Sourcing Industry Group, or SIG, is the premier global sourcing association and is widely known as a forum for providing thought leadership, networking, and training opportunities. Another central element of SIG is training. SIG is the parent organization for SIG University, which was founded on the ideals of elevating sourcing and risk professionals to deliver strategic value to their organizations and transform their careers. It was created at the request of SIG members who saw an educational training gap for today's workforce and offers one-of-a-kind certification and training programs for professionals seeking deep expertise in sourcing, governance, risk, intelligent automation, and more for themselves and for their teams.

welcome back everyone. Gotham uh is so wonderful to have the founder and ch chief executive officer here. So You know, you your vision for launching True Value Hub was born out of twenty years plus experience in the manufacturing supply chain and your background is absolutely amazing. Can you share a little about that? And then I would like to know I I wanna jump into how you and I first met. But first can you share a little bit about your background?
Gautam Pasari 2:32
Uh thanks John. Thanks for having me. Uh about my background, I'm an industrial engineer by trainee and uh MBA from the Watten School of Business, twenty plus years in supply chain, mostly working with large organization on the strategic sourcing side of business.

How did Gautam’s 20‑year manufacturing background shape the platform’s core features?

Gautam Pasari 2:49
And um in my previous roles I was leading large sourcing teams for various organizations and I've seen that um when my team knew what is the true cost of making a product at the suppliers, they were much more effective in driving driving sustainable cost savings. So my objective was that how can I make this knowledge available to the wider masses? And that's where the idea for True Value Hub came in, because there was no solution out there in the market which was solving the problem today. So uh this was came out of years of pain point working with various organizations where there was no solutions which which were solving the problem to them.
Dawn Tiura 3:30
So there was no solution out there, so you had to create your own.
Gautam Pasari 3:33
So we created my own at the time I spoke to my boss that um th this was a large um uh a fortune hundred company. that I want to solve this problem. He said that, well, why don't you move to the detail transformation role and solve the problem yourself? Because this problem is across various business units. And and and apparently I looked around, there was no solution out there. So what we do is we help manufacturing companies save cost on their debt material procurement, we help drive supply based resiliency and get give them visibility into their CO two emissions.
