Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
All right, just warming up here on The Real Kipper and Bourne Show as we go national. We are live on Sportsnet. Sportsnet 650 in Vancouver, 960 in Calgary, and streaming always on Sportsnet+. Also available Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, where we love the chats. We love a thumbs up if you can provide us one. Please do.
Chapter 2: What insights does Chris Wideman share about the strongest NHL blueline?
This hour of Real Kipper and Bourne brought to you by Bet365. Nick Kiprios, Justin Bourne, Sammy McKee. In a few minutes, we'll welcome in Chris Weidman, former National Hockey League defenseman. Habs, Sens, Oilers, Panthers as we get set tonight. Pivotal! Game in Buffalo, 2-2. Boys.
Can't wait.
Only Canadian team left. You mean the Sabres? Let's go. Sammy. What? Canada's team, baby. Cheer hard for the Montreal Canadiens. Don't avoid the question, Sammy. Why would I do that? Would you really expect? Come on. You're so Canadian with the Olympics. You can't be Canadian for a Stanley Cup.
Do you know how much closer we are to Buffalo than Montreal? It's closer to here. They're in America, pal.
Chapter 3: How is Lane Hutson developing as a smaller defenceman?
I don't know. I've been on the Sabres since their mics cut out and they sang the national anthem. I was like, I'm in.
Chapter 4: What factors contributed to the Avalanche's comeback against the Wild?
They got me.
Chapter 5: What are the concerns regarding Cale Makar's injury?
And the funniest part is they would never root for anything Toronto, and I'm like, ah, I like you guys.
I think there's also the... You're, like, sort of indoctrinated to Buffalo because we got the Bills. Like, the Toronto fans root for the Bills.
And our AAA baseball team is in Buffalo. The Bisons are down there. I don't know. I just feel like a connection to them. And the Sabres, I don't know. I... I haven't liked the dives from Montreal. Oh, good gracious.
Chapter 6: What changes are happening with the Vancouver Canucks' management?
I thought the first period in Montreal was a disgrace, quite frankly.
Buddy, everyone's looking for a call here and there. Montreal is no better or worse. I disagree.
This hour of Real Kipper and Boren brought to you by Bet365. All right, does Lindy get a call or two based on a few comments? Does that even work anymore? I know Lindy.
I know Lindy was leaning into it, which I like.
It's very old school. It's very Mike Keenan-like.
Appeal to the league. You got to do all you can.
Push all the buttons. Let's do it. Yeah, let's play Lindy Roth's clip there, Derek, on the dives.
Yeah, I see some trends where I know Montreal's got a good power play, but I think they're going down easy. I think it's part of the playoffs. It just is. You know how important a power play can be. So you get a stick on somebody, you've got to be careful with your sticks. You know if they have a chance to make the play look worse than it is, they're going to. It's playoff hockey.
Every team in this league does it. And it's an understanding that keep your stick off them. I mean, the little push that Thompson gave their player, I don't think that's called in the regular season. But in the playoffs, it's called. So tell our guys not to do it.
