So excited. You know, World Cup is here. You go around the city, you're starting to see little decorations, the aesthetics. You know, you see the Science World Bowl. It looks amazing. Definitely feeling the vibe, and it's coming, guys. It's almost here.
Granville shut down today. For somebody who has made soccer his life's work, Toss, talk to me about how meaningful this moment is to have the world's biggest event come to our shores.
It's surreal. You know, you hear questions all the time. You hear players being asked, did you ever think this would happen? You know, the Atibas, the Julians, all the players and the pioneers that have like, you know, built this game over the years and nobody ever believed they'd see this day. And now it's here, you know, a few days away, Canada will be playing here in Vancouver, you know, and what an opportunity to inspire kids, grow the game and show how big this game is on the global stage. And as well, welcome people from all around the world to Canada, to Vancouver, to Toronto to see how beautiful this country is. It's amazing. I'm excited. I still can't believe it's here, but I'm happy to be one of the people conveying that message to the masses.
Yeah, there's no chance that Carl Valentine or Paul Dolan, when they were on the pitch in 1986, thought that this was going to happen. I mean, even in 40 years, however long it's been here, it's pretty crazy to see everybody...
I can remember being in a newsroom early in my career in the early 2000s. There was a rumor Canada was going to bid for a World Cup, and every Brit in the newsroom told me a million reasons why it would never come to Canada. So take that, England. We've got a World Cup here now, too.

And our stadium looks so great to us. I mean, I know we can't keep the grass. But my God, I mean, given that we know that most of those seats, if not all of them, are going to be full, BC Place is going to present really well, isn't it?
Of course. And like, what a venue, you know, and not only that, just like being downtown, being like so close to like the core of the city, you know, being able to walk to restaurants, bars, like just the whole vibe around the stadium and the venue is going to be amazing. You know, I think of all the people who are going to come here for the first time. You know, you think Turkey is playing here. Belgium's playing here. New Zealand, Australia, Qatar, all these people and all these fans coming and seeing Vancouver dressed up for the occasion is going to be amazing. It's a proud moment as well. And I know the players will enjoy playing in BC Place. I know they've done their part to make sure the grass is good, the venue is good and all the upgrades are suitable for the occasion.

I mean, the reality is we haven't had him for a while. You know, we haven't had him for the better part of a year, you know, so we've seen what the team can do without him. Not saying that it's not a big loss, but it's not something that the team hasn't managed over the course of the year. But yeah, I'm happy with what Jesse said, you know, because there was those reports that, you know, he's out like permanently, but then Jesse walked it back, you know, when they landed in Toronto in the suits and everything.
