Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Breakfast with Gary and Tim.
It's going to be a very busy day on SEN. This is where the SEN network comes into their own. You won't get better coverage than anywhere, than right here. Gerard Waitley up next, into the pipe, and then into Andy Marr and Andy Gaze, right through to Sports Day. Michael Voss has resigned effective immediately as coach of the Carlton Football Club, who's into his fifth year.
He ends up with a 92 win, 118 loss record today. And understandably, the Carlton Footy Club not talking at the moment, but this man represents them in a huge way, both as a player, as a member of Blues Radio now, but also as someone that just loves the footy club, Anthony Kudafidis. Been good enough to take our call. Kuda, good morning. Morning, Gaz. Tim, how are we, boys? Well, we're going well.
It's been a tough year for Carlton fans. You'd know that better than anyone else. What's your immediate reaction to the news that Vossi's decided to step down and resign today?
Yeah, shocked, thinking that it's only round 10. But it's been a tough year, like what you said, Gus.

Chapter 2: What led to Michael Voss' resignation as Carlton coach?
I mean, one win in nine rounds. So obviously he's feeling it. They were terrific last weekend against Brisbane. There was some hope there that they potentially could have beaten their reigning premiers, but they weren't able to get out of the line. But obviously, you know, doing the Blues radio, we're very lucky because we get to see it, you know, in the box.
And I think the last time we've seen him coached to a three-quarter time, there was a lot of things going on. So I dare say, you know, Vossi, who's been terrific at that football club, what a wonderful man he is. I adore him like a lot of other people do as well.
And almost got the boys, you know, they got to the prelim final, had the toughest task to try to beat Brisbane up there in Brisbane and weren't able to get over the line. And then, you know, Collingwood eventually went on to win. But he did a great job, Vossi, really, really good job.
Michael Voss's record, 103 games, Carlton coach, 48 wins, one draw, 53 losses. Kuda, when you look at the failure of this period of time, is it around system or is it around talent, available talent to him?
I feel like Tim, we had the talent there. I mean, obviously, you know, last season, at the end of last season, we lost three key players for us. So this year is a bit of a different, you know, line up different team. But I felt like, For those two or three years, we had the list up. You know, had the plays. We had Kripper in our Brownlow medal form, as we know.
They just weren't able to get over the line. I think it was like two or three years ago, we're halfway through the season. They just looked like they were going to go on to win. That might have been 2024, I think. And they played GWS and had the most outstanding first quarter. And then they were probably up by six or seven goals and then ended up losing that game.
And then it just fell away so quickly. So as quick as it came... as quick as it disappeared as well. And so I feel like they had the list, but as you guys know, it's not easy to win them. It takes a lot more than just a list of great players, but the opportunity was definitely there.
Kuda, there's some highly credentialed candidates out there.

Chapter 3: How has the Carlton Football Club performed under Voss' coaching?
Who would you like to see coach Carlton next?
I don't know. I'll leave it up to the guys at Cullin. But there is, you know, there is a lot. And there's a lot of names that get thrown up. It's whether you go with a tried and tested one, Tim, or whether you go take a bit of a punt and more the unknown that may have that hunger to be able to hopefully, you know, win a premiership for the Cullin Football Club.
I'll leave that to the football club. I don't sit here and, I guess, look around and analyse and think who would be the best. But I'm sure, you know, there's a lot of great
talent of coaches out there and hopefully fingers crossed now that we have a great mix of management there at Carlton that we can pick the right coach to propel us forward it's been a frustrating as you know Tim with Essendon as well frustrating few decades for us and you know we want to see things change
drastically, I think, for everyone, members and supporters and everyone who just love the Colton Football Club. And we need both teams, Colton and Essendon, up there, to be honest. And, you know, the powerhouse clubs of the competition makes it more fun for everyone.
Hey, Kuda, it's a busy morning. I know you've just heard the news. We really appreciate you taking a call. You've got a young fella who's coming through the ranks as well. How's he tracking at the minute?
He's going well, thanks, Kaz. I feel sorry for him because he's had a lot of media attention, you know, this year. But, you know, he's been a great... Ever since he was a young kid, he's sort of, you know, been... I'm not going to say dominate, but he's been a great player. And now he's getting quite a bit of exposure.
Yeah, so he was, you know, named captain of the Northern Knights under-16, which was a thrill for me to hear that when he got announced that as well. But, you know, he's a good kid. He loves his footy. He's loved... sport ever since he was a young kid. He loves the Carlton Football Club. He's hanging to go and watch them play on Saturday.
Now he's in the U10, playing first footy at Kerry Grammar and doing really well. He's good.

Chapter 4: What factors contributed to Carlton's struggles this season?
Their kicking is fundamental that they need to get right. I couldn't agree with you more. We'll take a break. Josh Jenkins to join us soon. But for the rest of the show, the lines will be open. 1-300-736-736.
