If that player isn't selected, there's that knee-jerk, visceral, immediate... And then they rally behind the pick, regardless of whom it is. Because they're first round picks. Most of them play in the NHL. Many of them become very good players in the NHL. And most fans want to see the glass half full. Like Vasily Putkolzin, if we had asked about Vasily Putkolzin going into his draft, I don't think a lot of people would have said, oh yes, hard set, he is my strong preference. Right. And when they selected him at 10th overall, there was a Russian winger. And then people rallied behind the costs.
Tom Villander, right shot defenseman. There was a Zach Benson constituency. There was. And then many went, whoa, wait a second. An all-around right shot defenseman. Rarest commodity in the game.
Well, the Vancouver Canucks haven't drafted this high in a long time. And that's where it changes. The higher you go. Fair. The stakes are higher. And so, you know, there's a lot of options for teams at the 15th overall, 20th overall. You can't be, oh, that's the guy that has to go 20. Like, no one has those takes.
Well, except for if they're looking at who's available still.
