What did Martin O'Neill say about his future at Celtic after the recent defeats?
0141-951-1025. It's time to talk football. It's Clyde One Super Scoreboard.
Good evening and welcome to Clyde One Super Scoreboard as we look back on another big weekend across Scottish football. Rangers go to Celtic Park and win, piling more pressure on the hoops after three defeats in a week. Martin O'Neill says he'll take time to think about his position after that difficult period. And there were big wins for both Dundee sides as we head into international. Break. I'm Gordon Duncan, and joining me tonight you have Alex Ray and Roger Hannah.
Well, you've taken the wind out my sails a wee bit and Gordon. I was going to come out on the show tonight and had a great build up. You know, I was going to say it's a it's a poor result for one of the Glasgow teams. They haven't they scored a goal again. You know, the manager get it back in in the summer he was asked to come back and do it again, but what has happened to Mark Wilson at Partigle? And I can't do it now 'cause he's number two sitting next to me.
Um You'll need to save that one for later. You do both ready to just sit and talk about the international break for two weeks. Is that is that what's gonna happen following? Three weeks,
isn't it? Three full weeks.
Do you think it'll be get your calls in and what Sebastian Pocagnoli's team should be or or is there anything from the weekend you want to discuss first?
I think there might be a couple of things and I don't think don't take this the wrong way, Alec, I don't think that we're particles related.
Do you think he's bothered? No. He's happy not to discuss that at the moment. He bounced in here tonight. I couldn't possibly think about why. what else happened over the weekend. But let's be serious. What an incredible Yeah. week it's been. 'Cause last Monday night we were almost at fever pitch on this show, which leaves me wondering where we're gonna get to between six and eight tonight.
Listen, I think most of the calls tonight will be about the fallout of the old firm game yesterday, the manner of the performance as well, and probably a lot on Martin O'Neill. I think you'll get the scatter gun approach, you know, will it be the players, will it be the manager, will it be the board? Uh and I think a lot of people have valid claims to all three.
Yeah. And listen. That is the thing because if you look, it's a mess, Alec. It's a real mess and it's come upon Celtic. Quite quickly. Um the last eight days have been lamentable for Celtic. They were outclassed at Ibrox and knocked out the Premier Sport Cup. There goes any hope of a treble. Um they started the Europa League league phase. And by the way, it's a competition they shouldn't have been in because at 4-0 up against Las Glens, they should have been in the Champions League. That's right. They then start that 3-1 home defeat, Deference Varos. And in front of sixty thousand of their own supporters, they barely lay a glove on Rangers yesterday, lose by a goal to nil, it could have been more. The gap at the top's down to two points and you know, you were joking, Gordon, it's gonna be a long three weeks for us in this show before there's club football back.
It's gonna be a very long three weeks for Celtic fans.
It won't be a long show tonight though, because these phone lines are already looking lively, as they were after the game yesterday, and as they'll be for days and weeks to come, I suspect, after what we've witnessed. So come on, 0141-951-1025. Celtic fans, how do you begin to sum up the last eight days? Where is it going wrong? Why is it going wrong? Alex alluded to there probably is a scattered gun here where you're looking at the. Look at the way the clubs run, recruitment, manager, players, systems, formations, key moments. It's all in there. So let us know. Unload. That's what we're here for. To get it all off your chest on 0141951 1025. We've said this a couple of times over the last week or so, Rangers fans, we're not daft.
We know. We see it out there on social media. No Rangers fans phoning in Clyde One Super Scoreboard. We want to hear the other side having uh a a a look at themselves and soul searching after what happened.
