The possibilities start to extend beyond hanging on for dear life. And if the trade deadline comes and the Sox are in this position they're in right now, they go out, they get some more arms and bolster the bullpen rotation, however you want to look at it. But the hitting is the hitting. And without Munataka Murakami, this team has still averaged over five runs a game.
They're still one of the best offenses in all of baseball. Bray Montgomery, he's the 12th player to be called up and make his Major League debut for the White Sox, more than any other team in baseball. In fact, since the start of last year, 23 players have now come up and made their debut. Major League debut in a White Sox uniform over the last two seasons.
And if you look at the starting lineup from last night, going back to last year, like over half the lineup was guys who weren't in Major League Baseball in 2024. That tells you how far they've come.
