Chapter 1: What does it mean to stop trying to be like everyone else?
Stop trying to be like everyone else. You are the second best version of someone else. You are the best version of you. People talk about authenticity all the time. What does that mean? That means a true expression of the values that are most important to you. And so what are values most important to you? I have two values that really are the cornerstone of my life. Zest and consistency.
Zest is like, I want to live life with energy and enthusiasm because my three sort of buckets that I pour into are energy, work, and love. That's how I live my life. That's based on the fundamentals I talked about earlier, which is eating well, moving well, sleeping well, and thinking well.
Those are the four sort of subcategories of my energy because I want my energy to be as good as humanly possible so I can show up every day as the best version of me. every day as the best version of me.
Chapter 2: How can identifying your core values transform your life?
So energy, and I want to get into deep work and deep love. That's how I sort of shape my life. And what was I talking about?
Oh man, totally lost my train of thought with that idea. Energy, work, love, buckets, stop trying to be like everyone else. But yeah, core values. Oh, there we go. Got it back, baby. Let's go. Stay with me. Stay with me. We're right here. We're not cutting this. Let's go. And so Those are the sort of buckets I live by. And I don't want to be like everyone else because I'm not like everyone else.
I'm the best version of me.
Chapter 3: What are the four subcategories of energy for a better life?
I'm the second best version of someone else. And so my two main core values that I live with in life are zest and consistency. Talk about zest, right, and energy and enthusiasm for life because I separate my life into three buckets, energy, work, and love. And then my second biggest core value is consistency. I want to be consistent as humanly possible as a husband,
as a father and as a podcaster. That's where it consistently lies for me. And because of those two values, they resonate most deeply with me As a human being, that's what I've decided are most important to me and some other values, but zest and consistency are the values that I want to live by, and that makes me unique. That makes me me.
Also, it's like one in a trillion for someone to be born, so no matter what I do, I'm as unique as humanly possible. There will never be another person like me, and there will never be another person like you. That's why I said previous, the world needs you here. not a warped sort of dimmed down version of you. They need the best version of you.
We need all of the gifts and the uniqueness you have to offer because you make the world a better place because of it. And that's what doing this work is all about. That's what stopping these things is all about. That's what going for it is all about. So again, stop trying to be like everyone else.
Come up with some core values, a personal philosophy that really identify with you, mind, zest, and consistency, and see how they fit into those buckets of energy, work, and love, and then breaking down energy into eating well, moving well, sleeping well, and thinking well.
