I'm sure we asked you this at one point when we had you on however many years ago it was hard, but talk to me about how Puckpedia was born. Like, tell me about how all this came about because it's become an invaluable resource for NHL fans.
Thanks. Well, as actually way back, kind of had the idea almost nine years ago now. And just, I was a fan, like most people like, love hockey, you know, originally from Edmonton, so love hockey. But I like the business side. And when the salary cap came in, was very interested in how it all fit together. found at the time um you know that was shortly after cap geek had closed um there just wasn't a site that sort of met what i was looking for that had all the information in one place like i had to go one place for salary cap information somewhere else for injury information somewhere else to get like advanced stats um and i just thought this should all be one place and i also found that more casual fans, they would want to know what someone make and I'd refer them to some of the sites out there at the time and they found them very intimidating and hard to find.
They kind of were like giant spreadsheets. And so I thought, well, you know what, I'll make a site that has everything that I want to use and also is sort of inviting to a more casual fan. And hopefully, you know, besides myself and family and friends, other people would come check it out. And here we are all these years later.

Love it. Well, we brought you on to talk more about just the site because you're an expert in the field. Salary cap going up $8.5 million this year, Hart. We are well past the days of flat cap, up to $104 million and a projected jump of $9.5 million next summer. What are you anticipating? How do you think this is going to affect NHL business this summer?
Well, I think it's the combination of some additional cap space, but also the free agent class, which will, let's just be polite and say it's not the strongest free agent class here. And so I think we'll see some sticker shock when you see what some of these players get, because teams have needs to fill. They want to try and get better, and some of them have money burning a hole in their pocket. So we've already seen, I think, the McCarron deal in terms of total dollars, the Charlie Coyle deal in terms of total dollars. um you know people are like whoa but you know when the cap's going up it's just like you know inflation and the growth the price of the grocery store going up and that's what you have to pay um and that's kind of what's been happening what's happening now with the cap jumping up we have what's with inflation and even though we had a pretty decent size cap jump last year of some of the kind of remnants of being tight for so long are finally unwinding a little bit like we have we still have a lot of bonus overages from last year but it's
