Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?

0.031 - 1.754 Joanna Page

I don't have to speak. I don't have to smile.

0

1.954 - 2.294 Alistair Petrie

Do it again.

0

2.374 - 3.556 Joanna Page

I don't have to that.

0

3.576 - 9.765 Alistair Petrie

Imagine coming across that. Punch it on that. It feels like it's cake that comes with a savoury dish.

0

10.747 - 10.967 Connor Swindells

Eggs.

12.069 - 19.78 Joanna Page

Fish fingers. I've spoken to a snail. So I think that's why I can go right full swing for the oysters.

19.8 - 23.005 Unknown

Give them a bonus fluff. It is that type of pod.

23.025 - 26.089 Joanna Page

And just sit there and pleasure to me now is just like that.

26.322 - 30.929 Mathew Horne

You raw dog it. Oh my God. Hello and welcome to Table for Four with me, Matthew Horne.

Chapter 2: How did Connor Swindells and Alistair Petrie meet?

113.956 - 118.622 Connor Swindells

What were you doing in Paris? I was at a little fashion show. Oh. Paris Fashion Week. Paris Fashion Week.

0

118.642 - 120.224 Joanna Page

We were at Paris Fashion Week.

0

120.264 - 127.474 Connor Swindells

Who were you walking for? No, seriously. I was sitting down comfortably. Oh, were you in front row?

0

128.197 - 129.179 Joanna Page

And who was it?

0

129.199 - 130.803 Connor Swindells

It was a brand called Woo Young Me.

131.464 - 135.011 Joanna Page

Right. Were you wearing them as well? Because that's a bit of a... I was wearing them. You have to wear them, don't you?

135.031 - 135.412 Alistair Petrie

I was wearing them.

135.432 - 136.414 Connor Swindells

Did you get to keep the kit?

136.835 - 137.396 Alistair Petrie

Kept the jeans.

Chapter 3: What was the experience like at Paris Fashion Week?

240.061 - 240.982 Alistair Petrie

Oh, yes, it was.

0

241.183 - 251.438 Joanna Page

But we were just saying that it started, and I mean, you, you know, oh, my God, you started the whole thing. But as soon as we saw you, straight away, the parents were just saying, we just went, oh, right, okay.

0

251.498 - 251.858 Mathew Horne

That's him.

0

251.878 - 257.086 Joanna Page

You can tell that he is just, he's amazing. He's the one. He's going to be like, boom, he's going to be fantastic.

0

257.106 - 263.035 Mathew Horne

That's very kind of you to say, thank you. In a few years' time, he's going to be front row at Paris Fashion Week. That's what I thought.

263.055 - 264.858 Unknown

Yeah, nicking jeans.

264.918 - 269.224 Mathew Horne

Stealing denim. Did you think that when you first met Connor?

269.204 - 292.984 Alistair Petrie

yeah i i've said it i said it then and i say it now to anyone that that will listen and i say this um very happily and openly um i think um i think connor is a generational talent i do because i think he can do anything he can make you laugh can make you cry he could uh threaten you he can do anything he can do anything he wants to do do you think he can eat snails i think we're about to find out i really hope so they were very subtly dropped

294.213 - 299.702 Unknown

I don't want you to think it was my fault that you've got snails in front of you. It was Alistair's choice. It's an optional choice.

Chapter 4: What funny stories do they share about their dogs?

1291.13 - 1308.391 Alistair Petrie

So I'm only in it thanks to him. It's the only reason I'm in it. Because... And then I remember going, they called me in and said, would you come and meet Ben, the director, exec producer, and JJ, our producer, and come and have a chat about this show. And I had read the first script. My agent just said, it's really good. And I read and thought, oh, it's really good.

0

1309.233 - 1316.973 Alistair Petrie

So going in to chat about it was really, really easy. And they were so lovely and so... almost overly lovely. And I thought, this is kind of odd.

0

1317.454 - 1317.574 Unknown

Yeah.

0

1317.594 - 1331.539 Alistair Petrie

Because they're being so kind of engaged and really like, how do you like it? They were really worried. And now I see perfectly why, because they just knew that it had to be you. It had to be me. Thanks to him. So I just, I spend my life happily just sort of hiding behind his coattails.

0

1333.257 - 1349.37 Joanna Page

When you first met each other and just your mannerisms and kind of, I mean, what's weird is that sitting here looking at the pair of you now, you don't particularly look like each other. Sorry, talking with my mouth full. But actually watching you on TV, you do. I mean, you just go, oh, my God, are they actually related?

1349.39 - 1353.759 Alistair Petrie

Well, we went away for six months to a small island and studied each other.

1354 - 1365.197 Connor Swindells

That's not true. Someone said to me while we were shooting, they said, it's so funny what you're doing because I can see that you're like modeling, you know, it's clever. Oh my God. We're really not.

1365.217 - 1368.842 Mathew Horne

We're doing it. We're just allowing, don't we? Joe, can I just say?

1369.022 - 1370.064 Joanna Page

What are you going to say to me now?

Chapter 5: What cooking tips do they share for perfect roast potatoes?

1585.493 - 1603.519 Alistair Petrie

And I think that's very much the same with sex ed. You can always be bonded by it. And I get, I mean, I get enormous compliments Again, as sort of one of the sort of older members of the cast, really sort of Gillian and I, I get such pride again in just watching how these extraordinary talents were found by Lauren Evans and then pieced together with such brilliant chemistry.

0

1603.96 - 1610.23 Alistair Petrie

And that was a jigsaw in itself. And watching without fail, all of them. Yeah, all of them. They fly.

0

1611.374 - 1637.213 Alistair Petrie

fly and that is just unbelievably wonderful i mean you know amy lou shooty emma connor i mean the list is endless and because talent was found discovered and and and kind of unleashed and i just think that's glorious really glorious and also doing on their own terms i think that's really important i think that's the key point we always felt like we were just mucking around really no matter how big the show got was there still a freedom yeah

0

1637.193 - 1653.572 Alistair Petrie

Loads of freedom. You never know if anyone's going to see something. You make something and then you sit and just think, well, let's hope we find an audience, especially when we came out in 2019, which was all the streamers were throwing stuff at the wall as hard as they possibly could to see what was going to stick. And I've never forgotten me, Conor and Amy Liu. We met on the Monday.

0

1654.333 - 1671.776 Alistair Petrie

It was 2019 and the show, I think, had gone out on a Friday or the Saturday. The first season had dropped on Netflix. And we met in a hotel coffee bar of some fancy-ass hotel in Shoreditch. And they were both sort of saying, do you think anyone's seen it? And I was facing the room and they were sitting just sort of looking at me. And I sort of turned around and looked at the room.

1672.336 - 1684.193 Alistair Petrie

And 80% of a very hip coffee bar in a hotel in Shoreditch were basically nudging each other. Because there was suddenly three members of a cast from a show all sitting having a coffee. And I just remember saying to, I think we're going to be all right. Yeah.

1684.173 - 1696.575 Joanna Page

Because you were all so recognisable and your characters were all so strong. I mean, you just, each one of you, you could just sort of just have the outline of each one of you and you would know who you were.

1696.595 - 1721.813 Alistair Petrie

That's definitely down to, again, it's so nice now that this is the first year that Oscars are recognising casting. It had flown so under the radar. And, you know, Lauren, thank you, Lauren won't mind me saying that she was working for someone in casting and got a meeting to cast this show for Netflix. And she thought, I haven't got a cat's hell chance in getting this.

1721.833 - 1737.572 Alistair Petrie

So I might as well just go in. And when they ask me who I think is right, I'll just tell them my current ideas. And so she just went in and just let it all hang out. And they went, yeah, great, great. And now Lauren, in a very short, she's amazing anyway. Yeah, brilliant.
