Chapter 1: What entertaining moments are highlighted from the NBA Finals?
He's a Harry Carey level entertainer. Right. And without the potential alcohol abuse during the game.
Our sincere thank you to Adam Amin for coming in studio with us and talking about Stacey King. Thanks to Chuck Swirsky for doing the very same thing. Thank you to Ian Happ for coming on. Thanks to our producers, Ray Diaz, Tyler Buterbaugh, Brandon Fryer helping us out. Thanks to Cody Westerlin, Connor O'Donnell, Jacob Stutz, and Max Curtis.
And thanks to Hattie Bees for sponsoring our Ian Happ segment. Born in Asheville and bred in Wrigleyville, and now it is time for Transition.
Chapter 2: What insights did Adam Amin share about Stacey King?
Our Transition is brought to you by Torque Coatings, high-performance coatings for your home or business. TorqueCoatings.com. We bring in Lawrence Holmes and Russ Dorsey. And for Matt Spiegel. Hey, Russ. Hey, Lawrence.
Spiegs is off today. All right. All right. All right. Okay, then. Is he in New York? I don't know. Maybe. Dun, dun, dun. Oh, because tomorrow the game. He'll be at game four. But now he doesn't have to worry about all the extra security measures. I was asking Layla, did we have a confirmation that he's not going to game four?
Someone at the White House said he will not be there because there's a lot of other stuff for him to do. Like being the president.
Right.
There's like a war and stuff.
Didn't he not attend his son's wedding?
Wedding, yeah. That was like the clap back against the son. But, you know, I think he might have found time if this had been a championship closeout.
The clincher? Mm-hmm. That's fair.

Chapter 3: How does the NBA Finals atmosphere affect the players?
But, you know, hey, I think it ends up being better for the people of New York City. Because now they can have their watch party right there. Those bars and restaurants that miss out on that revenue.
It's not going to be better when it's a 2-2 series headed back to San Antone.
I had so much fun watching that game last night. It was great, right? Marshall, it was so great. And I heard you talking about it yesterday, how you thought that they were going to win. I was right there with you. But what I liked about it, and I wonder if they can keep this up. San Antonio was like, so you're tough, right? Yeah. Cool. We'll be tough, too. And now what?
Like, we're really skilled on top of being tough. And Russ and I were talking about it. Y'all maybe have created a monster. Y'all here trying to call people soft and getting a 7'5 elbow right in your face.
After a while, you get called soft, and then you realize, I'm 7'4". I'll show y'all soft. Little man. For everybody out there, yes, some of the things that Wimby is doing right now is dirty.
I'm not saying.
But what are you going to do about it? That would be my question to the Knicks.
That's it. And even just the way that they were able to space the floor for the Knicks better defensively because they were utilizing just a different way to have the spacing underneath the bucket. We talked about that. You know, Jalen Brunson's having to run all over creation in order to try to get an open spot.

Chapter 4: What impact does the President's absence have on the game?
Like when we just decided to take up space yesterday in useful ways.
They're getting so much production. What Dylan Harper's doing, that's a real dude.
He hasn't even quite figured it out yet. I don't think he's scratching the surface.
He's just like, okay, I'm faster than y'all. I'm tougher than y'all. I'm more skilled. Yeah, that's going to be a real problem for a long time.
Seeing him yesterday with the ball in his hands in the backcourt and then looking at the floor and being like, oh, you guys can't catch me. Got it. I'm going to the basket. Bye. And I hope that you meet me there. I hope to God. Because I'm going to meet you there. Because I'm going to meet you there.
Yeah. Also, that was the other thing that kind of surprised me. I was like, man, this is a lot of downhill play for some bigs that should be in the lane.
Yeah. With Steph Castle kind of going under the radar because, as you said, a 7'4 man exists. It's been interesting watching him just do whatever is necessary on any given possession. Wint. And I like the idea that Wimby might get called for a flagrant foul retroactive and be at the cusp of missing a game if another flagrant foul is called.
But he had to do what he had to do last night because you go down 3-0, it's over. It's curtains. Yeah, and to your point on Castle...
They have, in Harper and Castle, basically two running backs out there. Because you talk about them playing downhill. I texted a friend last night, like, Castle's really playing downhill right now. And it allows them to do so much stuff. I will say, I thought they were going to lose last night because the Knicks were getting so much production from guys not named Jalen Brunson.

Chapter 5: What strategies are the Spurs employing against the Knicks?
It's not. You're not going to have me down 3-0.
I love that we are now going to be four games into this, and we hadn't seen a home team win yet. Just that aspect of it.
It's good basketball.
It also just utilizes a 2-3-2 as well in the home away setup.
It's nice to watch high-level basketball where you feel like, okay, I'm seeing the ā these are the two best teams in the sport right now, and you see the adjustments that ā the Spurs made from game two to game three. You're going to see the adjustment that the Knicks, who hadn't lost in over a month, now make from game three to game four.
It also makes me thankful because you mentioned the 2-3-2. I'm so glad it's now 2-2-1-1-1 because it changes how a series flows because people can get on planes now. It was always a travel thing, 2-3-2. But now that you go back and forth, 5-6-7, I think that changes how these series are viewed, played, approached by players and coaches.
The idea of even walking into Game 3 or Game 4 if you're San Antonio and being like, you know what? We want to go home. No matter what, we are going to go home again. That's powerful. So you play your hearts out. It ended up working out. You know that you're getting one more game. And that game... let's say you lose game four, but you win game five.
There's a pressure switch that ends up happening in those situations when it's 2-2-1-1-1 versus 2-3-2. But everything was crackling about it. I thought that MSG was rocking last night. They were ready. Because Lord knows they had to be there three hours before the game started. So they were ready for basketball last night. Cardi B was ready. Cardi B was ready. And she was noticed.
She was noticed by a lot of people.

Chapter 6: How are the Knicks adjusting their gameplay in the Finals?
He was like, the weird thing is you're not shorter than Vontae Davis. And Vontae Davis, he hated Vontae Davis. He's like, that guy used to have to stick me. And I was like, I was just like, let's just do foreground and background.
Yes, and see, that's a media person understanding. People don't understand that you could kind of shorten the distance. Yeah.
But no, Glick wanted to put me on a box.
Hey, Jeff Glick wanted to put you on a pedestal because that's the kind of guy he is.
Oh, I like that. Pedestal versus the box.
That's a good way to look at it.
Well, that's who he is.
You're right.
He did want to put me on a pedestal.

Chapter 7: What role does technology play in sports broadcasting today?
That's the beauty of it, and we can't. Hey, that pitch clock, though, is helping me get to bed a lot earlier than I used to get to. Yeah, but you know what's coming up now? We got West Coast baseball.
Dude, I'm sorry, though. I can't go to bed right away after a game. My brain doesn't work that way. I'm still wired. I got to take some notes or do some reading. I don't go to bed right away. I'm like, oh, game's over. No, that doesn't work for me.
Especially like a game last night. That game had you hyped. It was so good that you don't want to go to sleep.
Do you know how nice it was to watch an NBA playoff game and not worry about a baseball game? I love baseball. I have to say it every time. But I just, sometimes I just want to absorb.
A night where neither team played, where you can just, yeah.
Can I be honest with you? I love basketball too much to be able to take it away.
I'm just going to tell you all the truth. I will be watching Nick Spurs live, and the other stuff will be recorded, and I'll catch up. Is that bad? No, no, I don't think it's bad, but I don't think that's what most people will do.
How dare you not watch Brayden Montgomery's debut week live?
I will angrily vent on the text chat like during an at bat or something. I'm like, of course this happened. And like, so you'll see me do that. And I don't take offense if you don't reply. I'm just screaming into the ether.

Chapter 8: What are the future implications for the teams discussed?
Or was that Friday's game? Friday's game is like, you know what? I'm going to go outside. Yeah, I'm going to get some air. Blues Fest is going on. I don't have to watch this if I don't want to. Take a little sports walk. Hot girl sports walk.
Yeah.
You can do those things. I like the idea of Russ outside. I can live vicariously through him. No, no, no, no, no. Just getting air. Like I said, I like the idea of Russ outside. You're outside more than me.
You did just defend a weekend 3.30 in the morning activity. You do sound like the person who's more outside.
I miss Waffle House. There's no Waffle Houses here. There's no Waffle Houses here.
There's Golden Nugget, though.
You can hit up the Nugget. Nah.
No? Not the same? Not the same. I do appreciate you calling that out. And as your uncle, I do have to have your back in this situation. And I do love Marshall. And I like being outside with Marshall. But he tries to paint it as if you're the only one outside.
If you were just a listener of the score, you would think that Marshall is an old man. Looks like Flava Flav. Marshall is one, outside. Two, I know who he be outside with. And three, he's a handsome dude. Yes.
