Would you want to talk about your legends round idea?
Do we want to throw it out there?
Yeah, I think so.
We had an idea yesterday.
You did. I did. Unless it takes off. I don't want to claim anything. If it takes off, I'll then be a part owner of it.
Well, we sort of acknowledge everything and there are great causes out there and we have rounds of football that are dedicated to different organisations. And I was just thinking on the back of that conversation that we had about the 100 games, the best 100 games, and then you gave me the stats of Peter Hudson. I thought, you know what?
We need to acknowledge these people more, the people that have been the great players of the game, the legends of the game, and actually have a legends round where a club can nominate one of their club legends from the past and then some storytelling. And people can actually acknowledge these people because...
There are kids growing up today that don't know who Barassi was or they don't know who Dick Reynolds was. There are greats of football clubs who've had the most incredible careers and have helped shape the game over the years who I just get forgotten in the history of the game.

Chapter 2: What is Tim's idea for a new themed round in the AFL?
And I reckon it would be a great thing just for us to actually just have a round where we acknowledge the legends of the game.
So... And it changes each year.
Each year it changes, yeah.
Whoever's playing at this particular time might be Hawthorne versus North Melbourne and they nominate... Maybe it's Kelvin Moore, one of the great fullbacks from back in the day for the Hawks. And North Melbourne can be anyone, Malcolm Blight or whatever. And that game is dedicated to them. You get there early. There's great vision and storytelling around it.
Yeah, the family gets involved in some way. It's a celebration of the game. Like a lot of these, we do a lot of things, but I just don't know whether we pause often enough to reflect on the game. and what the game has been and where it came from and all those people that were instrumental in the construction of the game and the roles that they played, the type of players that they were.
And I think it just creates a great conversation around the game that we probably don't have as often as what we should have. I love it.
I think it would be fantastic and it's a pure football celebration. Yeah, 40. There's no... hidden agenda in it at all. It's just to say, okay, this year we are going to celebrate on this day this particular player who's had such a big impact on our football club.
That's right. And maybe that player, maybe that player who's nominated by a club each and every year, maybe that name gets printed across the top of the jumper, at the back of the jumper, and it just becomes something that we celebrate as part of that team and part of that player's contribution. Yep. Just an idea. I don't know whether I'll get off the ground or not, Gary.
I don't know whether you're going to be able to push it enough to all the people. I love it.
