It's just sports. Okay, thanks, bye.
Rahimi Harrison-Grody, 10 to 2 on 104.3 The Score.
AJ Pruszynski, kind enough to join us. I saw you in Italy. Then I saw you were wearing a suit at the Vatican. And then you said, wait. And then I waited. And the next thing you know, here you are meeting the Pope. What was it like?
The Pope! Honestly, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Someone that was raised Catholic. There's a lot of Catholics in Chicago, obviously, as we all know. I was raised Catholic, did my communion confirmation. The nuns would have loved you. What an experience, Pope Leo XIV, what an incredible human being and a man to get to talk to and just to meet him and see him for five minutes. But the way he handled himself in that situation was remarkable and it was humbling. It was humbling to go up there and talk to him and just be able to realize you're talking to one of the most powerful people on earth. And also they're supposed to be one of the best people on earth and you try to live up to that.
What was the highlight of that conversation for you? What specifically did you ask or he say that really you walked away with saying wow?
I think the coolest thing was when I introduced myself and he said, you don't have to introduce yourself. I know who you are.
What happened when Pete Crow-Armstrong met the Pope and how did the hosts react?
Wow.
I know who you are.
Well, this is going to be life-changing for you as well, A.J. You don't know this about me, but I do a scale of 1 to 10, but I use bears as the scale, 1 being poor, 10 being excellent. So I give out bears to people if they do very Chicago things like you, A.J. Brzezinski. Congratulations. This is a 9.4 bears situation. Wow. 9.4. Congratulations. How humbled are you at this moment?
I'm even more humbled than when I got to meet the poet.
Thank you, Chicago. Layla Rahimi. Marshall Harris. Mark Grody. Middays 10 a.m. to 2 on Chicago Sports Radio 104.3 The Score.
We thank you for joining us on this Thursday here on Rahimi Harrison Grody. And if you didn't get the memo, the game has been moved up. The third game of Cubs and Orioles is now set to start at 1235 here, 135 Eastern Time. Cubs pregame gets you started at noon. So we got a shorty in the words of the jargon we like to use on Rahimi Harrison Grody.
Shorty swinging my way. Shall look good to me. So would you please swing it my way?
Shall we swing my way? And it did. That's how we did.
That's how we do. The group text and the reactions to the revelation. And then after the revelation, the time zone conversion.
Yeah, because I totally followed the Orioles time there. And I was like, oh, 1 p.m. pregame. We have a shorter show. And then it's like, wrong. No, we have the tradition.
We have the most ultimate of ultimate short shows.
We do indeed. Actually, no.
The 1 p.m.
start? The Pittsburgh noon start is the one where you're like, hi, bye, this has been our show. So we get you ready for a third game and one the Cubs are trying to sweep because yesterday, Marshall, the Cubs had the Orioles right where the Orioles wanted them, up to 9-3. A 9-3 lead is not safe with this team, as we've seen. And then everybody and their dog just started swinging for the fences. And the fences appreciated it because everything seemed to go out of the ballpark at one point. I got very stressed out during this game. But then the Cubs hold on and win 9-7. And Pete Crow Armstrong, yet again, was one of the guys just swinging and looking like not only has he made adjustments as a hitter, but that the power and what we hope to see, the potential that we want to see,
It's happening right now. We're seeing the adjustment he's making and how he's changing his play discipline and his pitch selection. And then you're also seeing that married with the power. These are the good times. And if he's a streaky hitter, say you want to say that and you can. Even then, I'll ride this wave until it crashes.
I mean, if he's a streaky hitter, the streak is great.
He's a streaky hitter for months.
But listen, listen, because people will tell you, well, what about when you stunk in the first couple of months?
