Wie lässt sich CO2 aus der Luft filtern, um den Klimawandel zu bekämpfen? In dieser Folge spricht Jan Thomas mit Florian Tiller, dem Co-Founder und CEO von Ucaneo, über dessen Technologie, die CO2 aus der Atmosphäre entfernt. Florian erklärt, wie Ucaneo es schafft, durch modulare, containerbasierte Anlagen eine Kapazität zu erreichen, die laut Ucaneo mit „35.000 Bäumen auf 15 Quadratmetern“ vergleichbar ist.Ucaneo hat heute 6,75 Millionen Euro an Startkapital erworben, um die Entwicklung ihrer CO2-Entsorgungstechnologie zu beschleunigen, angeführt von IBB Ventures und Smart Energy Innovationsfonds. Zu den weiteren Investoren gehören Plug & Play US, der Grantham Environmental Trust, Carbon Removal Partners, Nucleus Capital, Apprecia Capital und Angel-Investoren wie die Flixbus-Gründer. Florian berichtet die erfolgreiche Finanzierungsrunde, den Umzug in eine neue Produktionshalle in Berlin sowie das Geschäftsmodell von Ucaneo, das auf dem Verkauf von CO2-Zertifikaten basiert, und die Pläne, die Kosten der CO2-Filterung deutlich zu senken. He obtained his BSc. in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (exchange) and his MSc.
