Chapter 1: What happened in the Premier League on Super Sunday?

3.288 - 20.695 David Jones

Hull City lose their status then in the Premier League on south London soil, well beaten by a jubilant Crystal Palace by four goals to nil. And you can hear the celebrations from as far as South Wales, because Swansea confirmed their status in the Premier League next season. But you can hardly fault Marco Silva.

0

20.755 - 41.591 David Jones

Damage really done last summer for Hull City when they failed to build on promotion back to the Premier League, and Mike Phelan tried to do the best he could with such limited resources. Then they decided to change their manager, sold two of their best players, brought seven in, including Ranocchia. Didn't go his way today. and didn't go Hull's way either, wasn't even close in the end.

0

41.611 - 51.563 David Jones

He couldn't change around their fortunes away from home, and that was the biggest problem, nowhere in the last 18 games on their travels. Just a step too much for them today. Too much to ask, Jamie?

0

Chapter 2: How did Hull City fare against Crystal Palace?

51.723 - 68.144 David Jones

I think last week was the damage, really. Losing at home to Sunderland in a game where they expected to get three points. And today they started off so badly, couldn't get themselves going. It was a really poor performance from them today, but as you say, the damage was done probably early in the season.

0

68.164 - 85.188 David Jones

Marco Silva, I'd say, did OK, had a few good results, and then all of a sudden it started to go wrong the last few games. So I've been in that position. It's an awful position when you've been relegated. There's nothing like it, and it's going to hurt a lot of those players, but let's hope that they've got to try and build for next season. Will they reflect Thierry today?

0

85.208 - 89.314 David Jones

Do you think that perhaps the approach wasn't right from the start?

0

Chapter 3: What were the implications of Swansea's survival in the Premier League?

89.334 - 117.208 Thierry Henry

Well, I mean... They had to deal with, since the beginning of the season, with not having enough players, change of manager, guys getting injured. Typical season of the team that looks like they're going to go down. They were on a good run, if I can say, especially at home. And again, I'm going to have to mention the same thing that Jamie mentioned. We lost against Sunderland. you know, at home.

0

117.589 - 130.495 Thierry Henry

Wow, I didn't see that one coming. I thought they were going to stay up at one point, in all fairness, but the way they started the game today was very poor and after that you find yourself behind the head ball and they never came back into the game, obviously.

0

131.268 - 132.269 David Jones

You don't get relegated.

0

Chapter 4: What key factors led to Hull City's relegation?

132.309 - 150.795 David Jones

They've not got relegated because a guy makes a mistake today, maybe they should have had a handball given in their favour. They've been disappointing all year. They've not performed. I think it was a mirror image of really what they've been about this year. Some of the football is decent enough, they didn't carry any threat. I mean, you can see goals the way they can see the first two.

0

151.147 - 165.404 David Jones

Poor, poor goals. Listen, if you win a league, you win it because you deserve to win it. If you get relegated, it's because you deserve to get relegated. Completes the hat-trick for the North East, not when they wanted, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, and now Hull City dropping out of the Premier League.

0

Chapter 5: How did Liverpool secure their place in the top four?

165.424 - 181.903 David Jones

Swansea survive, and look at Crystal Palace now, who we talked about at the start of the day as relegation possible, is right up there, comfortable on 41 points. And what about the job that Sam Al-Addis has done in that time at Crystal Palace? Yeah, he's done a good job. I would say probably the easiest job he's ever had.

0

182.344 - 198.225 David Jones

When you look at the quality of players that Crystal Palace possess, maybe to holes, it's vast difference. You've got Benteke, Kabaye, Townsend, Zaha, full of really good quality. So they shouldn't really be in this position. And that's got to be their aim next year, not to be fighting relegation with two or three games to go. They've got too many good players for that.

0

198.886 - 201.93 David Jones

Sam's done a good job, but I would say probably the easiest job he's ever had.

0

Chapter 6: What impact did Daniel Sturridge have in Liverpool's match?

202.41 - 211.541 David Jones

Let's find out what he's made of it. His reaction now with Greg Whelan. Sam, congratulations, mission accomplished. Some of your thoughts on knowing that you're safe.

0

213.707 - 238.731 Sam Allardyce

Well, it's a massive relief, I think that's for sure. I mean, we all know the implications of relegation today the devastation it causes to a football club, and obviously this football club's been in the Premier League five years, six years or so, and wants to grow in it now. It's a brilliant effort from the players today. Tactically, we set out to nullify

0

238.711 - 249.657 Sam Allardyce

Old City and really just expose them where we thought they were weak, which is they held a high line, put a quality ball in behind and obviously that goes off to a great start with the first goal.

0

Chapter 7: What was the significance of Spurs' last game at White Hart Lane?

250.299 - 274.626 Sam Allardyce

Then on the corners, how they pick up on corners leaves but they don't pick up the zone, so we get between them and a great ball in gets us two. Then they're going to change it and throw everything caution to the wind, so we said sit in and just defend that situation, give them no spaces, don't give them any encouragement. We didn't need to score. to win this game. They needed to score.

0

274.666 - 289.812 Sam Allardyce

We nullified all of that by allowing them all the possession they wanted, but no chances. And then they finally overcommit and we knocked two great goals in in the end. So it's a perfect performance from the players today for

0

289.792 - 311.901 Sam Allardyce

four nil uh a clean sheet and uh terrific for everybody that's taken part since i've been here uh not just a squad but everybody behind the scenes and the fans particularly in the end right behind us and i've been with since we've been here really so uh like i said it's it's a great relief you've kept teams up before of course how does this achievement compare

0

Chapter 8: What does the future hold for Tottenham after leaving White Hart Lane?

312.775 - 336.842 Sam Allardyce

I think because of the running, the size of the teams we had to play, this was the hardest. We've now not wasted the magnificent results we achieved, particularly in that short spell against Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. If you've seen what Arsenal have done since we beat them 3-0 and what they are now, it's quite a remarkable performance that night.

0

336.822 - 356.952 Sam Allardyce

We've had a little slip-up and that really came through quite a lot of injuries, really. And now we've come back and last home game, what a way to finish in front of your own fans, 4-0. I know it puts all down after a brave fight, but, you know, for us, it's a great, great feeling. Sam, congratulations. Pleasure, thanks.

0

356.972 - 364.062 David Jones

Strange old season, really, for Sam Allardyce, who started it, remember, as the England manager, who said that was his toughest job, his toughest assignment. What do you make of that?

0

364.683 - 392.309 Thierry Henry

I think that yes, they stayed up because they won at Anfield, they won at Chelsea and they beat Arsenal well. He's talking about tactic. Tactic is to wait and counter. For me today, for example, they're 2-0 up. against a side that looks already down, and they're still playing the same way, playing on the counter-attack, waiting for a mistake to score a goal, and fair play to him. They stayed up.

0

392.79 - 402.722 Thierry Henry

But with the team that you have, I would like to think that you could play a bit better, especially when you're 2-3-0 up against a team like that. You should be able to possess that ball with the players that you have. But, hey, job done.

405.689 - 422.803 David Jones

Well, how good was that from Liverpool, Graham? Job well done. They did what they had to do. I'm not sure if West Ham were bang at it, but that's their problem. Liverpool have done what they had to do today and did it impressively. How impressive was Daniel Sturridge? His first start, Thierry, we should remember, since January 2nd.

422.783 - 443.51 Thierry Henry

Yeah, he was. I mean, you expect him to deliver when he's called upon, like he always does. I shall say, the problem that he has is when he obviously doesn't play. That's one of the problems that he has. But you always fancy him when he receives that ball to score. We had no doubt, even when we were off air, when that ball arrived, we were like, he's going to score, and he did.

444.051 - 451.761 Thierry Henry

I mean, this is the man that for me was amazing today, Coutinho. But, hey, Daniel Solridge always in this position, you fancy him to score, and he did.

451.741 - 464.098 David Jones

Do you think, Jamie, he's still got a big part to play at Liverpool? Or might this be the last we see of him? Very difficult. It's a dilemma for the manager because you can't get enough game time out of him. The problem is when he plays, he can do magic things with the football. He really can.
