Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
One of our favourites of being here early. He gets up early. He does the work. Love it. There are no days off for this man, Sammy Edmund, our chief sports reporter.
Sam Edmund is here.
How'd you stuff that up? Stuff what up? Sam Edmund is here.
Is that a stuff up? It's factually correct, isn't it? I was there. I'm third person. They need context to these things. You're just going to cut little bits and bobs.
That's what they do. That's what they do. That's not fair. Anything overrated in life, according to you?
Not this. Coffee. I'm so glad that wasn't on the list.
Holiday photos?
Fireworks is up there for me. And I know that was mentioned earlier. Yeah. You've seen one set of fireworks. You've seen them all.
You a fan of ballet?

Chapter 2: What injury news emerged from last night's clash at the MCG?
Do as I say, not as I do. Exactly. Right. So real concern over that one.
Anything else? Yeah. There's a few other things. Still side bottom. That right hand stomped on. Looked broken. He believes it isn't broken. There may be a vessel or something like that. Jeez, it looked horrific, didn't it? So I think he'll be okay. Darcy Cameron, not so sure. Right ankle, really sore. He's going to be scanned today. Nick Dacos and Jamie Elliott were playing under duress as well.
They'll be checked over. Harry Perryman. Well, he's definitely going to miss some footy. That's a hamstring tear. James Cicely was very sore with that ankle as well. Went forward, couldn't play back. He'll be scanned too. Sam Mitchell was hopeful he'd be okay. Predicted he would be taken to Perth and given every chance next week.
I think he'll finish the season forward, Cicely. There you go. Put that in your time capsule. Weddle back, Cicely forward.
I've got that option. What else is on the agenda this morning, Sammy? Richmond's injury list has now blown out to 16.
My word, it has. And the 16th name is a really disappointing one to hear about. So Sam Lawler, after all the hamstring injuries last year, has a partial tear of the Achilles. Now, this could be weeks. It could be months. It's hard to tell at the moment. Richmond are saying they'll have a more accurate timeline in the next few days.
So the view would be, without any medical expertise whatsoever, if there's a partial tear... With where they are at right now, the Tigers, he is their most important asset. To even take the slightest risk of getting this guy back in weeks and not multiple months would be a risk not worth taking for me.
Yep. I agree with that. And they've defended this ballooning injury list, Richmond, as just basically just a run of bad luck. Oh, yeah. Lawless played every game, including the Demons, off a five-day break. So we can sit here with hindsight and without any of the facts, as you say, from a long way away.
But he'd have to have been due arrest at some particular point in time after all the soft issues last year. We see clubs man-managing players all the way through. They know their player the best, of course. But gee whiz, they're counting the cost now because he's going to miss some football, some serious football.

Chapter 3: What concerns exist about player injuries moving forward?
It would appear to be most likely Victorian South Australia would play then the following year. How this ties into Gather Round and all that remains a topic of conversation. There were whispers over in SA, actually, that Peter Malinowskis might be in a position to announce the Gather Round contract actually at Showdown tonight. That appears to be on the back burner now. It's going to happen.
It's going to be a long-term deal. But at the moment, we don't know anything about that in terms of its specifics. But Victorian SA can't play in Perth, can they?
Well, no, I wouldn't have thought so. Now, those like Tim Gossage would say that it would still work. I don't think that could be the case.
That's origin. You like that patriotism in the crowd, don't you, for me? Yeah. But so again, that subject to official confirmation, but most clubs that I've spoken to this morning say it will definitely be WASA in Perth.
Any idea on when that would be?
No. And the timing of it, I think it'll be later in the season. We know next year's schedule is going to be tilted due to the cricket.
I reckon it'll be in March sometime, which will help, won't it, in terms of... Going to be a lot more headwinds, I think, for Origin from club land, as we just heard briefly from Dean Cox about some things that they would change.

Chapter 4: How is Richmond managing its growing injury list?
I think there'll be a bit more reluctance from clubs.
Four 15-minute quarters is what it'll be.
And maybe a bit more open slather, extended scores. Don't be a denier. I loved it. I was there. I was right involved. I loved it. But there is no doubt that some clubs still are counting the costs. Calamachi, Sam Taylor, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. I'm just telling you. I'm all for it. But there will be changes. Mark my words. I called for Craig Bellamy's head last week. What's the latest?
Jeez.
Jeez, you'd like to take that back? He was in full health until you did.
Neurodegenerative disorder is what the Melbourne Storm told us last night after consultation with specialists in recent weeks. So this is pretty upsetting for Craig Bellamy.
I wasn't aware of that. The coach of the Melbourne Storm.
No, no, he's seriously unwell at the moment. However, they're saying this will not have an impact on his ability to coach the team in the immediate future.
Isn't that amazing? What Matty Tripp said yesterday.

Chapter 5: How does Nik Cox's return impact Essendon's lineup?
I'm sorry about that. It might be six, in fact.
Is it a sept? Is it definitely Quinn? Quinn's five, yeah. Okay.
You sound pretty confident. No, you sound confident. Hey, Captain's Run? Yep. Up from nine. Can't wait for it. Looking forward to that. Sammy Edmund is in fine form. If you're looking for music, Bunnings Tradio is on DRB Plus and the SEN app. You're not talking about the dryer. My 100% dryer. Back with Feeball next.
