This hour is brought to you by Jewel Osco.
The Chicago Bulls select Will Perdue of Vanderbilt.
38 seconds to play. Will perdue with a slow. Now look, and it was Jordan to Will Perdue. Seven on the clock. Nice Purdue from Jordan again. A beautiful pick and roll. What a great feed. The basket counts, and once again, Freddie the needle, Michael Jordan finding Will Purdue. Jordan. Nice featur! Good play. Will is just gonna go to the board and away there. He got a pass perduce. Perdue with the new bowl going in. Will Perdue was upset, feeling Minute Bowl hit him with an elbow as the shot was taken. Will came in and pushed him from behind. I always
tell the story Cartlight hit me so hard in the head one time, I got it my my ear turned black
and blue. I
didn't know that was physically
possible.
With Rahimi Harrison Grody on 1043 the score.
What a great introduction, Tyler Buterbach, for our guest, Will Purdue. My colleague, happy to have him in the studio. And you heard their four-time NBA champion. Three rings with the Bulls, one with the Spurs. He is at Will underscorePurdue. 32 joining us in studio. And Will, you bring news. You're part of Bulls Fest this weekend. How are you doing?
Yes, I am. I'm looking forward to it. This actually you know, it's kinda funny. We're what, August twenty first, right? So going back to my playing career, this is when, you know Because we were fortunate enough to win all those championships, we played 'til late June.
Mm-hmm. Right?
So We really didn't start getting back into the the physically uh the physical and mental approach of getting ready for the next season until about late July. So now we're about a month into preparation where other teams of other players have been at it two, three months. But this is kind of when we start ramping it up and we would start playing five on five, you know, or at the Berto Center back in the day. And also As you guys are are talking about now, football's getting ready to get started, right? But also now this is when things are really heating up for baseball. Yeah. And that's Uh everybody that's listened to this show or heard knows a little bit about me. That's what that was always my favorite sport growing up 'cause I grew up in Florida.
And it was football and baseball. That's it. Basketball was the sport that everybody played it just to stay in shape for their other sport that was their main sport. So You know, right now you can't with you know, the Cubs being in the wild card spot, the White Sox leading by three and a half games. I mean it's baseball is relevant right now in this city and in and it's been interesting to see how much people are actually paying attention.
Well, and you go to a White Sox game or two. I know you like to go to the Sox games.
Yeah, you know what's the interesting thing? This year I went to the Sox game and I actually sat out in the outfield.
Yeah.
I'm I uh listen, I'm gonna expose myself, much like my man here, and don't go there.
I didn't go anywhere, I'm just sitting here listening to you. The
master of manipulation of nonverbal communication right there. I saw the eyebrows move. But I will n I normally don't go to a game unless I'm sitting in a box.
I feel you on that. 'Cause it's
right. I heard him on my way in talking about how he either sits in the press box or uh you know, he likes to be pampered, right? It's
not about being pampered, I just like to be comfortable.
Yes. So you can get spoiled. Right. But you like to have options at the game. But what I did like about sitting in the outfield, we were sitting in the right field bleachers, right?
So you were in the one oh eight? Were you in the one oh eight?
Yeah, what's the what's the beard
behind the foul pole? Oh yeah, it was a little
farther. It was more like right center by the
craft cave.
Yeah.
How is Matas Buzelis developing and what improvements has he shown this year?
But I like the fact that, you know, they got such a spacious area from the seats to where the vendors are. And you can actually like if it doesn't it's not like I exactly fit in a seat. But you can walk about that. You can walk behind the section and they have the tables and just set your beverage down and watch a little baseball.
