Chapter 1: How did Riyad Mahrez impact Manchester City's victory?

7.642 - 24.862 Unknown

A long ball and a long ball here from Edison has got Sterling into a position where they can set up their first goal here and they have done. Knocked in by Riyad Mahrez. Who has mixed emotions here, the former Leicester City man.

0

26.383 - 36.535 Gary Neville

And he scored there in his last appearance for Leicester City and his first for Manchester City. A fitting match winner tonight, Riyad Mahrez now with Jeff Shreves.

0

38.438 - 48.395 Jeff Shreves

Riyad, congratulations on getting the winner tonight for Manchester City, but of course you're very much a son of Leicester as well. How has the weekend been for you, given the tragic events?

0

49.337 - 62.64 Riyad Mahrez

To be honest, it's been very, very difficult for me. It's not easy to have this type of stuff. The boss was

0

Chapter 2: What emotions did Mahrez express after scoring the winning goal?

63.532 - 100.66 Riyad Mahrez

very special to me. I spent like four and a half years there and I have many memories with him. He was such a Such a good person, such a good human. So I'm very, very, very sad. And that's why today when I scored, I put my hands in the sky for him because he did a lot for me and for Leicester. And it's difficult to speak about it because it's very sad. And it's difficult, yeah.

0

101.5 - 106.668 Jeff Shreves

You're saying similar things to many of the Leicester players. Just what a fantastic guy he was.

0

Chapter 3: How did Tottenham's defense perform against Manchester City's attack?

106.929 - 110.074 Jeff Shreves

Not just an owner, but a friend and so supportive to everybody.

0

110.615 - 143.204 Riyad Mahrez

Yeah, he was like a dad for us, you know. He was very, very special. Believe me, he was such a good person, very big heart. And it was heartbroken and shocking for me too. to have this news and of course with the other people who died with him. It's a difficult situation and I'm with Leicester and I'm with the family of the victim because it's not an easy situation, yeah.

0

143.224 - 146.07 Jeff Shreves

When did you decide that you wanted to play tonight?

0

147.012 - 156.643 Riyad Mahrez

No, I always wanted to play because I know he would have wanted me to play. He was very passionate about football.

0

Chapter 4: What were the key moments that could have changed the game for Tottenham?

158.204 - 174.302 Riyad Mahrez

It was difficult, but I kept thinking about him. It was difficult to sleep as well after that, but it's part of life, it's difficult.

0

174.67 - 179.517 Jeff Shreves

Well, you did your job and you dedicated your goal to him. Very, very well done and well spoken.

0

179.877 - 180.178 Riyad Mahrez

Thank you.

0

181.74 - 192.915 Gary Neville

Very nice tribute to the Leicester chairman, Vichai Srividana Prava, who, of course, died on Saturday night. But how important was his contribution on the pitch tonight, Gary?

0

193.52 - 207.552 Unknown

In the first 15 minutes, him and Raheem Sterling were a huge threat to Tottenham. Tottenham looked nervous in full-back areas, in particular Kieran Trippier, obviously for the goal. And that's what good wide players do.

Chapter 5: How did the pitch conditions affect the players' performance?

207.592 - 222.789 Unknown

They challenge the space behind you. You never know where they're going to be. And Manchester City's movement of the wide players is fantastic. And they were absolutely key to the achievement of the night. It was obviously the key goal. On a difficult pitch, it wasn't ideal.

0

223.049 - 224.573 Gary Neville

Do you think that's why they were nervous?

0

226.375 - 234.595 Unknown

I don't know, really. I think sometimes when you go into a game as a full-back and you know you're playing against a real top player, you must start well. You must start well.

0

Chapter 6: What tactical changes did Manchester City implement this season?

234.615 - 252.922 Unknown

Your first pass, your first tackle, your first header. I always used to think in a game that if a winger beat you one-on-one in that first... The first one, you couldn't get beat one-on-one. If he does you the first time, you've got real problems. And Kieran Trippier got done the first time off Raheem Stern. At that point on, you're really thinking, I'm in for a long night here.

0

252.982 - 265.654 Unknown

It takes a lot to get back. Even though you're an experienced player, Kieran Trippier's played in World Cups, he's played many games, it still gives you that feeling that he's got me. And it gives the confidence to the opposition. And you can't get beat on that first one.

0

Chapter 7: How are Bournemouth and Watford performing this season?

265.994 - 281.409 Jamie Carragher

What's your take on the goal, Jamie? I thought it was really poor from Kieran Trippier. I think he's just got to head the ball away. I think he's trying to be too clever, trying to find the goalkeeper. That maybe comes 20, 30 minutes into the game when you've got that confidence to do something like that. I mean, I mentioned a half-time.

0

281.829 - 293.981 Jamie Carragher

I mean, that's a great opportunity there to go on to that ball, head it, leave a little bit on still. Never know, it's going to be a tough game. Gary's talking about the winger getting the better of you in that first duel. Great opportunity, lovely ball there.

0

Chapter 8: What does the future hold for Tottenham and Mauricio Pochettino?

294.001 - 317.12 Jamie Carragher

Just go and win it and head it up the pitch. just goes there. You just don't take that risk. Now, we'll see from the second angle, he has a little pop at the goalkeeper. Even there, he's made two mistakes. Not just the header, he then gets done on the 1v1. Too easy. And you see his arms out there looking at the goalkeeper. I don't like that. When you make a mistake... Hold your hands up.

0

317.14 - 333.92 Jamie Carragher

It was him. There's nothing to do with the goalkeeper. Now, you see him touch it back there. Now, if I stop it there, I think, look, could Lloris be maybe there? You know, two or three yards higher, maybe, but I still don't think he gets that ball. So it's nothing to do with Hugo Lloris there. I think it only would be, wouldn't it? He's a goalkeeper that plays quite high up the pitch.

0

333.94 - 354.703 Jamie Carragher

Yeah, but... I mean, well, to be honest, he's made a lot of mistakes this year, coming high up the pitch. Is that why? Maybe he's taking a deeper position. Maybe, but I tell you, don't he be another two yards there? Now, there's no way he'd have got there before Raheem said, I don't think. And then he gets done again. Great run from Myers, we see that. It's also a really good finish.

0

354.723 - 376.184 Jamie Carragher

And in this position here, Jamie, what should he be doing, Kieran Trippier? Better defensively. I mean, he just does them on the outside where there is a lack of space, really. Just take it back there. So he's being done. Now, Sterling is probably a yard ahead of him there now. And he's... See that? There. You think of what happened at the weekend with Guy on Martial, where he sort of dived in.

0

377.326 - 399.888 Jamie Carragher

It wasn't a penalty, by the way. But look at Kieran Trippier, now he goes for the ball. Just actually stay with him. There's not that much space there to... If he's 20 yards further back, he's got the space to run past him. But we're talking, what, probably five or six yards to the byline. So if you actually defend, there's not that much space to actually be done with pace or trickery.

400.068 - 402.23 Jamie Carragher

And he dives in and he gets done. Gary, go on.

402.451 - 419.442 Unknown

Yeah, I mean... These mistakes that Kieran Trippish made, I've made plenty of these mistakes. What happens is you make the first mistake, you have to somehow recover really quickly so that you don't go and make the second. Quite often what you do, you try and recover a first mistake by trying to do something that you shouldn't be doing. And a stiff leg challenge in the box.

420.124 - 439.135 Unknown

Idrissa Gueye yesterday made exactly the same challenge Kieran Trippie has made one. It's a false challenge. You're always likely to either give a penalty away, get beaten. It's not the natural way to tackle into the box. He just has to forget about the first one and manage Sterling. Even if he lets him get a crossing, it's not the end of the world. He can't dive in and let him go past him.

439.576 - 445.785 Unknown

So he does get done that. And it's mistakes we've all made where you make the first one, then you follow up with the second one straight away.
