Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Now on Fireball, the Friday Agenda. All right, for IMAR protecting tradies and builders for over 35 years, call 13IMAR to get yourself covered today. I can't wait any longer. The ball is on the edge of their seat. What's happened? Oh, this is my key. I can't believe I didn't know about this at 6 o'clock this morning, but anyway. So I just want to play some audio first.
This is how the story started. Ross Lyons' press conference during the week, he spoke about Max King.
Yeah, he's going to get there. It's not repetitive soft strain issue. It's just, it's a nonsense, right? So, and then there was reference made to we don't let anyone work with our players outside. And it was you, Korn. But the bottom line is that happened before this regime, when Matty Lloyd reached out. So, you know, let's go back to the 2010 Grand Final, the bounce, you know.
So this- When do I get a chance to respond to that first? Later on. Later on. I'm telling you, it'll pale into insignificance. So we had Sean last week, Sean from One Turner, just highlight the fact that one of our producer at the back there, the double agent, had sent a text of his own personal nature about his ex-girlfriend to the ex-girlfriend. It's an error. Bring him in.
Bring him in, the double agent. Can you come in here, please? Because we were in the throes of getting Ross on this week. He was a chance to come on. So the one thing you wouldn't do is send that grab to Ross. Back to Ross. Is that what happened? Guess who sent Ross clipping you back to Ross.

Chapter 2: What was discussed in Ross Lyon's press conference about Max King?
He sent it to us. Sammy, please explain yourself. Oh, it's a fatal mistake. I've got form in this area. He sent it to Ross and it hasn't gone well. What's the response? Oh, it was Kurt. Pretty blunt one, Mac. And then he tried to explain himself and got another sharp one. I even said go Saints. He threw a go Saints. Didn't help.
So Ross has basically sacked us now because of you. No hope. You've had a week. So do you have to follow this up? What are we going to do here with the Saints? They don't have a media boss at the moment. Who's going to deal with this? You have to go through Ross for everything. They're on the hunt for a media person. They've reached out and asked me for my references.
Maybe leave it to us for a couple of weeks to get some people on. So he sent Ross clipping you. Ross would have thought, what's he sending me this for? Yeah, yeah. So what did you think of the feedback? I need to know what he responded with. Yeah, well, it was... Private, is it? It was short. Short. Yeah. There was an off in there, I know that, but anyway.
No, I didn't... Look, I'd have to go check the tape, but I wasn't suggesting that they don't let Max... this current regime seek outside help. But in the past, they have.
Chapter 3: How did the 'double agent' incident unfold during the episode?
I'm not sure what they do with the new regime. But if Max... And Max should be seeking outside help because the current group at the Saints haven't been able to fix his body. And Ross said that there hasn't been repetitive strain issues. Well, there's been three this year. So, I mean... There's been three soft tissues already. We're only at round nine.
So I would think that's reasonably repetitive. He's had a calf. He's had a calf setback. And now he's got a six-week hammy. So I think there's some issues with soft tissue as well as the knees, as well as the hips, as well as the groins, as well as the ankles. There's been a lot. And I just think his career's on the line. So if he needs outside help, they should be free to let him seek it.
And I'm glad that Ross is open to Max going to get some help outside because the current group haven't been able to solve his issues. Yeah. That's all. It's very hard outside looking in to work out what they're doing. I mean, it is a tough one.
Hey, do you think that we've talked a lot about the slow midfielders being maybe a thing of the past and maybe we're moving through that phase and we're going to the skinnier versions, the dancers in the absolute midfield. Do you think it'll affect the draft period over the next couple of seasons?
Ah.
Are we looking for a different model now? Probably, yeah. Like, are you talking about the McInerney type? Yeah. Skinnier. The Windsor rather than the Ollie Wines type. Yes. I think the Darcy Wilson types are going to be very valuable players, which brings me to... Dan Curtin. So Dan Curtin, one game back, didn't set the world on fire, and he wouldn't have been expected to in that showdown.
But when he was out, it was like he became Marcus Bonson-Pelly for Adelaide. That's how we were talking about Dan Curtin, and we're probably all guilty of it. What a blow for Adelaide. He's the inside big midfielder that they need. Did we get...
carried away what is what is dan kern i've heard this week that they should trade him adelaide back to brisbane to play with his brother if they can secure bailey a couple of people have gone with that which i didn't mind the opinion but what's his position is it is it a big wingman is it an inside mid is it a is it a third forward with no walker uh fogarty underdone what is it king where's he play i think he's a big mid he's a big inside mid i think with a step on him
He's a bit of a tackle breaker. Is he better than Connor Nash? I think so, yeah. Okay. I've got a higher opinion of him than you. No, no, I don't have a poor opinion. He hasn't played much footy, I just haven't seen. But the way we were talking about him... It was like, gee whiz, Dan Curtin's a huge blow for Adelaide. Is he? He is a good outlet kick. He can take a contested mark.
