have you this week a lot going well actually you know what not a lot going on just a a boring monday june 1st you know nothing nothing fun really going on in the nfl just uh One of the best wide receivers gets traded to your division rival, which, I mean, to be fair, we kind of all suspected that was coming. So that wasn't really surprising at all. But boy, oh boy. So I was on the phone with my boss on Monday, and we were on a three-way call. We had a business call. And... All of a sudden, I get a message from a buddy of mine with a screenshot, and I'm like, oh, come on now. I just felt like fake news to me, like it was a fake Adam Schefter or something like that, the screenshot. I go on Twitter while I'm on the phone, and my mind completely left the purpose of the phone call that I was on with my boss because I was like, wow, holy crap.
Miles Garrett goes to the Los Angeles... Rams, Jared Verse, a first, another pick as well. Before we get into the Sean McDermott-Bill stuff, what what is your uh well let's start with the miles here i mean that's the big thing so what was your what what was your reaction your instant reaction to that um what's your reaction right now because i i'm still semi-floored i did not expect them to be trading if it did should have known it would be the rams in hindsight you know it's one of those after the fact things like of course it's the rams that's what they do but um i don't know what what's your reaction to all this
Yeah, I was surprised, too. I was in a meeting with all the directors at SB Nation. And so it's very rare for us to even be paying attention to anything else. But I saw a couple eyes get really wide at the exact same time at
our
meeting. So that was very interesting. From the Browns, it makes a whole lot of sense. They pushed his bonus in his contract from March to August. And I wrote this back in March over at Buffalo Rumblings. It just made sense that this was going to precede a trade. And the Browns said that that wasn't the case, which didn't make sense. And literally the only realistic explanation for moving that money back, if you're Miles Garrett, is... to secure a trade in the future. The Browns, they would love to have five months where they don't have to pay that, you know, whatever it is, $21 million. So like it made sense for the Browns to push it back for sure. But for Garrett to be like, yeah, I'll just take my money four months from now instead of now, I don't really care.
Like that doesn't make any sense. And so it always seemed to me like it was the prelude to a trade. You know, the Browns are reloading again. They've had several years without first round picks leading up to this past year of the Deshaun Watson trade.
