Well, and we have a lot of questions that I think you can help us answer. The first one is we're still trying to figure out, especially with Kyle Teal's injury, for example, with the White Sox, how much they think they might be buyers at this trade deadline. Or is it a situation where they still have the long term in mind? You have your finger on the pulse of that organization. What do you know about this?

They still very much have a long-term future in mind. Hey, if they make the playoffs, it's a great season, no matter if they get past the first round, if they win a single playoff game. So the last thing they're going to do is mortgage a future. I mean, they just went through this whole pain to get these prospects and everything else. they're not going to suddenly give away some top prospects just to get into the playoffs. So a year from now, I think it'll be different. But I think it'll be more moderate right now.

And when you talk about moderate, are you saying at the deadline they won't be active in trying to maybe find something that's cost-controlled beyond this year? Because I certainly don't want them mortgaging the future, but I like the idea of getting in on something that could help them maybe now and in years into the future.

Yeah, that part would make more sense for sure. You know, whether it's a, you know, a Reed Detmers or Jose Soriano, you know, out of Anaheim, you know, that sort of thing. I'm not saying, you know, a Mason Miller, but a guy with control. What does not make sense is, like, for them to go after Tarek Scouble and just give you a short-term rental. You're not going to do that. But, yeah, if you've got some control. with it, absolutely. And they'll take our money, too, but they just don't want to give up, say, a top 10 prospect for rental.

You mentioned Mason Miller, who would be under control but would also cost a haul. Do you think he's getting moved at this deadline? And if so, who do you think the top suitors are?

Bob Nightingale 2:46

No, I do. I think there's such a mess right now. And I think they're the one team that can trade a Mason Miller and say, you know what, we can get some pieces and still hang in this thing. Then we get some, you know, starting pitching sort of thing. You know, looking at a team like, you know, Seattle, for instance, they can certainly use a closer, the Yankees. Uh, I would think, you know, Seattle, the Yankees would make the most sense for a guy like that. And, you know, you have no control through 2029, but you're going to have to surrender at least two of your own top 10 prospects. And probably one would be a number one or two prospect.
