We're gonna be streaming this live here late on uh Wednesday night. If you're a Sabres fan, I'm I'm not sure that any of the moves that have happened Other than compensation on one of them has been much of a surprise per se, but Regardless, holy shit, what an eventful uh twenty-four plus hours has been for the Buffalo Sabres. And at this point right now, I feel like going forward, anything and everything is on the table. We don't know how this is gonna play out. I feel like the things that we expected, at least to some level, to to get done got done in different ways, maybe than we
would have expected. But um now the uh the uncertainty kicks in. What are the sabers? gonna do. And this is for me anyway, the the fun part. Uh thank you everybody for for jumping in and for for watching and for listening to the show. Appreciate you guys very much. Um joined by uh my special guest right now, recurring guest, Chris Ostrender from Two in the Box. And I was talking to you briefly right before we went on the air. Um take you a a little peek behind the curtain per se. I asked Chris to record with me during lunch. On Wednesday. And fortunately for for me anyway, you've been busy this week, so you couldn't do it and Thank God. Because had we recorded at noon, we would have just missed, oh, I don't know, Alex Tuck being traded and signing an eight-year contract and Zach Benson getting locked up for seven years here in Buffalo.
Obviously, Bo Byron getting traded. A lot of shit we're going to get to today. A lot of questions that I'm going to have. I'm going to kind of pick your brain a little bit and get some of uh your reaction. But what's going on, dude? How you? doing as a as a hockey fan, as a as a sabres fan and blogger and content creator. This is uh This is an exciting time, isn't it, man? What's up?
Man, it's been a crazy twenty-four hours. I uh was yeah, you know, we uh you and I had talked about trying to get together and and even, you know, Tyler and I for our regular show tend to record on Tuesdays. Yeah. Uh and we have a pretty good track record of recording an episode and then something happens the day, maybe two days after. Um and so even on Tuesday, luckily, uh we had uh youth soccer with my y youngest son. And so we didn't get home till like eight forty five, nine o'clock, nine thirty, just trying to get the kids to bed the whole nine yards. And, you know, Tyler and I were texting during the the entire process there because this was during the Byram trade. And uh it worked out in our favor that we didn't record until later because the Byram trade was finished uh by the time we were able to record.
So we didn't have to run the risk of Starting, starting over again, starting and stopping, you name it. Um yeah, so it's been a pretty wild I mean crazy week, honestly, if you go back to the Kessel Ring trade, if you want to include that.
A hundred percent I do.
Got the ball rolling. Um, but yeah, it's you know, Kekaline and I feel like he's kinda halfway done. He's got he's got a war chest now of of picks to n and prospects to work from. Now he's gotta decide how he wants to spend 'em. So it's uh it's exciting time.
It really is. And w I'm I'm gonna a I cause I do have some thoughts and and a question for you about Uh Michael Kesselring here. Look, this is an exciting time for Sabres fans and maybe a little bit of an anxious time too, because look. This team might be better off in the long term by what they've done in the last twenty four hours. In fact, I would certainly like to think they're going to be long term. Um Today, if the Sabres had a game tomorrow and we were getting ready to talk about a game. This is not as good of a hockey team as the team that took the ice for Game seven against The Montreal Canadians right now, there's just There's no disputing that. But you know what? Here we are, cr uh Chris, a couple of days for the draft.
