Yeah, so I've just checked on this this morning. So I know Jay spoke about it on First Crack with Kingy last night. So the process is that in the next couple of days, the AFL will remind clubs that they just can't rest bulk players or if they do intend to rest bulk players for the purposes of being fresh for the wildcard or finals. then they need to seek approval from the AFL first. It's under Rule 29, which is called performing on one's merits and at all times to perform honestly and to the best of one's ability in the pursuit of only legitimate competitive objectives. So this follows Ross Lyon in, I think it was 2013, resting a lot of players for Freo. And then when they did the same again in 2015, they sought permission from the AFL.
So the commission had to... had to introduce this Rule 29. The people I speak to this morning believe that if, let's say, Collingwood was to arrest 10 of their best players, in order to do so, they would have to seek approval from the AFL first if it was en masse like that. So it is highly unlikely it gets to a fine because the AFL would be across the process in the first place.
