feel like if you just advance it forward, it's going to find some grass. So I think just from a from a mental standpoint and where our group is, it'll be a good spot for us.
