Transcription

Chapter 1: What is the main focus of the podcast and who is the host?

0.031 - 24.31 Nathan Latka

This is The Top, where I interview entrepreneurs who are number one or number two in their industry in terms of revenue or customer base. You'll learn how much revenue they're making, what their marketing funnel looks like, and how many customers they have. I'm now at $20,000 per top. Five and six million. He is hell-bent on global domination. We just broke our 100,000-unit soul mark.

0

24.33 - 49.147 Nathan Latka

And I'm your host, Nathan Latka. Top Tribe, yesterday you heard from Louis Loutman. It was a heated episode, because quite frankly, I couldn't tell if he was stupid or brilliant. When he turned 30, he spent all of his money on a movie? Okay, Top Tribe, good morning, good morning, good morning. If you're jogging, I hope you're sweating by now, because this is an episode you're going to love.

0

49.187 - 69.112 Nathan Latka

If you're driving, you better pray that you get stuck in traffic, because you're going to want to listen to this whole thing. Nick Unsworth is a serial entrepreneur and business coach with a focus on Facebook marketing. As CEO of lifeonfire.com, his mission is to inspire the masses to do what they love, relentlessly pursue their passion, and live the dream.

0

69.633 - 89.122 Nathan Latka

Nick sold a business by 30 years old, has coached over 2,150 entrepreneurs, and consulted clients, including New York Times bestselling author John Asraff, Keller Williams Real Estate, SafeCo Insurance, and many more. Nick, are you ready to take us to the top? I am, man. Fired up. Good. I love that. I love that.

0

89.142 - 104.271 Nathan Latka

Well, you have been someone I've been eager to get on the show because you're doing so many things very differently. So, Life on Fire is your main focus, but you're also crushing live events. Walk us through what Life on Fire does and then tie into your event strategy.

104.251 - 124.845 Nick Unsworth

Yeah, definitely. So basically, the whole vision with Life on Fire is to help entrepreneurs do what they love, relentlessly pursue their dreams and live their lives on fire. So that's making more money, driving more abundance into their business than they ever thought possible, but truly having a lifestyle that goes with it. So having time for friends, family, kids, if you have them.

125.426 - 140.808 Nick Unsworth

And so it's just a full package. And what we really focus on is for purpose businesses. And so what that just simply means is the only clients we work with are folks that are interested in getting their message out there to the world. And it might be a message that's inspirational.

140.928 - 156.55 Nick Unsworth

It might be information products, might be coaching, consulting, speaking, but really people that are out making a difference and contributing. And that's our niche. That's what we focus on. And we do that with business coaching. And we also teach Facebook advertising as well to help drive leads and traffic. So

156.53 - 162.779 Nick Unsworth

So it's been so much fun and I've got an awesome, awesome marketing strategy and campaign to share with you here today.

Chapter 2: How does Nick Unsworth define the mission of Life on Fire?

248.115 - 265.039 Nick Unsworth

So, you know, on the first day we actually do this walk over broken glass. We break through a wooden board, you know, because what I found is you have to ask you, do you want to be the next Tony Robbins? You know, it's a little different. I'm not as, I'm not as tall. My hands are not nearly as big. I'm not as loud, but, um,

0

265.019 - 284.412 Nick Unsworth

What's fun is it's really different because Tony's market is really, it's so broad, right? And it's anyone and everyone from corporate to entrepreneurs. And what's cool is that we've really just been disciplined to stay in our lane and narrow our niche. So it's really entrepreneurs that want to build a for-purpose business. And

0

284.392 - 305.124 Nick Unsworth

So the cool thing is, it's just that what I've discovered as a coach is, you know, someone can have the best Facebook strategy or the best technique, but without the mindset and the personal development growth, what I find is a lot of people just don't get themselves to do it or to follow through, or they don't experience joy and happiness in their business because they haven't really evolved with their mindset.

0

305.144 - 323.313 Nick Unsworth

So that's why we combine that at the event. But Um, but the cool thing is, you know, with the event there, you know, part of why we do it is it's really about building community. It's super fun. You know, we have a great network that shows up. Um, but the other piece is that's where we sell our coaching. So, you know, we've got a $20,000 coaching program.

0

323.713 - 331.105 Nathan Latka

Before we jump into that, can you back up the funnel of a bit for a second? So how many people, when was the last event and how many people did you have there?

331.372 - 359.299 Nick Unsworth

Yeah, so the last event was in June, and what we did was we had, let me see, it was about 780 or so people that had claimed a ticket. And what I mean by that is basically we ran a handful of webinars and we did a free ticket offer. So what I love is that we've had folks do this just getting started in business. It works for us.

359.74 - 379.651 Nick Unsworth

So no matter where you are in your walk as an entrepreneur, this event strategy can work in your business. I mean, even folks that have only done an event with 26 people. So what we've done is we've had do webinars and then we give away tickets to the event. We've also sold products and give away tickets. But the thing is that as far as the tickets go, it's $97.

380.853 - 391.551 Nick Unsworth

The event ticket's free, but you have to put down a $97 deposit. And we actually give that check as soon as they register at the event. We give them the check back. So two things happen. One,

391.531 - 410.721 Nick Unsworth

is it's super affordable it's technically a free event for folks to show up but the other thing is that we're still able to to predict how many people are going to show up we're still able to you know organize the event get commitments for who's going to be there and so in the funnel we've got you know we'll do a handful of webinars and we'll offer the the free tickets at the end

Chapter 3: What strategies does Nick use to grow his audience and community?

772.792 - 774.597 Nathan Latka

So what did you offer in that room?

0

774.577 - 793.884 Nick Unsworth

Yeah. So I offered what we call being a fire starter pro, which is a $20,000 coaching package. It comes with four hours of my time and what I call a VIP day where I've got a, it turned out to be a gift that I've got where I can help someone truly drill down and help them figure out their purpose in their life and their business.

0

794.004 - 814.531 Nick Unsworth

And what happens is they go from feeling like they're always just pushing the boulder up the hill in business and struggle, struggle, struggle. Whereas I help them connect with such a deep sense of why and purpose that oftentimes their business model shifts or their target market shifts, or I've had people that they came in and they were a fitness trainer and they wanted to go online.

0

814.551 - 821.539 Nick Unsworth

And next thing you know, they're doing something completely different. And so I do that session with them upfront to really help create the vision for their business.

0

821.599 - 834.077 Nathan Latka

There's no doubt it's valuable. I mean, super, super valuable. So So of those 150 you had in the room, kind of the core group of people you knew were the right fit. I mean, did more or less than the, than, than I guess you needed six of them really to break even at the event.

Chapter 4: How does Nick structure his events for maximum impact?

834.117 - 836.801 Nathan Latka

Did more or less than six people decide to jump into the Firestarter program?

0

837.282 - 852.706 Nick Unsworth

What's wild is we had 42. Oh, wow. Wow. Yeah. And of the 150 in the room, we had about 20 that were clients. So we really had about 130 in the audience that were, you know, what, what are, you know, we would call potential Bible units or people.

0

853.006 - 868.793 Nathan Latka

And, you know, we had 42, just to make sure I get the math right. So 42 times the 20,000 bucks is what about 800 K, right? Oh yeah. Yeah. That's amazing. And so that covers your costs, put on a great event. And even for people who didn't buy, you got to connect with them in person, walk over glass, you make them cry. They break down barriers. I mean, this is like awesome.

0

869.178 - 890.961 Nick Unsworth

Yeah, and what I love is that whether they buy or not, people will literally have big breakthroughs in their business. And I'm getting more clients now. Nick, I don't know what you did to me, but it worked. And so it's just so much fun. And now we're just doing this event twice per year. And because when you look at it, it's like... You know, it's so much fun to do and it's such an experience.

0

890.981 - 913.117 Nick Unsworth

But the revenue, I mean, you back off the $125 for expense. We only spent $9,975 on ads. So about 80% of that room was from ads. Now, it might have been ads served to our custom audience with our email list and things like that. But the majority came through and they were tracked through ads.

Chapter 5: What unique activities are included in the Ignite Your Movement event?

913.137 - 936.48 Nick Unsworth

So to me, part of what I wanted to just plant the seed with you here today is that if you've ever thought about doing events... you could do this exact same model and get 20 people into a room. You could get 50. You know, I did it, you know, I did it with one day events and it's just, it's such a fun way to grow your business. And the best part is it creates the glue.

0

936.861 - 941.849 Nick Unsworth

The stickiness is the community that keeps coming back. And, and so it's just a fun way to operate.

0

941.869 - 959.429 Nathan Latka

So it's such a smart, well, it's such a smart business model. So I can't wait, Nick, that we're about to get into the my favorite part of the show will link to everything you mentioned, including the funnel, how you're breaking it down, your website, the conference site in the show notes at Nathan, lack of.com forward slash the top five, four. Okay. Top tribe.

0

959.65 - 973.283 Nathan Latka

999.082 - 1018.306 Nick Unsworth

All right, I'm obsessed with The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. It unlocks our clients. It is life-changing for them. And that book has just changed my world. It's rocked my world because when you read it, it helps you realize that being outside your comfort zone, fear, all of that, when repositioned and reframed in your head, it actually is a motivator.

1018.507 - 1024.254 Nick Unsworth

And as soon as someone grabs onto that concept, literally, you become unstoppable in business. It's such a beautiful thing.

1024.534 - 1028.92 Nathan Latka

There you go. Number two, Nick, which CEO are you following or studying right now?

1028.9 - 1049.324 Nick Unsworth

Also obsessed with Adam Braun from Pencils of Promise. And what I love about Adam Braun is his whole thing is about building businesses that matter. You know, he calls them for-purpose businesses. And what he has built is Pencils of Promise. They build schools and developing nations and, you know, Guatemala, we've fundraised, we've built a school.

Chapter 6: How does Nick manage the ticketing process for his events?

1187.241 - 1206.573 Nathan Latka

Nick, thank you for taking us to the top. Awesome. Thanks for having me, man. You bet. Bye-bye. Okay, guys, bright and early tomorrow morning, you will hear from Ty Lopez. And let me tell you, this interview gets heated. I flat out asked Ty, I said, Ty, no one thinks you actually own that Lamborghini in your YouTube videos, do you?
