Marshall Harris 0:00
Rahimi Harrison-Grody. That's a show trying to win a Marconi right there. Middays 10 to 2 on 104.3 The Score.
Vinny Rotino 0:09
This is Rahimi Harrison-Grody at 104.3 The Score. We've just been alerted that yesterday was Baby T. Tyler Ferengel's birthday. So, mentor Mark Grody. Tyler, we want to wish you a happy birthday.
Marshall Harris 0:21
Happy birthday! But also, that man, he's grown now. He can rent a car without paying the extra surcharge. That's a big birthday.
Vinny Rotino 0:29
25 for Baby T. Isn't that... He's still just a baby. He is still just a baby. I love using that phrase because we've used it for every adult who isn't basically Joe Tooney or Grady Jarrett because they get rest on the practice report.
Mark Grote 0:43
Right.
Vinny Rotino 0:43
And I'm pretty sure they're going to come after us at some point or another for calling them old.
Mark Grote 0:47
I call it the Mercedes Lewis rule. Because he's 40. That's why he's not practicing today. He's 40. You don't need to look at the injury report.
Vinny Rotino 0:56
There it is. So I know you guys touched on this when I was out of town. There was a discussion surrounding fairness and Caleb Williams. And I know, Mark, you have talked about this before because hosting Take the North, the podcast with Dan Weterer, you guys get a lot of feedback from your online audiences. And I would say at times chronically online audiences because a lot of those people have many accounts to troll all of us as well.
Mark Grote 1:24
Right. And because I have been, I guess you could say, conservative in my evaluation of Caleb Williams, that people think that I hate Caleb Williams. And those are the kind of tweets and feedback. And as you said, online, YouTube, wherever. And, you know, it's on me. I shouldn't even look at the comments, which a lot of the times I don't.
Vinny Rotino 1:46
The problem is it's the vocal minority. And they're like, Lila said this, except I never said it. And you just need to use me to feel better about yourself that day because you can't calm down as a
Mark Grote 1:54
Right. And I think that because Caleb Williams is Caleb Williams, there are a lot of people that are afraid to be less than glowing about everything that Caleb Williams does. And so people are afraid. And I am not one of those people. I will tell you what I think. And by the way, I did manage to get Caleb Williams into my top 10, as you guys both know, as we all did. Well, except for Marshall.
Marshall Harris 2:20
Yeah, I didn't have him in the top 10. He's at 11. He's knocking on the door, though. But I want to make sure people understand. Mark's not afraid. He's just anxious about Caleb Williams.
Vinny Rotino 2:29
I don't even know if it's anxious. It's just we're still in somewhat of a wait-and-see mood. So is the general manager. Ryan Poles, who would love nothing more than to point to the scoreboard and get all the accolades for drafting Kayla Williams, has said he's not ready to give him an extension yet. Said it was a yellow light. That was the direct quote. But try to tell the commenters that who are very obsessed with you or us or anybody. And I'm not talking about the normal people who interact on like You know what a normal interaction is. You're on Twitch. You're on our text line being talking to us like we're people. These are people who are out to get people. They claim you say stuff you never said. But there's a lot of them.
Vinny Rotino 3:06
And I think it does affect you because your job is to listen. And the reason I have reverse beef with you, aka support, is because you're not the only one who feels this way. The Athletic conducts good surveys. Now, you're getting a different portion of fans because they pay for the Athletic subscription, which is roughly $72 and change a year. But they do conduct big-time surveys. I talked about the one they did of the entire football responses regarding the third-round picks that the Bears didn't get. And they overwhelmingly the NFL responded in that survey saying the NFL fans that the Bears did get screwed out of picks. So the same is said for the Chicago Bears fan survey. Kevin Fishbane conducts this every year.
Vinny Rotino 3:53
And the first question, the first question out of 3,500 fans responding, how confident are you that Caleb Williams will be a top 10 NFL quarterback by the end of the 2026 season?
