What goes through your mind at three-quarter time? Is it just natural for you to just do that, or do you consciously say to yourself, I'm actually going to go crazy in the last quarter? Do you even think about it?
No, we spoke in the three-quarter time huddle that we wanted to attack the last quarter and take the game on. We felt like we were playing a little bit too safe and probably a bit boring, to be honest. We wanted to free up a little bit, and on the back of that, I felt like I was able to get into the game. I thought my first three quarters were... A little bit poor.
Pressure around the ball wasn't there and that's where I wanted to start my game and fortunately we're winning out the middle. Thanks to big Oscar Steen who was awesome in the ruck and I was probably the beneficiary of his work.

Chapter 2: What did Nick Daicos think about the win over Carlton?
So for me, there's no pressure individually going into games, feeling like I have to perform amazingly to get us over the line. I feel like I just need to do my role. And like I said before, I think if I get the pressure game going, that's where I feel like I can drive the energy of the team.
So going into every game, it starts with a defensive focus and felt like I was poor there in the first three quarters.
Chapter 3: How does Nick Daicos handle pressure during crucial game moments?
So that's something that I want to bring next. This Saturday and Anzac Day is the pressure side of things.
The list at the pies is always interesting. I've had my say that I'm a bit concerned about the lack of young players coming along. Nick, the club disagrees. I had a brief conversation with Craig McRae about this on Thursday night, and I understand your perspective and the club's view on it. But look, there's no Nick Watson, there's no Bailey Humphrey, there's no Dersmers coming along.
Do you get involved in list management at all and give your say on the future of it?
No, I don't. I sort of just focus on... My part in just trying to play good footy on the ground, but I feel like we've been able to play some younger players this year. I saw Angry Anderson, Will Hayes, Rowan Steele, a few of those boys step up on Thursday night. I thought Oscar Steen, they were unbelievable. So hopefully that's great growth for us.
I think some of the development will also come from a game plan point of view, watching Melbourne and The way they've been freed up and in a high-scoring team, some of their young players are thriving in it. And I feel like if we can maybe put some bigger scores on the board and free the boys up, it'll assist with their development, which we did on Thursday night. The coaches have been awesome.
Sort of, they say, handing over the keys to us to play the game and drive the car, as we said. And I feel like the boys did that awesome, especially in the last quarter.
Your contract's been a hot topic. It's still a way to go. Have you been following the coverage of that or bemused or had a laugh about it or not?
I haven't been buying too much into it. A few of my mates have been flicking me some text messages, having a laugh about it and stirring me up. But no, I'm very happy where I am. And as I said, I think our list is in a great spot to not only contend now, but hopefully also develop some players for the future, which we saw on Thursday night.
A player can't come into the club on more than you. So if Zach Butters or Ben King or whoever comes, they cannot be paid more than you. Do you agree?

Chapter 4: What activities are Nick Daicos and his team involved in at the Shrine of Remembrance?
You expressed a desire to play more forward of the ball, like Heaney, like Bontempelli. We've all seen what you're able to do in that last quarter. Do you have a conversation with the coach on the back of that or is there just an expectation that that role will grow?
No, he's been awesome with bringing me up to sort of make the decision out on the ground and in particular in the last quarter I was sort of playing mid-forward and I felt like I had a match-up where I could go to full forward and potentially do some damage. So he gives me the opportunity to really drive that. But yeah, as I said, Thursday night after the game I feel like
they're the best players in the comp because they don't need the ball 30 times to impact a game and that's the level I want to get my game to whether I have 15 or 20 touches but a lot of it's forward to centre and doing a lot of damage that way that's the player I want to be. So, yeah, I love the forward minutes.
I've got to continue to evolve my craft and ensure that I'm ready to sort of take any match-up down there. But, yeah, it's good growth in my game, I think. So what would it look like?
So to Collingwood fans thinking, okay, I'm going to go along to Anzac Day and watch what they're doing with Nick, what sort of percentages are you talking? Are you talking a shift from 80-20 to 60-40 or 50-50? What are you talking about?
Yeah, I think it would change every week depending upon who we're playing and where I'm needed, where Jamie Elliott's best suited or Jordan Dugowie, who hopefully we get back this Saturday too. So we've got so many players that can sort of roll through those positions. But yeah, I'd like to think sort of that 60-40 split might allow me to play a little bit more game time too.
if it means that I can rest it full forward, um, and probably not run as much as I would in the midfield. So, uh, I'm open to anything, whatever the coach thinks, but, um, yeah, I love the opportunity to get down there and try and kick a goal and set something up.

No, I didn't notice anything was off and, um, obviously, uh, seen a bit of coverage on it after the game and, um, It's quite sad.
